Preferably from Amazon as I have prime and it'll deliver quickly.
I'm not looking to spend anything more than $70-80, but obviously I'd love something even cheaper. Anyone have any suggestions or anything?
Speed isn't a concern to me as long as it isn't TOO slow. Probably only using this for music.
I'm an FORMER iPhone guy (had a Nexus One, but not for too long - bought it when it first came out exclusively for T-Mobile's 3G network and I had AT&T.... loved the phone, but couldn't stand Edge) who doesn't have much experience with expandable memory. I don't really know what to look for! Thanks.
Just a laugh for you, but being a former dual iphone family I went into a AT&T store (I wanted a 32GB card then...that moment and locally) and asked if they had any in stock. Salesman rung up my purchase and asked my phone number...I replied I used to be with you guys and switched over to Sprint and sold my etch e sketches.
He replied its ok and off I went.
Granted I paid 150+ then, they are available just about anywhere for the price range you are looking in.
I got a SanDisk. I do recommend however you get one with an SD/micro sd card adapter and USB for microsd as it was so simple to move everything from one card to the other in one shot.
You dont have to have these, just really makes it easy to move all from old card to card in one click.
Here is the the one I got and its $94 and 5 stars by all 4 people at amazon.

With the exception of a few occasional and short lived deals on the Sandisk 32GB, you're not going to find anything less than $70-80 for a legit 32GB MicroSDHC card. Even $70-80 is a better price than you may find at this moment. Fakes are a very common problem -- smaller cards that have been altered to appear to be 32GB, but won't let you write anything more than the 2GB or whatever they really have in them. So even if you think you've found a great deal, be sure it's from a solid seller (and watch out for Amazon marketplace as well). There was a brief deal from Verizon earlier this year, and one from Sandisk direct a month or so ago that made it available for $50 and $57 respectively, but those are rare.
This Kingston is the card I have. It's sold out in this packaging from newegg right now, but I bought it for about $87 a couple months ago. Prior to sellout, it was going for $95.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139391
This appears to be the same card in different packaging (full size SD adapter instead of a small USB microSDHC reader), and it's also $95:
http://www.adorama.com/KGSDMC432GB.html
As far as I know, the Sandisk and the Kingston are the only legit 32GB microSD cards on the market right now. I haven't looked in the last month or so, but that was the case when I looked a few months ago. But there are also fakes sold as those brands, so be very cautious on any deal that looks too good to be true. Odds are very high it is.
I'm waiting for a steal of a deal on one of these 32GB cards also... my 16GB one is almost done for
I've been looking and waiting for a deal on one as well. My best advice would be to register on a site like slickdeals.net, setup an email alert for 32gb micro sd, and wait for a deal.
Here is a class 4 from Kingston for $105. This is the one I'm getting.
Or, even better, here's a thread about the 32GB Class 10 by Lexar for nearly the same price. Some of the links provided are even cheaper!
I got one off E-Bay for about $55 and it works fine.
Edit: Also check this out. I don't know if the code is still good or not. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852567
Personally, my advise would be to stay away from Ebay. I got 3 counterfeit cards there in the last couple of months. I got refunds for them all, but shipping one of them to China set me back about $25, and in each case I had to open a dispute before they'd provide me a refund. Now I'm trying to decide if I've got the money to splurge on a legit card in the $90 range, or if I'm going to wait and hope they come down in the next couple of months. No more eBay for me!

Its what i bought. Class 2 isnt bad but i had 20gb of music so i went class 4 and it works great all music loads up fast with album art and a couple movies i put on it play fine
Has anyone tried any of the generic 32 GB cards from ebay? I was looking into getting one.
I bought this one...more of a trusted source

i spent the cash and got the confidence of buying legit, $95 for a Lexar 32 GB class 10 card with USB adapter. worth it

I just bought the same one! You can get 10 dollars off (to make it $39.99) if you buy it with a new account. Use the promo code NEWCUSTOMER10. You have to add something small to the order to get it over 50. I went to Newegg gear and added a Newegg wristband, as it was the cheapest item with free shipping.
I wouldn't buy any cards off Ebay. There's as much incentive to sell rigged cards as there is demand for high capacity. My roommate just bought a 32 GB off Ebay and he got lucky. Make sure that the seller offers returns and when you get it immediately run h2testw.
I just have one question for the OP..
Are you feelin lucky?
SD card prices are a RIP OFF!! am i the only one that thinks that?

My wife and I picked up Patriot sd's from Micro Center... I think they were $39 they work pretty awesome. Price wasnt bad at all compared to online prices. it seems like it is luck of the draw on the Generic ebay ones so we stayed away from those.
Fakes are extremely common for flash memory on ebay, especially on any kind of "OMG WHAT A DEAL!" type of things. The fakes are usually a 2GB card that's had a 3 painted on it in front of the 2, and hacked firmware to make it appear to be 32. But when you try to fill it, it won't let you, because it's still just a 2GB card.
Basically, if it's substantially below the going rate from reputable sources (looks to be roughly $60-80), you're going against probably 80-90% odds that you'll get a fake.
I made the mistake of buying one and I can put 32 gb worth in info on there but when I put it in the phone it can't access it.
I wouldn't buy from anyone but a trusted source and right now I wouldn't buy one for less than about $50.00.
In a year or two they'll be going for $25.00, but right now anything that cheap is bound to be a fake that doesn't actually hold anywhere near 32GB.

true story
16gb class 10 (14.8 formatted)- ~$35
32gb class 10 (formatted size unknown)- ~$82
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004H8FTCK
i bought the 16gb c10 and it shipped fast and works perfectly for me. it is a real card, not a rip off too. sdtools (i think its called) for android said it has a r=10-12.5mb/s w=20-25mb/s or something in that range (been a while since i uninstalled the app). never had a problem and i highly recommend it, the 16gb one atleast since thats the only one i can speak for.
Patriot class 6 32gb micro SD card from Fry's for $69 about 3 months ago.
It's legit, not like the fakes on Ebay. Google it. You will find out the truth. Even if you pay near to the going price, you run the risk of getting a fake. IMHO, it's just not worth the hassle.
Got one it works pretty good..

thanks for the info. wow. just ran this tool on my phone. 12.7 BM/s writing and 19.7 MB/s reading. Very nice. :-D however, on issue is why on earth would it need to know our GPS? *uninstalling*
I got one off Ebay for $39.99 and its totally legit. I got lucky I guess... this time.
Got to be careful with SD cards on eBay. I got a fake. I tested it with a program called htest or something like that. Seller did refund my money before I sent back the cards which was quite nice of him. I ended up biting the bullet and bought 2 from best buy.

does anybody out of germany had a chance to pic a SGN up at MediaMarkt? or maybe you've reccived a mail from Amazon.de or any other Order site that your device is on his glorious way into your hands?
Amazon.de and other online retailers don't seem to have stock yet. No german online retailer has send out phones yet.
But you could get it for the last two days in many Media Markt and Saturn stores. They have limited stock at the moment so calling ahead and reserving one for pick up is advised, especially if you don't live near one of their stores.
The Galaxy Nexus is in Media Marks latest print ad (page 3). download pdf
edit: It's also on the front page of the Saturn homepage.
amazon
i've ordered it on amazon along with prime delivery (had a wording grin there) since they offered the SGN mid last month..
they still give me a delivery date range from tomorrow 3.12 till 6.12.
but so far it's not it's way yet...
can keep you posted if desired..
got it from saturn yesterday and canceled my order at amazon
Yeah, I bought the last out of 7 Galaxy Nexus that were in stock at a MediaMarkt in Heilbronn on November 30th
The guy selling it to me had never even heard about Nexus devices and didn't know ****. ("Is this a new windows phone?" ) But he was impressed that all 7 devices were sold for 549€ in no time.
I canceled my order at Home Of Hardware then.

have you tried mediamarkt instead?
nope - and i won't, the service in both of those stores is as bad as it can be..
through I'm spamming F5 on amazon to check any changes (and yet I'm so eager to switch away from my almighty milestone)
I ordered mine from amazon a week ago. they say 13.12.-14.12.
Got mine today from Media Markt as well, 529€ which is compared to online prices very cheap. Canceled my preorder as well.
Just call the Markets near you and ask if they got it. I called 3 different ones in the area and only one had them. Good luck!
I heard there are the ones selling for 529 euros, and the ones for 629. Has anyone been able to confirm whether the more expensive ones are 32GB, or that's only retailer price difference?
As far as i know, only the LTE version does hold 32gb of data - all GSM devices are 16gb only
That's what has been said, but a 100 euro price difference seems pretty peculiar to me. It exactly matches the other devices' price differences for storage expansion. I guess we'll have to wait for someone to get a hold of one of the 629 euro ones.
could be... but you really just need more space for music n stuff.. depending on the data limitation within your contract... however you can use the cloud as extended storage.. basically thats why the 16gb is not that huge step back (for me, even if i think 16gb is far too less of offline storage)
Well, that's true, but i just can't bring myself to accept 16GB of storage . I have great 3G coverage here but still i would like to keep the most of my music and especially TV series episodes with me on my offline storage.
I just bought this from Amazon - Patriot Signature 32 GB Class 10 MicroSDHC. It seems too good to be true. I know that Patriot is a good brand, and class 10 is exactly what I was after, but rarely can I find anything this cheap on Amazon which ships to Australia. It should work in the GS2. Thought you all may be interested.
It gets too many bad reviews for me. Including one that says the manufacturer states its not good in android phones.
I saw those reviews, but also weighed up against the good reviews I figured it was worth a shot. I also did a bit more digging on XDA - I noticed GadgetCheck links to this exact product in his Best Accessories Combo for the Galaxy S II post. I'll report back here with a review once it arrives.
Lets see, USA to Australia, should take about 15 - 20 days!
They fail. Period. Even Patriot has confirmed that they don't work very well and end up corrupted after 2-3 months.
I guess ill be very disappointed then. Oh well.
I would like to buy one but after reading these comments, I think im gonna change my mind.
So the card arrived yesterday (was pretty quick from USA on standard shipping), I've installed it, transferred the data from the old card and loaded her up. She's running pretty smoothly, but if she goes bust, you'll all be the first to hear about it!

Im not sure if it is because its smaller in capacity but my Samsung Class 10 8GB does 15MBs write while 18MB/s read. Tho it supposed to be 21MB/s write 30MB/s read...namely.
Failes Card - 3 months
Bought one of the 32gb Class 10 Patriot cards for my S3, 3 months later and its dead
I'm holding out on the Note II because I keep reading that it comes in 16/32/64 gig models. So far i only see carriers offering the 16gb model. Does anyone know if the other two models even exist?
I gave up waiting ages ago and just got the 16GB version, glad I did though because in all that time there is still no sign of the 32 or 64. Forget about them tbh..

At least in the US its all about what the carriers will take and they will take the bare minimum and charge the absolute maximum they can. I don't expect we will see a 64GB version ever on a US carrier and the 32GB version if ever would be in say 6 months so they can pump up sales again before the GN3 arrives in the fall.
Carriers taking on a 64gb version isn't even the point.
It's Samsung finding out demand for a 64gb version while the 16gb is present.
The S3 has been out how long now, and I've only recently heard that a 64gb is on for pre order in the UK.
It's a shame that this happens. Because even if they make 10% of their N2 units as 64gb, they will sell like cakes, and if the demand is still strong, they can make more. But no, they chose not to.
They let customers lose interest by the time the 64gb comes out. Like who is still gonna buy an S3 now. Any right minded person would know to wait for the S4, especially at £600 for the 64gb S3.
So its just odd that they do this.
Just get a 16gb, with a 64gb extsd, and use a script to swap your extsd with your intsd. Job done, your phone is now 64gb.

The 32gb and 64gb models were available in Korea since late September. (Interesting enough, the 16gb hasn't been available there.) However, there was a news report saying that production of the 64gb was going to be discontinued in Korea. A member of a different forum told me that that was just a rumor. Being a Korean American, I asked my father, who is currently visiting relatives in Korea, to try to buy a 64gb for me. He was told that they weren't making the 64gb... just the 32gb was available.

That really isn't acceptable to me. I didn't want 80gb (16+64) of storage, but 128gb (64+64). As it is, I've pretty much given up on getting the 64gb, and I'm now determined to get the 32gb. Maybe 128gb micro-SD cards will come out next year, and maybe they will work with the Galaxy Note II, so I can have 160gb (32+128) of storage. Yes, I really want to have that much storage.
That sure is a lot of eggs in your basket of a phone.
Beamed from Jupiter on my Galaxy Note II
I got mine pretty easily in Korea when it launched. They seemed abundant. I did hear the rumor that they were not going to produce any more, but I also heard that Samsung came out and said it wasn't true. I guess I'll try stopping by a carrier with a ruse that I'm interested in a 64GB and I'll see what they say.
I really understand your pain. I had an obsessive unquenchable thirst to hold a smartphone with 128GB of data ever since 2007 ever since I got hold of a 16GB iPhone and realized that even 64GB (even if it came out 4 years later) would not be enough for everything I wanted to carry, even at that time. It was a mental conquest that I had to check off. Now that I have it, I'm not using it any differently than a 16GB device. But that mental hangup is no longer there.
If it is any consolation, I've filled up 95% my 64GB external, but I've only used about 10GB of 52.75GB on the internal of my 64GB device. Basically, I've left all the advantage of having a 64GB empty for over a month now. And sure I would be running out of space real soon if I had a 16GB, but I've been really just been installing too much junk. Those apps that I've uninstalled probably left all their gigs of external data in there.

Not really, because whatever I will put on the phone (when I ever get it, sigh) will also be on my PC.
