I'm holding out on the Note II because I keep reading that it comes in 16/32/64 gig models. So far i only see carriers offering the 16gb model. Does anyone know if the other two models even exist?
I gave up waiting ages ago and just got the 16GB version, glad I did though because in all that time there is still no sign of the 32 or 64. Forget about them tbh..

At least in the US its all about what the carriers will take and they will take the bare minimum and charge the absolute maximum they can. I don't expect we will see a 64GB version ever on a US carrier and the 32GB version if ever would be in say 6 months so they can pump up sales again before the GN3 arrives in the fall.
Carriers taking on a 64gb version isn't even the point.
It's Samsung finding out demand for a 64gb version while the 16gb is present.
The S3 has been out how long now, and I've only recently heard that a 64gb is on for pre order in the UK.
It's a shame that this happens. Because even if they make 10% of their N2 units as 64gb, they will sell like cakes, and if the demand is still strong, they can make more. But no, they chose not to.
They let customers lose interest by the time the 64gb comes out. Like who is still gonna buy an S3 now. Any right minded person would know to wait for the S4, especially at £600 for the 64gb S3.
So its just odd that they do this.
Just get a 16gb, with a 64gb extsd, and use a script to swap your extsd with your intsd. Job done, your phone is now 64gb.

The 32gb and 64gb models were available in Korea since late September. (Interesting enough, the 16gb hasn't been available there.) However, there was a news report saying that production of the 64gb was going to be discontinued in Korea. A member of a different forum told me that that was just a rumor. Being a Korean American, I asked my father, who is currently visiting relatives in Korea, to try to buy a 64gb for me. He was told that they weren't making the 64gb... just the 32gb was available.

That really isn't acceptable to me. I didn't want 80gb (16+64) of storage, but 128gb (64+64). As it is, I've pretty much given up on getting the 64gb, and I'm now determined to get the 32gb. Maybe 128gb micro-SD cards will come out next year, and maybe they will work with the Galaxy Note II, so I can have 160gb (32+128) of storage. Yes, I really want to have that much storage.
That sure is a lot of eggs in your basket of a phone.

I got mine pretty easily in Korea when it launched. They seemed abundant. I did hear the rumor that they were not going to produce any more, but I also heard that Samsung came out and said it wasn't true. I guess I'll try stopping by a carrier with a ruse that I'm interested in a 64GB and I'll see what they say.
I really understand your pain. I had an obsessive unquenchable thirst to hold a smartphone with 128GB of data ever since 2007 ever since I got hold of a 16GB iPhone and realized that even 64GB (even if it came out 4 years later) would not be enough for everything I wanted to carry, even at that time. It was a mental conquest that I had to check off. Now that I have it, I'm not using it any differently than a 16GB device. But that mental hangup is no longer there.
If it is any consolation, I've filled up 95% my 64GB external, but I've only used about 10GB of 52.75GB on the internal of my 64GB device. Basically, I've left all the advantage of having a 64GB empty for over a month now. And sure I would be running out of space real soon if I had a 16GB, but I've been really just been installing too much junk. Those apps that I've uninstalled probably left all their gigs of external data in there.

Just in case anybody was wanting a hands on confirmation....
How much did that cost you?
$199US direct from Sandisk US online store (selling it exclusively at release, and still exclusive through them but also available from their UK store, problems with stock currently). I got it shipped to NZ using Shipito, which is an excellent service for us non-US residents.
Expensive, but then I've had the money saved over a year now since the 32GB cards were meant to be released ages ago!
Why the hell did you pay that sum of money for card !?!? )) DO you really need it or just for fun ? Because maybe it would be smarter to buy now 16 Gb for like 50$ and when that become small, in year or two, buy 32 Gb for 50-100$, because that would be the price in 2 years....but cheers to your purchase
You have no idea how sick I was of not having all my music on the phone, along with room for apps etc. I've had a 16GB card since their first release and its chafed continually since then.
Besides, 32GB cards were expected ages ago, so I've had the money saved! I budgetted to pay even more to be honest, and still would have made the purchase in a heart beat if they had turned as expensive as I had estimated...
Then enjoy it !
thanks on confirmation ,i really wanted it
I have heard some noise about the 32gb not working for what ever reason. I know we have had one user claim that it is working on there device. Is there anyone else who has had problems with the 32gb? Or, are there any other success stories to be heard?

" I know personally of someone who has 32GB card in his phone and it is working fine." This is what I am looking for, thank you. The rest was just noise.
Anyone else have any actual personal experience of the 32gb microSD working or not?
Yes, I've not had any major issues with a SanDisk 32gb card, a couple of issues with it not mouting correctly when trying to connect it to my computer and use it as removable storage but I get this occationally with the supplied 8gb card too.
Tested with my friends to start off with, and I've since been out and bought my own, you can buy and use with confidence, using mine mostly to store movies (only so I can showcase the phone - I find myself daily needing to justify why I didnt buy a Desire...).
Currently only about a hundred meg free.
It will become a lot more useful once the phone is rooted.
£100 for a SD card is a lot of money... If I were to do it again I probably wouldnt have bought it when I did, knowing my luck by the time we've rooted it they'll prolly be a third of the price!

I can also confirm that 32 GB SDHC MicroSD cards works well with X10.
...and I can confirm that there are 32 GB MicroSD cards out on the market that does NOT follow SDHC (SD 2.00) specifications, and might therefor be incompatible with the X10.
I was careless and happened to get my hands on one of these non-SDHC 32 GB cards.
SDXC (Secure Digital eXtended Capacit) cards does not work as far as I know of.
it seems that the SD card is cheap in China........i wanna a 16G one
China SD cards
I have read in message boards that china is spoofing the settings on the card to make the phone believe it is a 32gig card, and most of the time people get the card, stick it in the phone see 32 GB and give positive feedback to find out later that after 16gigs it craps out and they lose all their data. I would be VERY wary of a 25$ card from china. If you look at the pictures of the china cards, it used to be that there was a round sticker with 32GB written on the packaging. Probably over 16GB... but now the pictures on Ebay are all of a generic white background micro SD card with 32GB written on it.

Preferably from Amazon as I have prime and it'll deliver quickly.
I'm not looking to spend anything more than $70-80, but obviously I'd love something even cheaper. Anyone have any suggestions or anything?
Speed isn't a concern to me as long as it isn't TOO slow. Probably only using this for music.
I'm an FORMER iPhone guy (had a Nexus One, but not for too long - bought it when it first came out exclusively for T-Mobile's 3G network and I had AT&T.... loved the phone, but couldn't stand Edge) who doesn't have much experience with expandable memory. I don't really know what to look for! Thanks.
Just a laugh for you, but being a former dual iphone family I went into a AT&T store (I wanted a 32GB card then...that moment and locally) and asked if they had any in stock. Salesman rung up my purchase and asked my phone number...I replied I used to be with you guys and switched over to Sprint and sold my etch e sketches.
He replied its ok and off I went.
Granted I paid 150+ then, they are available just about anywhere for the price range you are looking in.
I got a SanDisk. I do recommend however you get one with an SD/micro sd card adapter and USB for microsd as it was so simple to move everything from one card to the other in one shot.
You dont have to have these, just really makes it easy to move all from old card to card in one click.
Here is the the one I got and its $94 and 5 stars by all 4 people at amazon.

With the exception of a few occasional and short lived deals on the Sandisk 32GB, you're not going to find anything less than $70-80 for a legit 32GB MicroSDHC card. Even $70-80 is a better price than you may find at this moment. Fakes are a very common problem -- smaller cards that have been altered to appear to be 32GB, but won't let you write anything more than the 2GB or whatever they really have in them. So even if you think you've found a great deal, be sure it's from a solid seller (and watch out for Amazon marketplace as well). There was a brief deal from Verizon earlier this year, and one from Sandisk direct a month or so ago that made it available for $50 and $57 respectively, but those are rare.
This Kingston is the card I have. It's sold out in this packaging from newegg right now, but I bought it for about $87 a couple months ago. Prior to sellout, it was going for $95.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139391
This appears to be the same card in different packaging (full size SD adapter instead of a small USB microSDHC reader), and it's also $95:
http://www.adorama.com/KGSDMC432GB.html
As far as I know, the Sandisk and the Kingston are the only legit 32GB microSD cards on the market right now. I haven't looked in the last month or so, but that was the case when I looked a few months ago. But there are also fakes sold as those brands, so be very cautious on any deal that looks too good to be true. Odds are very high it is.
I'm waiting for a steal of a deal on one of these 32GB cards also... my 16GB one is almost done for
I've been looking and waiting for a deal on one as well. My best advice would be to register on a site like slickdeals.net, setup an email alert for 32gb micro sd, and wait for a deal.
Here is a class 4 from Kingston for $105. This is the one I'm getting.
Or, even better, here's a thread about the 32GB Class 10 by Lexar for nearly the same price. Some of the links provided are even cheaper!
I got one off E-Bay for about $55 and it works fine.
Edit: Also check this out. I don't know if the code is still good or not. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=852567
Personally, my advise would be to stay away from Ebay. I got 3 counterfeit cards there in the last couple of months. I got refunds for them all, but shipping one of them to China set me back about $25, and in each case I had to open a dispute before they'd provide me a refund. Now I'm trying to decide if I've got the money to splurge on a legit card in the $90 range, or if I'm going to wait and hope they come down in the next couple of months. No more eBay for me!
http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-memo...2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1294426364&sr=1-2
Its what i bought. Class 2 isnt bad but i had 20gb of music so i went class 4 and it works great all music loads up fast with album art and a couple movies i put on it play fine
So far I've only been hearing about the 16GB unlocked version, or vague rumors about the 32GB Verizon LTE version.. but absolutely nothing on the 32GB unlocked one! Not even rumors or questions, I find that pretty strange. For a phone that takes videos in 1080p and is expected to hold 720p movies for playing, 13GB is very limited.. I need the 32GB Nexus NAO!!!
Theres no new info on the GSM 32gb model. People are still waiting (semi) patiently.
I was going to wait for that too until I decided that the risk of it never being released at all was too high.

That would make no sense from Google/Samsung.. why alienate all non-verizon and international customers from 32GB goodness?

No.
It is my idea...in Italy LTE is expected in 2012, the same will be in other european countries. I think Google and Samsung are marketing the 16Gb GSM now and they will upgrade it with a 32Gb LTE model once LTE is available in our countries.
What do you think? Are you going to wait?
typical marketing strategy, sell out the low end stuff first, then push out a slightly better version as an "upgrade"
My theory is that Samsung has no intention to make a 32GB Galaxy Nexus of any kind. All they wanted to do is make a 16GB version. However, Verizon will not sell a 16GB Galaxy Nexus, because all their high-end LTE phones come with at least 32GB of memory (whether built-in or through a combination of build-in memory and microSD in-box). So if the Verizon Galaxy Nexus only has 16GB build-in memory and no microSD expansion, Verizon will be forced to sell it for cheaper than all their other high-end LTE phones, because otherwise customers might look at how it has half the memory of other phones at the same price point and not choose it. So in order for Verizon to sell the Galaxy Nexus at $299/$649 like their other high end LTE phones, they had to get a 32GB version. So Samsung made a 32GB CDMA/LTE version at Verizon's behest. But they have no reason to make a 32GB GSM version.
that's a sound theory, it makes sense from the marketing point of view
How much space are 1080p recorded videos alone going to take? Not counting all the HD content you would want to watch on that nice 720p screen, this is going to make for a seriously limited experience. This means for average sized high def movies (3-4 GB) you'd be able to carry around a whopping 2 to 3 movies!
And by the time an "upgraded" version comes in the form of a 32GB GSM Nexus, it will already be time for the SGS3. I just don't understand why Google would shoot themselves in the foot like that.
edit: nevermind, miss read
That's a deal breaker for me . I was really looking forward to this phone. But only 16GB? WTF? With music, videos, navigation maps, etc. that's not enough space for me.
I 've seen the 32GB version listed in a Greek website many days ago ( link ) , priced only 50 euros more than the 16gb one. If thats the case, no doubt i 'll be getting the 32gb one.
I was really wondering how they managed to get that device, since i haven't seen it listed, or priced, at other online stores. Anyway, i 'll call them and see what they have to say.
Edit: Mumbo Jumbo Gibberish. They told me to call them back in 10 days (thats when they say they will get the phone) if i wanted more info.

They also have it listed on Expansys, I'm not sure if that means they're expecting it or if some kind of marketing ploy..
It doesn't mean anything, except that Expansys want to secure preorders and have marketing hype. Clove have already confirmed there won't be a 32GB version but Clove have been wrong about things before...
Hey
I hope I don't get flamed for this, as I tend to find plenty opposition when trying to justify to people why I need so much storage space Basically would like to store most my music and have space for other stuff on my phone. Currently have a 32gb card and was either thinking about buying an 160gb iPod classic (which I really don't want to do as I find physical hard drives to be unreliable in portable devices/especially ipods). Alternatively I was considering purchasing a 64gb micro sd since I've heard that these cards work with out phones.
The problem here is that this card still retails at over £100, and I'm not sure I can justify spending that much on a card that will definately plummet in price once the 128gb variety are released.
So, a couple of questions... Firstly, does anyone have any information of when 128gb Micro SD cards will be available (I can probably justify spending over £100 for that much storage)
Secondly, if our phones work with the 64gb cards, will they also work with the 128gb cards and the rest up until the theoretical limit of 1-2tb?
Thank you for any help

but dude, i'm just venturing an educated guess here. but the price of a 128gb card isn't going to be 4x's the cost of a 32gb card. it's probably going to be about 3-5 times the cost of the 64gb card for a while after it's released. i'd look for the 64gb sdxc to be widely available in Q3 2012. by widely available i mean, in stores like curry's and the such. to understand the cost differences read the article below. and about the 128gb card, probably about a year or so after you see the 64gb @curry's.
these things are first proved possible. as in 'proof of concept', then they go into research and development. THEN into mass production. it takes a while for that process to occur.

Thanks for your response. I figured that since the 64gb cards dropped relatively quickly in price, I was hoping the same would happen with the 128gb ones around the £100 mark.

yeah. gMusic works best on wifi, but also offers offline playlist sync options. if you could plan what you want to hear on the underground on the way home or to work, you could sync it before you leave, maybe.

But the lady there told me it is on sale fairly often. I have used it for my tablet this trip and I love it. The speed and memory is awesome. Can't really beat that deal. I don't think that class 2 speed is really enough either.
Class 2 is a wee bit slow for my taste. I know people say Class 10 isn't really required unless you're using it for a camera, but I'd hold out for a Class 4 at least.
I bought 3 32gb SD cards from ebay and each one was a fake... one 100kb on the SD when tested.. but says 32gb on the card it self... the only guy that is selling true 32gb SD cards are selling them for around 40 bucks... if you do a google search you will find out that nearly 85% of all SD cards on ebay are fake... huge scam..
what most do is try and sell a bunch of them as fast as they can and when they sell enough.. cancel there ebay account and paypal account... so you can't track them.
Seems like a pretty good deal. I bought a 32gb class 2 sandisk last week and just got it. Its a little slowly loading stuff onto the phone but once its on there its fine.
I'm running on a Samsung branded 32gb class 10 that I bought at Fry's for 35.99. It's actually running pretty good. Granted, that you won't really need a class 10 speed for a phone - but nonetheless, it is still a good deals for something that you can use in other devices.
