does anybody out of germany had a chance to pic a SGN up at MediaMarkt? or maybe you've reccived a mail from Amazon.de or any other Order site that your device is on his glorious way into your hands?
Amazon.de and other online retailers don't seem to have stock yet. No german online retailer has send out phones yet.
But you could get it for the last two days in many Media Markt and Saturn stores. They have limited stock at the moment so calling ahead and reserving one for pick up is advised, especially if you don't live near one of their stores.
The Galaxy Nexus is in Media Marks latest print ad (page 3). download pdf
edit: It's also on the front page of the Saturn homepage.
amazon
i've ordered it on amazon along with prime delivery (had a wording grin there) since they offered the SGN mid last month..
they still give me a delivery date range from tomorrow 3.12 till 6.12.
but so far it's not it's way yet...
can keep you posted if desired..
got it from saturn yesterday and canceled my order at amazon
Yeah, I bought the last out of 7 Galaxy Nexus that were in stock at a MediaMarkt in Heilbronn on November 30th
The guy selling it to me had never even heard about Nexus devices and didn't know ****. ("Is this a new windows phone?" ) But he was impressed that all 7 devices were sold for 549€ in no time.
I canceled my order at Home Of Hardware then.

have you tried mediamarkt instead?
nope - and i won't, the service in both of those stores is as bad as it can be..
through I'm spamming F5 on amazon to check any changes (and yet I'm so eager to switch away from my almighty milestone)
I ordered mine from amazon a week ago. they say 13.12.-14.12.
Got mine today from Media Markt as well, 529€ which is compared to online prices very cheap. Canceled my preorder as well.
Just call the Markets near you and ask if they got it. I called 3 different ones in the area and only one had them. Good luck!
I heard there are the ones selling for 529 euros, and the ones for 629. Has anyone been able to confirm whether the more expensive ones are 32GB, or that's only retailer price difference?
As far as i know, only the LTE version does hold 32gb of data - all GSM devices are 16gb only
That's what has been said, but a 100 euro price difference seems pretty peculiar to me. It exactly matches the other devices' price differences for storage expansion. I guess we'll have to wait for someone to get a hold of one of the 629 euro ones.
could be... but you really just need more space for music n stuff.. depending on the data limitation within your contract... however you can use the cloud as extended storage.. basically thats why the 16gb is not that huge step back (for me, even if i think 16gb is far too less of offline storage)
Well, that's true, but i just can't bring myself to accept 16GB of storage . I have great 3G coverage here but still i would like to keep the most of my music and especially TV series episodes with me on my offline storage.

For $275, it seems too good to pass up. Has anyone received one from them? Are they new in the box, and do they come with any accessories, like how the AT&T version comes with a dock?

... I got my Xperia play from Argos at £179.99 also with a 16gb memory card. £179.99 is about $280.
Bought mine from Expansys a few months ago, before the massive price drop.
Came within a few days, all boxed with 16gb microsd and all the extra stuff.
Kinda wish I'd have waited since they're now half what I paid, but I wasn't to know
ordered mine from expansys for 230 euro around end of september, and they reported shipping would start at 4th october.
After a bunch of updates it's now officially (praying god) delayed to 15th october.
I'm seriously concerned that i'm gonna receive this phone the next price drop lol
I'm also w8ing now orderet it last week.. just recievd mail from them:
We receive information from our purchaser that they will be some delay for Xperia Play as there is huge demand since the price drop but not sufficient amount of stock made from SE so for the moment we do not know specific ETA for this product.

this is starting to get irritating.
Now on the website i read "shipping november 1"...
1 of november? are they effin joking? It's almost one ENTIRE month of delay from the initial shipping date of 4 of october...
I'm losing my patience. Is there anywhere else i can buy this phone at that price? I'd be more than happy to cancel my order from those idiots

If that's possibile, then i'll be more than happy to send expansys to hell
Hi all,
has anybody seen the GN on offer in the UK - sim free?
Broke my HTC and have seen their latest flagship phone has issues, so would rather switch to the Nexus
Thanks in advance

I got mine off amazon back in Jan, was easiest/cheapest way to get a sim free phone that I could find here at the time. But it would appear that it's not offered directly through Amazon - just resellers now there. So depending if that's your cup of tea or not, still have that route.
Not sure which carriers offer it still in store - but I believe if you bought outright off Vodafone, they'll give you the unlock code immediately (up to a 7 day wait maybe though?).
O2 policy was a year, and I think 3 might've been three months.
Pretty sure its not stocked in most stores in the uk now,
I got mine from the reseller Top T through amazon and they were very good, dispatched and delivered within 3 days. Free delivery also.
Thanks folks.....
I'm gutted. I almost bought the white one on ebay the other day, but opted for the HTC One X (this was before I read the bad reviews) and the bugger ripped me off with my cash.
So waiting for Paypal to get my refund sorted.
The white one on ebay was new and only went for £227
Would you recommend it?
Only because I could upgrade early with Orange for about £300 and get the S3?
I'm just not keen at all on that touchwiz poo,lol
That sucks, i like the onex but i have heard some bad things about it.
Just a personal thing but i'd never buy a phone from ebay anyways.
Grab the Gnex from amazon for £316 and you'll be happy
Edit: SGS3 is a beast, i've played with one and the touchwiz isnt all that bad. Plus the custom roms will be coming soon.
Down to personal preference really, i cam from iphone so anythings better!
Yeah, I've heard it's good,lol....
That's why I'm a bit undecided
Argggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Decisions, decisions!
I would go for the nexus, buy it outright then you're not going into another long contract, if you dont get on with it down the line you still have an upgrade to use and you can sell your nexus.
That's what I was thinking....
They're all going to start competing with quad cores now and in a few months the SG3 will be bottom of the list....
Nexus it is....
Thanks for your help!
Hey all.
Does anyone know when this will be available in the UK? A few weeks back it was at lakeside with the promise of general sale a few days after. I cannot find it even listed anywhere outside of expansys. I really want it!

The 16gb is available at the samsung store in Westfield centre Stratford. Thats the only place im aware of that has stock at the moment. They only stock the 16gb WIFI version though
Yep it's frustrating at the moment, I am almost tempted to order the 3G version from amazon.de, I think if they had the black version I would have ordered by now.
I can't help feeling that Samsung are shooting themselves in the foot the longer they leave it with the new Nexus 7 just round the corner.
Sorry I meant Westfield not lakeside! It's the 3G one I'm after ideally. Maybe amazon.de is the way forward. I'll give the UK another week or so then go German!

Carphone warehouse say they will ship wifi version before week commencing May 5th is you pre-order. However they also said this 10th april for delivery before 19th April. I pre-ordered (they took my money) and I rang to chase on the 18th to see it slip out to May 5th. So I cancelled my order.
So I don't suppose this really helps you! but they are listing it and cheaper than amazon.de.
I noticed the Carphone Warehouse date slipping too, I really looking for a black 3G version which it seems is non existent right now.
I asked Samsung UK on Facebook, they replied
Samsung UK (Facebook) posted this:
Samsung Mobile UK Hi Julie, the wifi version will go on general release in the first week of May. ^George
No details of 3G or 32GB units
I'm in the States, but want the 3G/Phone N5100 version as well. Every site that I've seen it listed at in the U.S. has also slipped from April 23rd to May 8th availability. So those dates correspond well to a 3-4 day lead time from foreign sources such as the initial May 19th, then May 5th dates given by Carphone Warehouse UK.
Hopefully May 5th (and May 8th for me) will be the day! Fingers crossed...
I own a Note 2, and was intrigued by this device.
However, the price really puts me off. For an 8" tablet, it is in a price bracket of it's own. More expensive than the iPad Mini even.
I just can't justify that layout for something that is just a little bigger than my Note 2, it just isn't worth it.
A real shame, because it looks a great device.

Its in a price bracket of its own, because its in a league if its own. Even against the iPad Mini, the Note 8 has the pen digitizer, better CPU, and 4x the RAM (although the exterior build quality is arguably not quite as good, but still great).
Its worth if for those that value a premium device packed with features, versus the "race to the bottom" pricing strategy and gimping of features and quality present on devices like the Nexus 7, Kindle Fire, and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. I for one am thankful that somebody has stepped up with a quality Android device (in the "smaller" form factor), as the lower-priced competition just doesn't hack it for me.
I am also waiting for the 3G version to become available so that I can replace both my Note 2 and IPad Mini with a single device. :good:
Samsung UK Facebook stated the wifi version would be available on 10th May.
Currys have the same availability date with the Note 8.0 ready to pre-order.
The Note is on Amazon UK - £339. However they are stating a 1- 3 month delivery. I'm confident that it will be available well before that time slot, as they often state this for newly released goods.

I'm assuming you got the WiFi only version? I'm patiently waiting for the 3G/Phone version to be released in the UK or elsewhere so I can get it through an importer to the U.S. (Los Angeles).
Yes just the white 16gb wifi is all they have....hope you don't have to wait to long
Thanks. We'll see. Unfortunately, Negri Electronics has pushed their "Expected Availability" date for the preorders forward twice already.

An Australian grey importer got the the 3G version in stock yesterday, so probably you'll see other importers get them soon.
Decided to wait further, as Australian versions of the device get 24 months warranty, but if you get an international version, it only has 12 months warranty. Endless waiting!
asked about availability at the Samsung flagship store in Metrotown.
"we have no idea."
anyone have a confirmed date for Canada?
Sadly no. Samsung has really dropped the ball on the Canadian launch, and they wonder why Apple does so much better than them. How about not sucking at launching simultaneously everywhere? It's funny how the new iPad has been announced much later than the note and will be available earlier than the note here.
Anyway there's been some retailers that have the note popping up on their stores:

A while ago, Samsung Canada said 'Some time in November', so there's your best approximation to whatever the hell that means.
released in Canada
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product...spx?path=c89c495a2da1bbb08734d66e905e8474en02
but NO PERKS? wth, Samsung!
Bestbuy in Canada had them in stock a few days back and I ordered one right away. However there has been no change in my order status in all this time so I think they quite possibly don't have them available yet.
http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-101-2014-edition-lands-canada-november-8
apparently the release date is tmrw.
and there ARE perks.
if you can call them that.
• $20 Samsung Apps gift card
• Three months of free streaming music with Rdio
• Two free e-books from the bestselling For Dummies series
• 50 GB of secure cloud storage for two years with Dropbox
i guess the Dropbox extension is decent though.
Out of all possible perks, 2 books for Dummies? Who was in charge of marketing in Samsung's Canadian office, kids from South Park?

what would be better:

- $50 for Google Play
- free book cover if you buy before December
you know, useful stuff.

That is odd. I bought mine at BestBuy in Kitchener, Ontario on Tuesday. I was originally holding out for the Asus TF701T, but with no release date in sight for Canada, I went googling and saw something positive for this tablet and went to bestbuy to see if it was out yet. Did a search, they showed stock, and I went and bought it. It was behind the counter as they had not stocked it yet, but they did have them.
EDIT: Correction, it was Future Shop I bought it at.
Late this afternoon Best Buy Canada had 20 available on their web page. Tried to order again and it went through so maybe this time I will get one.
Sold out in a couple of hours.
Best Buy store availability in Vancouver is zero presently.
NICE RELEASE STRATEGY SAMSUNG. what, they shipped like 40 tablets to all of Metro Vancouver?

Like some other thread stated, BB/FS started selling them in-store Nov. 1st.
I dropped by my local BB in vancouver on the 2nd and the employee said they had "stacks" in the back,
they just never got around to listing them in the online stock check since the 8th was the official samsung canada release date.
Went back today to get an exchange and they were out of stock, but it probably shouldn't take more than 1-2 weeks for them to restock.....
Hopefully.

The S-pen is loose in the silo (when inserted with the button facing upwards, snug when button faces downwards),
so it sometimes becomes loose when the tablet tilted and lightly shaken and it auto-wakes the screen,
which would kill battery life if it inadvertently turned on while in my bag
Alot of Best Buys in Vancouver are restocked (but not listed as in stock on website)
just exchanged mine cause of the loose S-pen.
No problems with the new unit from early testing
NCIX has them in stock too if anyone is up north is still looking for this tab ~
still waiting to pull the trigger (not that low stock in Metro Van is helping) ... any guesses on whether any of the carriers will get the LTE model? and when? rumour is that Verizon is testing, wonder if Telus or Rogers is doing the same?
My old first gen Nexus 7 has the dodgyist usb socket ever. So I'd like to replace it with a Nexus 7 (2013 model) because it has QI charging. Has anyone had any luck lately buying a new UK or EU model Nexus 7 32gb in the UK? Or does anyone know of any legit online shops selling them? And yes I know this is a long shot & yes I have used google.
BT shop. Looks like it's the last one.
http://www.shop.bt.com/products/asus-new-nexus-7--2013--32gb-2gb-wifi-android-4-3-8XCD.html
In the last 3 months I've bought 3 from Cash Converters and 1 from Computer Exchange.
All of them have been around £100 and in practically mint condition. All four are going strong with no issues. If you want that piece of mind, buy from Computer Exchange as they give you a 1 year warranty.
I cant see any reason in buying this tablet for £238 new on the BT website. If it was 2013, £238 wouldn't be a bad deal. 2015 on the other hand, hell no.

Pretty sure argos still have them, that's where I got mine from last year, I don't really recommend buying from there if your the kind of person who breaks stuff a lot tho, since you can't take it back unless it's faulty
