on Sense based roms, on the text messaging screen, i could just press on the To: field to add more contacts to text to. on Vanilla, more specifically Cyanogen, when i press on the To: field, when i already have one contact to send to, it won't auto find and fill more contacts. is this just a lack of feature on all Vanilla roms?

Looking for an Contact application.
I have a large amound of contacts now. Around 300+. Looking for the following features.
1: Autoload with screen keyboard. like dialer. alpha numeric
2: number and name filter. Like dialer. Optional
3: single tap to select the contact
4: 4 buttons at top/bottom to fire a task. Phone, SMS, email, edit.
Thats it.
Quick and easy.
Actually if someone wants to give me some C# source on how to pull contacts data out then I might whip it up. Just need to find the following
-How to pull contacts.
-How to initiate calls. sms, email, edit functions.
Other ideas?

Installed BlackIce just now. My first AOSP ROM and its not half bad to be honest
However I am having this problem which I never had on Sense ROM's. In the dialer when I go to the contacts tab there are some duplicate contacts. It's because the Facebook profile of those people doesnt link to the Google Contact. They always used to merge into one contact in Sense ROM's.
I have the Facebook app set to Sync All like I did in Sense ROM's. No settings have been changed.
How can I fix this?
You will have to go into your individual contacts, press edit, press menu, and select join. That will allow you to manually link your contacts from Sim card, Facebook, twitter google etc. You will have to do it for each one.
It's not quite as easy as sense but it will take care of the duplicates.

For batch merging, go into People application, go into setting and choose remove duplicate. It will merge any of the contacts with exact same name.
Hi all
In my previous ROM which was based on SENSE UI I could press on the "menu" botton in a contact and "LINK" a contact to another one in other application. So for example to link a contact in my phone book to a contact in facebook, so this contact will have the info of their both.
I have ROM which based on CM (MildWild 4.6), and I can't find a way to do it.
is this feature is special for Sense UI's ? or is it a way to do it in CM based roms also?

I'm not sure if this is what you wanted to do but...
Open Contact app
Long press on a contact and choose "Edit Contact"
Press Menu button and press 'Join' choose the contact you want to merge.
If the contacts (from facebook and phone) have exactly the same name it will be done automatically. If not, open contact - Menu button - Edit - Menu button - Merge.
No way to do it automatically like in sense based roms, sorry.
Can I customize message tone for a contact in HOX?
On stock ICS contacts go to specific contact and press menu->on popup menu U can choose ringtone for this contact.
Doesn't know with sense roms.

I've been looking for an AOSP style replacement for the stock Sense 6 "Messages" app. I've found that Slide SMS is the best solution. However, for some reason I am unable to use synced Facebook photos as contact images.
Contacts that I have messaged show up as blank (no photo) contacts even though when I press on the empty photo it brings up their "people" details WITH both Google and Facebook photos.
Is this just an issue with Sense or is there some solution that I am overlooking?
