[Q] Nandroid and apps installed to SD - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My applications are installing to the emmc rather than the SD Card. Is there any way to make nandroid backup the emmc for .android_secure rather than the folder in the SD Card, and if not, is there any way to make the applications install to the SD Card rather than the emmc so that the nandroid will back them up correctly? Thanks!

Maybe I am not understanding completely but do you mean that you did a NAND backup and then formatted your SD card, now you want to restore your backup? I might be missing something here but just remember that a NAND backup is basically taking a snapshot of your system's state and writing that to a single image file on your SD card. That way if you screw up a setting or want to swap between different ROMs you just restore the image from your storage card. If you format the card you are deleting all saved data including backup images.

Partitioning my SD card

Hi,
I want to partition my SD card so that I can install my apps to it.
My question : If i remove all my installed apps, music and photos from my SD card, what stuff do I loose when I partition my card? What stuff from the currently installed app would be lost?
Will some of the apps become unusable due to temp/cache files that gets deleted?
Regards,
Barend
Firstly, when you partition your SD card, you lose everything on the SD card. Everything on internal memory stays.
Secondly, some apps might not be usable as once after partitioning, i could not even boot up into the OS. Then i just flashed the Rom again.
Hope this helps;D

Symlinking

I want to symlink my .android_secure folder on my SD Card to the one on the emmc. Does anyone know how to do this? And the reason for this is because skyraider is storing my apps on the emmc rather than the SD Card when I hit move to SD Card, and nandroid isn't backing them up properly.

How can I reduce the size od Synergy

The Synegy Rom is a huge rom, and it always says I am running low on memory. Is there a good way to reduce its size, or which applications are ok to move to the sd card???
Partition your SD card if you haven't and reflash. Partitioning helps with offloading some things onto the SD card
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Reminder: partitioning you SDcard will erase it's contents. Backup first
so do a complete backup with titanium and then do what?
before you partition your sd card make sure you have anything you want saved (pictures, video, nandroid backups, and anything else) taken from your sd card and stored in a safe place on your computer.

I restored app with Titanium backup without SD card?

Hi all. I thought that titanium back up is stored on my SD card under "Titaniumbackup" folder. so today I pull out the SD card, and delected an app. then use the titanium back up. and it restored the app.
Can someone explain pls
Thats because you are not paying attention to what your device is telling you. The Sd card is your INTERNAL memory and your removable sd is listed As EXTSd.
