I've been trying different roms out recently and have been getting horrible battery performance, the only rom I use that gives me decent battery life is damageless damagecontrol rom. However, the dev hasn't been active for weeks, for what reasons I don't know.....but the rom has something I really like called dconfig, its basically a tool that lets you ban some apps and use a battery profile. Basically I want to know is there a way for me to incorporate this tool into another rom or is it just specific to that rom. If I can't is there another program like it
should be in q&a i think
and i don't think it can be done easily
I figured it be impossible
Damagecontrol is online now, try posting in the DC thread.

As long as its for the evo yes any one will do, but the 11-24 i believe it was gave me random reboots but i had good luck with the previous 11-14

I only use 11/13 - HERE. Stable, lots of speed and best battery life all wrapped in one. YMMV. VM Heap works best at 28 for me.

Sorry I wasn't clear, yeah I know he needs root but he wants the standard Sense UI ROM but with possibly an OC'd kernal.
Not happening.... yet
So far as I know there is no way to oc the stock rom, rooted or not. Hopefully we'll be able to at some point. I think sense UI is an HTC thing so you may be hard pressed to find a custom rom with it, worth a shot though. Otherwise your friend is sol at the moment.

Tell your friend to update to CR's OTA rom, then he can OC like me to 806 if he wants. Hell he can keep it at 806 24/7 for all i care .
Ok thanks for the info guys. I'll let him know.

Check the dev forum. There is a kernel that can be OC'd.
Yeah, ran across that kernel before, there's 3 or 4 versions with different clocks. I think it's only for CyanogenMod or some other one. Maybe I'll try it with the stock rom, may end up with a paperweight though. But hey stranger things have happened

My phone is stock, rooted, and overclocked. 806/806 conservative, and 245/245 on lock screen. It can be done, and it is painless!

Only use the ones that have "cm-espresso' in it. dont use it if it only has cm cause somethings may become broken....For example your led light(camera) might not function anymore...Those kernels with only cm are targeted to froyo roms based off the cm source.
I installed Franco's application from the Play store on my Galaxy Nexus, I was very intrigued to try the auto-flash option available, it will save a heap rather than downloading the latest zip and flashing it on CWM manually. To my surprise, auto-flash does not work at all, the progress bar seems tp reach 100% very quickly, and then just stay there. Any ideas?
I'm running bigxie's OTA 4.1.1 ROM.
Superuser?
I think that there is something related to the Superuser permissions. Does Franco.kernel Updater ask for Superuser when you open it? If not, I am almost sure that that's the problem.

I am sorry then, I don't know what it could be. Never happened to me...auto-flash always worked here. I guess we have to wait for more experienced users to figure out why it doesn't work for you.

Of course! I am running an older JB release however because the new ones have 1.8GHz as the OC limit, while I am blazing with 2036MHz, passing 15 minutes of Stability Test, perfectly stable at full load, and godly beastly :victory:
Ok so Im a little new to this hole rooting and flashing stuff and I've been reading around that the Ktoonsez KT747 Kernel has amazing battery life, even if you OC. So with this being said, im currently running SlimBean 2.7 but it doesn't say anywhere if it will support this kernel. Also can't find on Ktoonsez thread either. Maybe its me im blind when it comes to finding stuff. Thanks for help! If its necessary, I wouldnt mind flashing the CM10 M2.

[FIXED] I flashed the wrong one i did the one said above instead of the one that had the att in the name of the kernel, so its flashed and booted so i will get back with you to tell you how it goes.
[WORKS] It works like a charm thanks for all of the help.
Try this kernel http://goo.im/devs/imoseyon/d2att/lk_aosp_jb_tmo-v1.4.zip
It's imoseyons kernel. He is an amazing dev. I only use this. I have used ktoonez idk why I don't use it all the time. It says this kernel is for tmo the but trust me it works the same. He is a modified version of interactive designed for the s3. I get EXTREMELY great battery life. Go over to original dev thread over in the tmobile thread and look for lean kernel.
Use the kernel I included only if your on a jelly Bean rom.
Transmitted from my GALAXYSIII running Jelly Bean. XDA premium
KT747 can be found HERE, in the Original Development forum. There are variants of the kernel that will work for several current versions of Android.

Stock AT&T Kernel - includes root and the default BT and WIFI drivers....just in case . Alternatively, you can simply backup the /system/lib/modules folder which contains these drivers.
I just got the Epic 4G Touch from BOOST (White version). Right now I am bone stock, 4.0.4 FI22. I'm looking to ROOT it and run this ROM
([ROM] [TeaM VeNuM] RUJELUS22 The Blu Kuban FI27). Now my question is, since its on Boost, is there any difference in rooting and rom'ing? Will the methods work for mine?
If there are any differences please let me know. I have searched but Im not really finding anything.
Links would be much appreciated.
Thanks! Joe

I haven't found anything yet I'm debating about trying a one-click-root for the closest build to FI22. BUT, I dont want anything bad to happen. Not being a full tester, I cant just pull a new phone out of pocket to test it. Would be nice though, haha.

You can use agats kernel to get root, once you have root you can flash whatever rom and kernel you want as long as its for the EPIC 4G TOUCH and is compatible with the rom. Im running the BLU KUBAN rom on my BOOST MOBILE EPIC 4G TOUCH. It comes with the KUBAN kernel, and I can confirm 3G,4G work flawless so does GPS and every thing else. hope this helps you
As said before, if my simple to follow guide is followed, you can be rooted in no time without much hassle, even the most novice user can do it.

Ok, I got it rooted, now Im actually trying to get Blu Kuban. What kernal did you use to flash that ROM? I read that you cant use Agats kernal to flash Roms. Ive seen the the GB kernal EL26 is safe. But that confuses me honestly.

It shouldn't matter. In my personal testing and daily usage, Agats is safe for flashing most ICS ROM's, but some say that when it comes to AOSP or AOKP to use the EL26.
If you want to be extra safe use the EL26 CWM kernel.
Ok. So Im on Blu Kuban now. Its going to take some getting use to. But what is THE best ROM for the E4GT? Best battery life, like the #1 option for users of this phone.

I reckon that there is no such thing as a "best ROM". I personally don't like blu kuban as it has the damn blu kuban wording everywhere like if I'm playing blues clues an a lot of menus are dark, making it impossible to see unless highlighted. See how easy it is for others to have different views of ROM's when it comes to picking a best ROM?
I suggest you take a look around for a ROM in your taste. There is lots of ROM's to choice from and in the end only you can decide which works best for you with a mixture of tweaking. OFC lets also remember that certain applications you use may affect your experience with battery life on ROMs.
Hello, I have a few dummy Evo 4gs. Not active on cell network
I want to use it to play YouTube videos on my big screen led with HDMI.
Can someone point me to a working ron that does HDMI output mirroring?
Ideally I would like a fully baked rom. Something I can flash and HDMI mirroring will work for YouTube playing.
Anyone got any recommendations?
HDMI mirroring functionality is found in the kernel which is interchangeable between ROMs, its a commonly found feature in all the best kernels available.
Take your pick.
I would recommend one for you.but you didn't mention whether you're running a Sense or AOSP ROM.
If you're looking at flashing any ROM then pick whatever ROM and flash the kernel afterwards.
Me personally I run MikG 3.1 (Sense Rom) and the Classic Kernel (Sense Kernel) and use HDMI out all the time automatically outputs when plugged in.
Ok in will try mik rom. Is the classic kernel a separate flash?
And if I install mik rom, it's hdmiout baked in the rom? Or I have to install an additional apk file
Best combo I have found on the OG EVO is decks reloaded Rom with the baked in mason kernel. Then use the HDMWIN app just make sure its granted SU it does not always automatically prompt it. I use Hdmi on a daily basis without issues.
I found many decks reloaded Rom and kernels, could you point me to the right links?
Also how do you get the market working therre

I'm going to assume you are talking about Myn's 2.2 as I see you have a question on this. Myn's is a sense rom so you don't need to flash gapps.
Did you sign into your google account as the market is tied to it. Have not been on that rom in forever.
Kernels get flashed in recovery. For Myn's rom you can only use Froyo kernels.
Wow...
Yes market is the "play store".
Mason kernel is baked in
Flash gapps GB gapps right after Rom in recovery. Just like it instructs to do so.

It works on stock rom but if you like that stock rom feel but 20x better I would suggest trying tommytomatoe' s classic rom. So much time and effort has gone into that rom it will blow you away.
