Will they ever update this? Because the last update was the end of September. I always preferred this one to Stock.
use it
if you like blazn then use it, and use the startup tool to update or do it manually. thats what i do. runs like a champ. im sure they will update the blazn package soon, til then all i can say is be patient
new blazn
May be that helps

Hey Guys,
When the official Froyo update comes out soon for EVO 4G phones, will I have a problem since I have installed Fresh Evo on my phone? I haven't performed the "full" root NAND method. I just used unrevoked.
Thanks for your help!
You may want to wait until Flipz freshens it up and provides an update that way (it usually doesn't take long after release)...if you want to run the official one, run the RUU and go from there to ensure you have no problems.
I personally havent used the unrevoked method, but I would assume that you would still need to unroot to get the official update. Someone correct me if I am wrong...
Plus we have amazing devs. My hero had 2.1 way before the official update! I guess it's all dependent on when they get the code though.
Alright, cool! Thanks for the info!
Some people will wait for one of the devs to cook up something in case the update breaks root when the official release comes out. No different from iPhone jailbreaks eventually they find away to defeat it.

Will restoring to factory settings remove the new 1.47.... update. I would like to root my phone but I hear with the new update it can't be done. Or is there anyway to get to an older software version
sprint .exe
You can try to use the posted Sprint factory .exe that is located in the roms section of the evo development area. I used it to unroot my phone before the update came out. I'm holding off for a more stable process. All processes are still in beta. My advise is to just do your update then get the official froyo ota then wait for a stable root for that build. I can't say that doing this will work since the latest ota but if you're willing to try then go for it. This should/will put you back to the original shipped build before the .6 ota release. I take no responsibility if doing this bricks your phone.
Good luck.

unrevoked had something up, just wait and they will figure something out.
Thanks I saw the unrevoked 2.0 but didn't know if that was a patched working version or not
With the update coming soon (Here) What do you think would be the best course of action to be? I wanna maintain root. But i wanna go back to stock(with the new update)
?

Wow that's some big new. I'm sure all the devs would love to get a copy of it. I will for sure get it for my wife's evo.
I'm using Fresh 0.5.3 and want to know if I can just update to Froyo. I don't care about losing root since I know it will eventually be rooted again. Will I be able to update over my existing ROM. I don't care about having to reinstall my apps.

Relevant to me as well. Running rooted stock rom for the Evo. Still haven't done any of the OTA updates. So if I do all of the OTA updates I missed to get to the 2.2 update, what will happen? Just remove root?

If you want to maintin root just wait for the developers to incorporate the update into their ROM's same as with the last OTA Update. Also, no one said it will definitely "break" root. Just a good possibility. So be on the safe side if you don't want to loose root... "be patient".

Okay, well how about answering my questions first
I'll update as soon as it hits, Use it until I get home, clear the storage, do a nandroid backup then runs that through a kitchen and flash it back to the phone.
Not terribly clean but effective. If it works. Probably won't since I'm sure the update will wipe the recovery.
So, I guess I'll wait for fresh evo to be updated.

A dev will release a version of 2.2 that has the *$#& that messes up root access pulled out and superuser patched in. Likely this will be down within hours of release, at the very least a couple of days.
All you'll need to do when the rooted version of Froyo is out is to wipe and flash. Just make sure you don't flash the un-rooted stock version that is likely to be floating around.
I frankly don't see anything near good enough (from the leaks) for me to lose everything I get from CM6. I'm sure after a few days, CM6 and the other great roms out there will be updated with the good parts of the update. Until then, no updates for me!

A cleaned out Froyo much like DC 3.2.3 will be better than CM6.

maybe it will, maybe it won't. Either way, I can wait until a rooted version is ready to try it.
The long awaited froyo update came to my wifes stock phone this morning but mine not yet. i installed the earlie release and then used odin to flash back to the stock 2.1 but I didnt get the update, is it being staggered released? or is it because i efed with my phone. can someone link me to where i can download it and not wait for sprint if thats the problem. I cant wait to see if the bugs were really worked out on my wifes phone but that is hours. away. I hope i am the first to post this news
I recived the ota by doing a hard reset. If you don't want to do that then samsung actually posted the download on their page.

Do you mean the update that is from sept 16? WTF? I am only 2 weeks behind on readin in the forums so is this new or old news. Is this the earlie release that crashed my gps and had bug city or is it stable? Well I hope its new and the devs can make a real rom flashable from clockwork pre rooted . How did you do a hard reset?
This is a new update. Not one from September. And the initial roll-out started last night and goes through Thursday. You may have not gotten it because you are later on the list than your wife. Or it may be because you effed with your phone. You need to be on di18 to get the update.
well than i have 3 choices, do the samsung method, wait, or try the doexed through clockwork. can anyone tell me of all three which one is best? i am on DI 18 by the way.
The updates ROLL out to random phones... No one knows the pattern. You could get it later today; or be the last one to get it.

I used the Samsung method following these instructions and had NO issues at all. I didn't care whether I had to reinstall my apps from the market, it was quick and painless. Phone seems to work great! GPS locked almost instantly, Flash already installed with the update.
If you use this method make sure you remove the battery TWICE, per the instructions.

Hey guys.
I am thinking about installing ICS leak but what if official ICS release afterward?
The OS will be exactly same so I do not need to do anything?
or I still need to upgrade or something to be an official version?
if so, there is no problem while upgrading? (leak -> official) no crash?
Thank you!
In my opinion, it could be a problem. I seriously doubt the official release will use an exe file to update the phone, like the leak used. Therefore, the official updating process through OTA or the LG Support Tool might not work.
Of course people will say you just have to unbrick it to the stock V10f ROM. Problem is, when I did that, the OTA update process nor the LG Support Tool would update my phone. Something broke it. I even unrooted it, but no dice. I kept getting a notice for an OTA update, but the install would always fail at 2%. When I used the support tool that I got straight from the LG website, it kept telling me my phone was up to date.
Fortunately I was still in my 30 day trial and I was having hardware issues with it (normal temps of 110°F and basically no battery life). I only installed the leak in the hopes that it would fix it, but it didn't. Even going back to V10f didn't help. My new phone runs great, so I'm waiting for the official ROM.
You guys know any plan for the official?
The official for Korean Nitro was already released in this month.
