This doesnt happen all the time but ive noticed when my screen rotates it sometimes looks funny(in a bad way). I have some pictures attacted. Im not sure if this is a hardware or software issue (I am using a nightly build but this also happens in cyanogen 6 rc2)
This is a bug so it would've been fine to post in the Dev section. So does it do it when rotating back from 90, 180, or 270 degrees of rotation? Or does it do it from all rotations and screw up the screen like that? Fairly easy to see what you're talking about, the bottom of the screen is at the top like a bad vertical alignment on an old tv.
I haven't noticed this happening when auto-rotating. Most of the time, I have auto-rotate off. This mostly happens whenever I slide open the keyboard, but ill turn auto rotate on and see if it does it.
Post back and let us know, might just be a quirk. I have auto-rotate on because I like it and I've never experienced this so hopefully it's as simple as turning that on in settings.
I've noticed less problems w/ auto rotate on. There was only 1 time today when it happened (I was watching a flash video on skyfire) the keyboard was open even before it happened, but auto-rotate on definately helps the problem. This should be looked at in future updates of cm6. Thanks
Edit: umm alright so this only happens when the keyboard is open or slid open, this never happens when the keyboard is closed, whether auto rotate is on or not.

Maybe you have to clean your sd card. It could be a previous rom you've flashed before that left files behind that are now conflicting with your current rom.

Ive completely erased the phone and reset everything and formatted the sd card, but it still seems to have these strange rotation issues, this time as soon as it auto-rotates (the keyboard was even closed) in the "tap the android screen" it does it. Hmmm I'm hoping this isn't a hardware issue, I've never dropped the phone or anything or did anything that would mess the internal hardware up. This started happening about a month ago.

The next thing I would suggest is to flash another rom onto the phone or re-flash the current one. I am 99.9% sure that its just a software glitch and not a hardware issue.

I went from nightly build 185 to 186. I wiped/erased and did everything before flashing 186. Would that be considered flashing another rom or should i try something different, like a froyo sense rom?

Yes, try a completely different rom and see what happens. I hope we can resolve this issue.

I have had this issue using CM 6, the way that I alleviated the problem was to go into settings, cyanogen settings, user interface and then under accelerometer only have 90 checked. That stopped a lot of weird upside down screen rotations.

This happens a lot. Is this normal? If so is it a ram issue with the phone? And is there anyway to improve that?
I haven't got around to permanently rooting my phone I have the stock OTA but if it can fix this somehow I will definitely do it. Thanks in advance

You mean when you press home your homescreen reloads and apps reappear in a few seconds? Seems normal as of now. Running CM6.1.0RC1 still happens. Haven't found anything to really fix this.
Root and overclock problem solved. Zoom zoom

Same here, when I overclock more than 1 g that problem seems to go away.
I used to have the same problem with the good old G1. Back then I thought it was because if not enough memory. Enabling "lock screen in memory" in launcherPro or AWD solved the problem. If you are not using them, run to the market and download one if them. No root needed
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Yea I press the home button and my apps are invisible I guess and it last like 5 to 10 seconds and it happens a lot like every other time I press home.
Well in that case ill try to get around to rooting it.
launcherpro seemed to fix the problem so far thanks.

I'm overclocked at 1.1 and still always experience this problem. Also locked home app in memory in CM settings as well as enabled system persistent and still no fix for me. It's not bad, homescreen always came back. On my myTouch when this happened they'd sometimes just stay gone.

My myTouch stopped as soon as I enabled system persistent and enabled compcache.
Setting my mhz to the lowest number in the screen off setcpu profile seemed to take care of that problem for me, but it only happend to me when I was overclock to 1400+ and only when i unlocked the screen.
I'll be using my phone any way(texting, xda, game) and all of a sudden it'll say in the notification bar "4g disconnected." I dont have 4g in my area so i never turn it on. My phone has about 5 times so far turned on 4g by itself. I never hit the clear button in the notification drawer, so im not accidently hitting 4g there. Has this happened to you? Suggestions as to what yo do?

thats a little strange. it hasn't happened to me at all. and if your signature is accurate its even more unusual because you havent done anything in your phone. maybe an app is toggling it? i know juicedefender can but you have to set it up so it does i believe.
Maybe all those notifications your not clearing are turnin it on for fun after all I would get kinda bored if I was closed in a virtual drawer.
Sorry that wasnt helpful but I couldnt resist

I have NBMod Rev 2 but, it isn't the stock Froyo update since it doesn't have myfaves, all genius button functions plus a few other apps were removed.
So I'm just wondering if anyone is working on it or if there is a way I can add MyFaves and Visual VoiceMail back?
There is a rooted stock rom in the dev forum.
Edit: looks like it is pulled. I have it still so I'll see if I can upload it. But it won't be today or tomorrow maybe Saturday.

If so...update to froyo, with the original stock rom and then root the phone ....
there is a guide for that, for rooting i mean..
But the RUU has the new Hboot in it so it is best to wait. I will see if I can get it up today.

That's the one I'm running, the rooted 2.15.531.3 "stock". He also replaced the HBOOT, so it isn't the new 1.0, mine is showing HBOOT 0.52. I flashed this ROM and also Dark Tremor's A2SD and have /DATA and the dalvik cache going to ext3 partition on SD (using a Class 10 card). I have a ton of apps installed and still show over 100MB free and it is very quick and running great. I love SenseUI, so I've avoided the CM7 ROMs, and the NB rom cut too much out for my taste.

Hello everyone
I had flashed an Aosp rom I can't think of the name right now, it was a newer one, anyway I noticed the camera was force closing so I pointed out to that developer it was an issue. He wasn't why it was fc so I just moved on and tried another Aosp rom. Camera was still the same. I then decide to try and flash all the newer radios ect. Thinking that might fix it but it didn't.
So I went back to a sense rom to try to update prl and profile but didn't help.
Iv tried other camera apps with no success.
What's happening is the it goes immediately black screen and that's it. Sometimes the force close thing pops up other times it just sits on black screen.
I don't know what else to try. In other threads some have mentioned it could be an unfixable problem, this would really suck because they Just had to give me a new one due to a seperate issue.
Can anyone give me an insight into this? I would really appreciate it.
Tyvm

Have you dropped it lately? it could be loose on the board.
I know if you flash the wrong kernel, it'll break the camera among other things. Happened to me when I flashed aosp kernel on a sense Rom by mistake. Try reflashing Rom only after wiping everything except sd card.

Just have them take it apart and push the camera module back down onto the board. It takes literally like 2 minutes. I've done it in 30 seconds before.
When I turn my screen off it flips the image vertically. It gets a little annoying after a while. I'm running Caulk's 2.6 with EK02. It also did this with the previous rom. Is there a solution to this besides turning all animations off?

seems another user was having this issue on StrongSteves rom, didnt get any replies to his/her thread though
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406254&highlight=screen
It's fairly common, it seems to happen when you lock it on the homescreen while in landscape mode. To fix it without rebooting pretend it's right side up and unlock it like you would normally (so you would be swiping in the same place even though the picture is wrong). Then rotate the phone and rotate it back.

im gonna venture to say he means it just inverts the image AS the animation plays. it happens on my calk rom 2.6 el 13 also. i agree, its kinda annoying. i actually wish it would play a little static as it turned off like a tv
Seems to be happening on a few different ROMs that use the CRT animation. Maybe its the EL13-based ROMs
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Yeah my EL13 it doing it too. Annoying as hell. I always have to reboot to get it fixed. I never knew what was causing it but I'll have to try to make it do it now.
Its the ICS screen rotation animation. Strongsteve removed it 2 updates back because he wants no issues whatsoever on his ROM. I addressed the fix on Calkulin's thread as well. There are 2 .so files you can push from previous version that will give you stock rotation animation back and clear that up. You would use Root Explorer or similar file manager and push them individually to system/lib folder
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Merry x-mas everone. like everyone else is saying it happens when shutting the screen off rather its In landscape or vertical view. its so hard to see unless you stair directly at your phone when shutting the screen off which I don't . its a small price to pay to have the smooth ics screen rotations. I haven't had any stuck upside down screens Like some have had.
I was able to fix my flipped screen problem by downloading Spare Parts from the market and changing to Windows Animation to Fast.
Hope this helps.
I think its just a bug in the screen rotation animation because i get it and im running stock with the aio mod

Sorry but everybody saying its from ics is wrong. Thats an issue too on gb and its from crt animation which i believe all developers add to their roms. And the fix like someone said is downloading spare parts and switching the window animation to fast (which will kill the crt effect when powering on and just leave u with the screen shut off crt effect. Ive been on every ics build and never had the problem. Only time i had the problem was on EL29 when i flashed the aio mod for the hotspot hack which also came with crt..

Actually, it is the ICS animation on GB that does it, pretty sure thats what was implied. Not that it happens on ICS. Just elaborating on what you said.

Oh ok i misunderstood. But i believe the only culprit is crt. I never have the problem unless I'm running something with crt animation on it.
