This happens a lot. Is this normal? If so is it a ram issue with the phone? And is there anyway to improve that?
I haven't got around to permanently rooting my phone I have the stock OTA but if it can fix this somehow I will definitely do it. Thanks in advance

You mean when you press home your homescreen reloads and apps reappear in a few seconds? Seems normal as of now. Running CM6.1.0RC1 still happens. Haven't found anything to really fix this.

Same here, when I overclock more than 1 g that problem seems to go away.
I used to have the same problem with the good old G1. Back then I thought it was because if not enough memory. Enabling "lock screen in memory" in launcherPro or AWD solved the problem. If you are not using them, run to the market and download one if them. No root needed

Yea I press the home button and my apps are invisible I guess and it last like 5 to 10 seconds and it happens a lot like every other time I press home.
Well in that case ill try to get around to rooting it.
launcherpro seemed to fix the problem so far thanks.

I'm overclocked at 1.1 and still always experience this problem. Also locked home app in memory in CM settings as well as enabled system persistent and still no fix for me. It's not bad, homescreen always came back. On my myTouch when this happened they'd sometimes just stay gone.

My myTouch stopped as soon as I enabled system persistent and enabled compcache.
Setting my mhz to the lowest number in the screen off setcpu profile seemed to take care of that problem for me, but it only happend to me when I was overclock to 1400+ and only when i unlocked the screen.

This doesnt happen all the time but ive noticed when my screen rotates it sometimes looks funny(in a bad way). I have some pictures attacted. Im not sure if this is a hardware or software issue (I am using a nightly build but this also happens in cyanogen 6 rc2)
This is a bug so it would've been fine to post in the Dev section. So does it do it when rotating back from 90, 180, or 270 degrees of rotation? Or does it do it from all rotations and screw up the screen like that? Fairly easy to see what you're talking about, the bottom of the screen is at the top like a bad vertical alignment on an old tv.
I haven't noticed this happening when auto-rotating. Most of the time, I have auto-rotate off. This mostly happens whenever I slide open the keyboard, but ill turn auto rotate on and see if it does it.
Post back and let us know, might just be a quirk. I have auto-rotate on because I like it and I've never experienced this so hopefully it's as simple as turning that on in settings.
I've noticed less problems w/ auto rotate on. There was only 1 time today when it happened (I was watching a flash video on skyfire) the keyboard was open even before it happened, but auto-rotate on definately helps the problem. This should be looked at in future updates of cm6. Thanks
Edit: umm alright so this only happens when the keyboard is open or slid open, this never happens when the keyboard is closed, whether auto rotate is on or not.

Maybe you have to clean your sd card. It could be a previous rom you've flashed before that left files behind that are now conflicting with your current rom.

Ive completely erased the phone and reset everything and formatted the sd card, but it still seems to have these strange rotation issues, this time as soon as it auto-rotates (the keyboard was even closed) in the "tap the android screen" it does it. Hmmm I'm hoping this isn't a hardware issue, I've never dropped the phone or anything or did anything that would mess the internal hardware up. This started happening about a month ago.

The next thing I would suggest is to flash another rom onto the phone or re-flash the current one. I am 99.9% sure that its just a software glitch and not a hardware issue.

I went from nightly build 185 to 186. I wiped/erased and did everything before flashing 186. Would that be considered flashing another rom or should i try something different, like a froyo sense rom?

I've been using a CM 7 highly build for a week now and its been going great. However there are a few problems I hope you guys can help solve.
When I'm in an app, maybe sms or android market and I hit home, there is a long delay before I see the homescreen.
In some cases it can take up to 5 secs. It doesn't always do this but it usually does when I have been in an app for a while.
Another issue I have is the phone behaves oddly. It will forget what ringtone I've assigned and when the alarm goes off sometimes nothing will appear on screen.
But my main issue is the home screen lag. Any ideas?

I've found the default launcher with CW7 to lag (without heavy tweaking); I gave up on it a long time ago and use LauncherPro, which I find to be quicker. Try using a different launcher, if you're not sold on CM7s default.

Is anyone else having a problem with Sense continually crashing? Almost every other time I go into an app and use it for any length of time, when I exit the app Sense has crashed and I have to watch the stupid loading animation while it restarts. It's happening really regularly.

Incredible how much ram Sense is taking up.
I figured it would take less considering it's more stream lined to look at compared to say Sense 3.
At times it feels like we've got two operating systems competing with each other for resources but slapped together.
It's definitely not ram related. It just did it again with 313 mb free.

Hi globalgpj, can you tell me how you disabled auto updates? I got my new device yesterday and I find that my touch screen and buttons become unresponsive fairly often. The only solution is to press the power button briefly to switch off the screen and on again and the response is ok.
Thanks.
I had this problem too 1st time i started my phone.
What helped for me was a complete system restore and skip the setup-wizard and do all that manually one in SENSE.
Here it shows how it was on my phone (look at 0:30)

If this bothers you return the phone. Htc has had this issue since the Sensation. It will rear its head at some point. It's because Sense uses too much ram and isn't locked in memory so Android will dump it from ram to make room for other apps and then it has to reload which takes longer than most launchers. This reason alone is why I'm staying away from Sense. Try using an 3rd party launcher and it'll work better.

You don't understand. This issue has been confirmed by many people on Sensation running Gingerbread and ICS including me. Adding a line to the build file forcing Sense to be locked in memory. The moment you remove that line (how it is by default) it starts happening.
It's fine, just don't expect this issue to be fixed because to htc its not an issue. It's just the way it is.

I can't remember exactly. But it did solve my problem of sense constantly loading which causes lag or delay in sense loading.
However, check the following:
Go into settings, and at the very bottom is Developer options. Click this option. Then see if this item is ticked :"Show screen updates"... if it is ticked, untick it.
The only thing I have ticked in this option is "Animation", everything else is unticked.
The other thing I also do, is I try not to have my widgets updated constantly. I have my emails checked only every 3 hours, my news reader, greader pro, every 12 hours.
Let me know if this has helped you.

I believe you can only use this script with a rooted device. Is that correct ?
Many people with HTC One X may be locked into a carrier for some period of time and therefore on a Stock ROM !
adding echo ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1 to the local.prop solved the problem on my Desire Z, luckily temproot was enough to edit the file.
I don't suppose there is a way to temproot the One X yet?! I'm not interested in perm rooting my One just yet... I'm too fond of my 2yrs. warranty

This is a confirmed bug (countless people reported it).
I find this very strange.. i have in the last week had one force close on sense, other than that it has been fine
I haven't seen a single force close on anything yet. Had a few random close-without errors on Route 66 and one or two on Sygic, but this is infinitely more stable than my ICS Asus Transformers...

I have to agree with you . That was my problem in the beginning. So I installed Touch Calendar app, and since then, no more problems.

PS. I also went into SETTINGS, clicked on "Accounts and Sync" and check under my gmail account to see how many things were auto syncing. I removed most of them and chose to do them when I needed to. This helped conserve battery and possibly a smoother SENSE operation.
So I thought I'd bring this up and see if others are having the same issue as me. I purchased a Google play galaxy nexus and it recently updated to 4.1.1. I've noticed that since the update there is often some home screen redraw where the icons and launcher reloads on the home screen. I thought maybe it was the flip board app doing that since after I hit home after using it it would redraw the home screen. I've uninstalled but I got another redraw. I have plenty of internal memory. I've also gone into setting, developer settings and allowed only a 4 processes at a time thinking my RSM was being used up. How much ram is available ? Is there a way to figure that out?. Anyone else getting this?. Btw I'm completely stock and not rooted. Never been rooted and no unlocked boot loader. I will not root and flash Roms. Any ideas.

I've been using this app a little while and noticing now that when i hold the launcher open and watch the info scroll or i move around to the various buttons long enough, the launcher freezes and then closes. i discovered this issue after using System Tuner and wanting to see how demanding pie launcher was. basically the mhz tops out fairly quickly and pie launcher crashes.
i am currently running perseus kernel with the cpu clocked at 1800mhz. what further information could i provide to help determine if it is actually pie launcher or something else being wonky?
thank you!

Nope. Go to Settings-Applications/Application Manager-LMT Pie Launcher-Clear Data
so i cleared the app data, programmed a few settings, and same problem. the cpu ramps up to 75% or more and both pipelines max at 1800mhz and the program locks up and subsequently crashes. often right after, the pie launcher shows up in the upper third middle of the screen for a moment before disappearing.
i also tried running stock speeds and that didn't change anything.
any other suggestions?
i disable my live wallpaper, inputed my old settings into LMT, and noticed it still crashes quickly even though the cpu/mhz aren't maxed. frustrating to say the least
I also experienced like that. Just Go to app setting, and choose "pie" only mode from "set touch service mod".. Then it won't crush.
