lmt pie launcher crashing - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been using this app a little while and noticing now that when i hold the launcher open and watch the info scroll or i move around to the various buttons long enough, the launcher freezes and then closes. i discovered this issue after using System Tuner and wanting to see how demanding pie launcher was. basically the mhz tops out fairly quickly and pie launcher crashes.
i am currently running perseus kernel with the cpu clocked at 1800mhz. what further information could i provide to help determine if it is actually pie launcher or something else being wonky?
thank you!

Try the simple things first.
Like, clear the data of your launcher.

Nope. Go to Settings-Applications/Application Manager-LMT Pie Launcher-Clear Data

so i cleared the app data, programmed a few settings, and same problem. the cpu ramps up to 75% or more and both pipelines max at 1800mhz and the program locks up and subsequently crashes. often right after, the pie launcher shows up in the upper third middle of the screen for a moment before disappearing.
i also tried running stock speeds and that didn't change anything.
any other suggestions?

i disable my live wallpaper, inputed my old settings into LMT, and noticed it still crashes quickly even though the cpu/mhz aren't maxed. frustrating to say the least

I also experienced like that. Just Go to app setting, and choose "pie" only mode from "set touch service mod".. Then it won't crush.

sadly that option was already selected i re-selected it and it still crashes

Hi.. I'm sorry for that. Is it ok now? What about trying new version?

Still crashes. I might start from scratch and see what happens. I am running the newest version

When I press home my apps dissapear for a while

This happens a lot. Is this normal? If so is it a ram issue with the phone? And is there anyway to improve that?
I haven't got around to permanently rooting my phone I have the stock OTA but if it can fix this somehow I will definitely do it. Thanks in advance

You mean when you press home your homescreen reloads and apps reappear in a few seconds? Seems normal as of now. Running CM6.1.0RC1 still happens. Haven't found anything to really fix this.
Root and overclock problem solved. Zoom zoom

Same here, when I overclock more than 1 g that problem seems to go away.
I used to have the same problem with the good old G1. Back then I thought it was because if not enough memory. Enabling "lock screen in memory" in launcherPro or AWD solved the problem. If you are not using them, run to the market and download one if them. No root needed
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Yea I press the home button and my apps are invisible I guess and it last like 5 to 10 seconds and it happens a lot like every other time I press home.
Well in that case ill try to get around to rooting it.
launcherpro seemed to fix the problem so far thanks.

I'm overclocked at 1.1 and still always experience this problem. Also locked home app in memory in CM settings as well as enabled system persistent and still no fix for me. It's not bad, homescreen always came back. On my myTouch when this happened they'd sometimes just stay gone.

My mytouch used to do that too lol. But maybe its different for each rom. I started using launcherpro and that doesn't happen anymore

My myTouch stopped as soon as I enabled system persistent and enabled compcache.
Setting my mhz to the lowest number in the screen off setcpu profile seemed to take care of that problem for me, but it only happend to me when I was overclock to 1400+ and only when i unlocked the screen.

White screen with htc when going from apps or app drawer to home screen (sense)

As the title says when I'm in my text app or app drawer, anything I get that screen and sense reloads. How do I make it stop? It's driving me nuts! I'm also on MikG v2.5.
Thanks

Have you wiped cach and dalvic?
Thats where I'd start.
Tried that didn't work.
Check settings in Spare parts. I think it is labeled activity process managment. Set it to normal, not aggressive.

Hey thanks. I did that earlier and it worked. I always set it to aggressive on my epic so I figuredi could get away with it on the evo.
I would use the v6 supercharger script. That should take care of the reload problem. Plus running apps2sd in a partitioned setup should help.
Sent from my HTC_supersonic using XDA App
Yea when I was having this problem real bad I tried the setting in spare parts, only worked for about 2 days. The fix that finally worked for good was running the V6 supercharger script and setting the launcher "hard to kill". Now I haven't had a sense reload in over two weeks.

Experiencing touchwiz lag

Hey guys,
Is anyone else experiencing constant restarting of the TouchWiz launcher? It always seems to happen whenever I leave an app to go the main screen the launcher always seem to restart itself. Is there something in the settings I'm missing? I happened to like this launcher a lot, just the restarting drives me crazy lol . It's never like a smooth transition from app to home screen. Thanks guys
Try in developers options changing windows animation scale and transition animation scale to .5 or even off.

I did changed the windows animations scale, but is still doing it. My guess is a launcher issue.

I was running stock, but I decided to factory reset and I believe that might've fixed the constant launcher refreshing. So far is running smoother now. Weird

reinstall apps one by one, and see what happens. It could be an app messing with it

never had that happen.. full wipe and reset or flash another rom.

Yeah that is exactly what I did and the phone is running much better than before. It was just so annoying because I just got this phone like days ago and I wasn't really expecting something like this from one of the best phones in the market right now. I believe it all started when I restored all my apps when I first logged into the phone.

[Q] scrolling lags on XDA apps ?

i am using XDA Premium nothing noticed so far its smooth,
Could you clear Cache for this app and Data and re setup and try again .
I get it sometimes, depending on what kernel / rom I'm using. I use it to test kernel / rom smoothness as a test.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Thanks in fact i'm using perseus kernel, but i think it depend on which apps i'm using. On some apps i have no lag.
I also use pheonix rom, but if i want to eliminate these lags, i'll loose some battery life.
I think i'll buy zerolemon battery and put higher settings on the kernel. But i really need the settings for color on perseus kernel and i don't know if any other kernel use it?
If you're on Stock Rom then there'll be lag, in xda, in Tapatalk, when scrolling in my files and almost everywhere else. But since I moved to Android Revolution HD, almost 50% of those lag things are gone. Now when I scroll through Tapatalk, or in Twitter, it's just smooth as hell. Well not iOS or WP smooth, but for Android it's more than enough. Honestly I've never believed or seen a droid phone could perform this fluidly.
I sounded like a custom Rom fan, but let me tell you, I actually hate them, and always preferred stock ROMs, but this ARHD is something.

I just tick force GPU rendering and disable hardware overlays in developers options and lags are gone on my stick rom. Shrugs.

That does work, but some apps...most noticeably the email app doesn't play nice with that setting.

Really? Because I recently have left both those ticked because I haven't had any other problems in other apps. Never had a problem with email app ever. I ticked both of those approximately two months ago and still haven't run into any color or cache scrolling problems. Heck it seems a couple of other apps lost the infamous xda lag. Cant believe xda app is still laggy.

Try this: Set it on, go into the email app and click into an email (not just inbox but an email) now scroll quickly. For me I always see distortion...I've tried many times with different roms / kernels but its always the same. Not a biggy though, I just use another email app now
Edit: Im talking about the email app not gmail app btw.
Lol. That is due to Mali's slower fill rate. And once you scroll through all of it, it doesn't do it anymore. Same in the browsers. You're less likely to see that on a power vr or adreno platform.

Ahh I see, though distortion is distortion, whatever the reason
It annoyed me anyway, so i changed email app. All good now.
I already have gpu rendering enabled. But i didn't try to disable overlays hardware gpu. I'll try thanks!

God I am so stupid! I fell for this, flashed back Stock ROM and enabled those options! Now after half an hour I am flashing back ARHD and restoring backup.
Thanks a lot for wasting my 30 mins and the rickshaw tour from my Ferrari.

It has nothing to do with gpu rendering. You can replicate it in many browsers with it with out GPU rendering ticked. It can minor or major issues but I just haven't run into any lately, so for now it stays permanently ticked til I come across something elsemucked up.

Hmmm, I only see it with Force GPU enabled.
Lags still here even if i activate 2 options on developers tools about gpu.

can i stop all running apps at once ?

can i stop all running apps at once ?
Be more specific. For what, why, and how
I believe that going to the app switcher (square button) then hitting Clear All will close everything.
no ..
even when i close the, they still running i think .. i want to stop them all .. form the app manager

Why exactly? No good can come from doing this.
You can go to developer options and set the process limit lower.

What you're asking to do is pointless and counterproductive. Android manages memory for maximum efficiency already

In theory. Don't forget this is 5.1.0
Closing all in recent tasks will close programs that are not set to always run in the background. Force quitting all apps is pretty pointless though, and if not regularly like a task manager will hurt battery life as the apps fire back up again.
Your best bet is to use Greenify, add all the apps you want quit, and use a custom action like double tap to hibernate and then shut the screen off. This will force quit all applications you select.
