Device dead? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

My Polaris seems dead.
No response with the following key combination:
# power button
# reset button
# reset + ie + mail buttons (Hard Reset)
# reset + camera buttons (bootloader)
I removed the battery during 1 hour.
I have no led indication when I connect the device with power adapter.
What can I do?

How to hardware reset Touch Pro2?
RHOD100 MFG 32M SS-BC 0.74.1000
I recive answer from HTC:
The way you do a hard reset on a touch Pro 2 is :
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset
Thank you once again for your continued patronage.

But, this instruction not work.
Try holding the Vol Up and Down together and Reseting with the Stylus. (Just a guess BTW )
P.S. Did you get my PM ?
Thanks

From what I've read about the Topaz:
Hold Vol UP and Vol DOWN together (keep them pressed down and do not release). Then press the reset button with the Stylus and hold it for a few seconds, then remove the stylus keeping vol up and down pressed.
Or if the device is off hold down Vol Up and Vol Down (keep them both pressed until you see the message) and then Power On.
A Hard Reset is usually a two button combo whilst the device is powering on (either from a reset or from a cold boot).

That screen reads like the software is dead due to it being a beta test.

Ok, here it is.
To hard reset Touch PRO 2 you have to press power + start call (green) + end call (red) buttons. Hold them all and press reset button. Keep holding them untill you see screen that says to press volume up button to reset .

Think he meant to say, turn the phone off, hold start call and end call keys and then press power on while holding down the two buttons. Nothing needed with the reset button.

Hard reset without stylus :)

For those of us who get frustrated with the reset button being hidden under the TP2 cover, I'm happy to have just discovered that you don't even need to go there... Just hold down the volume down button and do a soft reset from within the software and hey presto. Same result.
For a hard reset?
Never needed a stylus.
Just navigate to Settings - All Settings - System - Clear storage - 1234 - Done.
Easy enough with my finger.
And where do you find a soft-reset button on you Rhodium??
(I had to install Smaberg's util for a softreset button)
personally I downloaded the "reboot" app from the market place...

take the cover off, opposite side of the vol. buttons.
Holding down the volume? That doesn't do anything on my Tilt2.
I usually use the HD Soft Reset applet that installs along with HD Tweak (placed it in the TouchFlo Programs tab for quick access). Or else I just hold the power button to shutdown, then power up again. The latter "usually" works when other things on the phone are locking up. But occasionally the phone will be completely frozen, and I need to resort to the stylus button inside the battery cover.
Vol Down? this accesses the boot loader not Hard Reset!
in anycase you don't need the stylus my friend.
Hard Reset : Switch Off the phone, hold call + endcall and power button.
Boot Loader : Switch off the phone, Hold Vol Down + power button.
cheers
^ What he said. I just hard reset the other day using this method, worked like a charm
Any way to reset the phone when it's locked up without taking the cover off?

[Q] Voice dialing & Screen shots not as simple as I'd hoped

Hi,
1) Does anyone have Voice Action command dialing working? Whenever I try to do it all I get is a numberof suggested Google search results for "call xxx yyy". Now most of my contacts are Swedish names and I guess that may be a bit difficult (?) but I get the same result also for the English named contacts in my phone. Can the fact that all my contacts are imported from Exchange be a reason for this?
2) I cannot, for the life of me, get the screen-shot function to work. I press the power button and then the vol-down button and all that happens is that the volume indicator comes up and goes down to "silent". And "yes" I am keeping the powerbutton pressed the whole time. Any thoughts on what I've missed?
Grateful for any ideas that'll make me appreciate this otherwise very slick piece of hardware...
Cheers/M

Restarting a Lumia 900 after a Device Freeze

This is not an original idea. Lots of info in several different threads. Thought I would pull it into 1 with a Title to go with it.
I've tried every step in all the threads about restarting and resetting the Lumia 900. These are the ones that work for me.
First, the information is located on the Nokia support page here. Its titled, " How do I restart a device which has an integrated battery if the device jams or freezes", and is located in the Support FAQs. Essentialy, hold the power button for 8-10 seconds. The device will power off. Once the device is off, you and power it back on like usual.
Button combination to hard reset the device are located here, The article is located, again, on the Nokia Support page and is titled, "Device turn offs?restarts /freezes."

You have the following three (3) options:
Warning: try options 2 and 3 only if option 1 does not help, as the reset means the personal data is erased. Options 2 and 3 erases all the personal content, including apps that have been purchased and downloaded (may be re-downloaded again) and restores the factory settings.
1) Reboot your phone.
For phones with integrated battery (e.g. Nokia Lumia 800):
1.Press and hold the power key for about 10 seconds.
2.To switch your phone on again, press the power key
For phones with removable battery (e.g. Nokia Lumia 710):
1.Switch off your phone.
2.Remove the battery.
3.After a few seconds, re-insert the battery and switch on your phone.
2) Select Settings > About > reset your phone.
3) If the phone software has frozen, you can perform a hardware reset.
1.Press and hold the volume down and camera keys.
2.Press and hold the power key.
3.When the phone screen goes black, release the power key, but continue holding the volume down and camera keys, until the phone reboots.
These are the only steps I could reproduce on my phone. It cost me my last setup because I really didn't think it would work. The others did not. Oh well. My lumia 900 paid a price for the service of all !!

My Lumia 900 shut off on me, and no matter what i couldn't get it to turn back on. So i called my friend at the local AT&T store and he told me the hard restart trick for it, and also the total wipe restart trick. So here it is for anyone else who gets the unresponsive black screen..... I did the hard reset on mine and it is working perfectly fine, and I did not lose any of my apps, contacts etc...
For the hard restart -Hold the DOWN VOLUME BUTTON & THE POWER BUTTON IN ( AT THE SAME TIME ) UNTIL IT RESTARTS.
For the total hard reset - HOLD THE DOWN VOLUME BUTTON, THE POWER BUTTON, & THE CAMERA BUTTON IN ( AT THE SAME TIME ) UNTIL IT RESTARTS.
I hope this helps out if you have the same thing happen to yours.

as mentioned previously, and on the Nokia site, holding the power button down for 10 seconds or so, will do the job. No need to hold the volume down. Go ahead, try it. It works.
Vol down +camera, press power until it vibrates is the recommended hard reset(return to factory) settings. Continuing to hold the power button may initiate a restart before a reset is done. Go ahead, try it. You'll see the difference.
I've actually tried all these combinations. Vol down+power is just a wasted button press, but no harm. Power continually through a reset could force unwanted reboot.

after trying this several times, it appears that volume down+power may additionally reset or clear IE cookies . When performing those steps, all is passwords are blanked, is history is gone, and at least once, my exchange email was reset. Exchange was treated like I never synced before. It's setup, bit acts like first sync.
I'll look further into this.
Wonder if the Vol Down/Power Button simulates a battery pull, which is different than power off/on. Maybe discharging a capacitor or something to clear cache.
Btw, would have quoted your comment but I updated Board Express this morning and they screwed it up again. Error when trying to quote.

no worries, I am not able to duplicate this. I have noticed that is in WP, when running into a problem, will stop, return to desktop. Upon starting is again, history appears to have been cleared. I know this is a default action in WP, for apps as well as ie, so this may have been a coinincidence when I tried power down.
I think if the keystroke was significant, Nokia would have listed it on their support page. AT&T on the other hand does also sell Samsung and HTC phones, which have various button combinations. Confusing the button combos would be an easy unintentional thing to do.

Getting into recovery Mode no power button (resolved. Answer inside)

Hello,
I want to upgrade my unit from Android 6 to 8 but I have never been able to get into recovery mode with the buttons on my unit. I do have a reset, and I do have physical buttons, but I can hold the reset button and the lights never flash. I also dont have a power button, instead the knob, which I push it down is a mute mode. ive tried using the method between the reset key and mute knob with no success, I've also tried holding the reset key for 15 sec, 30 sec, 1 min. The lights never flash.
I tried the keyboard method, but it doesnt appear my keyboard is responsive until android begins to boot, the numlock key doesnt respond.
The keys on my unit are as follows:
Navi, Band, Menu, Mode, Knob for Volume, that knob pushes down to mute. The other side I have eject, track forward, track reverse, play/pause and a knob for tuning the radio/dimming lights.
Can I modify the mcu to change what the buttons do? Please help!
halp!
no one?
YES!!! I figured it out!!
I went into key study, changed the push button for the left volume knob from mute to power button. Then its just normal procedure. Hold down the new power button until it turns off. push it again for it to turn on and hold it down to go into recovery.
Hopefully this helps someone in the future
