[Q] Inadvertently Deleted Stock Launcher - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After trying Launcher Pro, I decided to stay with the Froyo stock Launcher on my G2. Using Titanium Backup Pro, I inadvertently deleted the stock Launcher instead of Launcher Pro. Titanium Backup Pro does NOT give me an option to restore the stock Launcher. What do I need to do to restore or re-install the stock Launcher?
BTW, I rooted with Visionary r10 and have rec'd OTA update.
Many thanks in advance.

Answer to my own question: reboot and stock launcher is reinstalled automatically, sans 7 pages of setup.

How Do I Restore Launcher Desktops

I installed an new ROM and backed up my data and apps using Titanium, Rom Manager and Nandroid, (just to be sure) but when I restored my data and apps the desktop launcher (Sense UI) did not restore the saved 'Scenes'. I did a Nandroid restore to get everything back, including older ROM, but that was not my goal. How or what do I restore to retrieve my saved 'Scenes' into my new ROM? Thanks for any help.
What is the name of the new ROM that you are running? is this new ROM sense compatible?
I'm using Fresh 3.0.2

[Q] Doing a nandroid backup

If I flash a new Rom and I boot into recovery and restore my backup via nandroid backup
Will all my apps and homescreens be the way I set them before i went to the new rom?
However you settup your rom, what apps you installed, wallpaper, themes etc, when you make a nandroid backup it backups the entire rom as it is, and when you restore it will put it back just like it was before you did your nandroid backup.
so in other words, yes
Cool so lets say I decide to go with a different Rom...and I restore my backup in the Recovery. Would it put all my apps and and screens the way I had my other Rom? or would it put my old Rom and stuff back on there?

It would put your apps & widgets etc back where they were, but your rom will be whatever it was when you did the backup.
For example, if you're running cm 6 & run a backup then flash something like myn's (just as an example), then restore your backup after flashing the new rom, you'll be back on cm6. There isn't a good way to backup homescreens. If you backup & restore in ADW Ex, I know it'll restore your shortcuts but not widgets. I'm not sure about other launchers.
ah, yeah I understand. What a bummer! It's always a pain in the butt to put everything back. Thanks!

Use Titanium backup it'll back up ur apps and there data so if u use a launcher it backs up the layout
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
It's not really that difficult to restore apps and homescreens. Use Titanium backup to restore apps and data between roms (I wouldn't recommend restoring system apps though). Another option is MyBackup Pro, which can restore apps+data and also does "Android Home" backups aka homescreens, except for the widgets. If you use LauncherPro Plus, you can make a backup of your homescreens and restore it when you re-install LPP, except for widgets on your homescreen like MBPro.

[Q] A push in the right direction

Hello. My first post here and I'm hoping someone can help me out. I rooted my Evo with unrevoked and flashed my first rom yesterday. Finding info for rooting and rom installs was easy. However, being a noob at this there are little things I can't seem to find any info on. I flashed Myn's Warm 2.2 using Rom Manager and screwed up the addons right off the bat.It took 2 more flashes for me too realize the reason I kept losing the Launcher Pro theme was because I would batch install my apps with stock LP not realizing I was overwriting the new one. LOL Anybody know of any links with info about building your rom i.e.(addons) after you've flashed it? I'm just tired of reinstalling my apps after each flash. I want to move forward with root but can't for fear of starting all over again.
What you need to do is open up titanium backup, and batch backup all your apps. Periodically backup your launcher settings, adw[ex], lanucher pro, ect. Before you flash, backup your current rom. Once you flash a new rom, all you have to do is go back into titanium backup, batch restore all apps, then restore your launcher settings.

[Q] How to backup homescreen layout/settings

Hey all,
I am running Incredible 2 3D with the stock Sense launcher. I have everything perfect, but as you all know, either something happens, or you want to try a new ROM. Is there anyway to backup layout/settings on the STOCK Rosie; like you can with LauncherproPLUS??
try backing up rosie with titanium backup, i wouldnt restore the data on any rom other than the one you created the back up on though.

Nova Launcher restore home screen from nandroid backup?

I wasn't able to backup my nova launcher settings since my phone would not boot. I was only able to make a nandroid backup. Where is the nova launcher settings located? Is there a way to extract the home screen settings?

Restore the nandroid and go into the Nova Settings. You can export a backup file of your settings to reload when you reinstall Nova with the updated rom. Or use something like Titanium to do it.
My phone won't boot correctly so I just took a backup of its current state. I can't get into nova settings.
