If I go on the the htc.america.com website and download the mobile 6 update ROM does it come with the Radio? I ask because I need to set my phone back to default. If it doesn't include the radio, can some tell me which radio is used with default settings.

HTC America doesn't have WM6 available for download and won't for the 8525. It's WM5. But it does include the radio.

Uhh.... you sure about that?

Third link down that says "Windows Mobile 6 upgrade is now available for HTC TyTN!"

I was halfway joking... J0KER. The question has been asked about a hundred times (at least) already.
There is no "official" WM6 upgrade currently available on HTC America's website. It is scheduled to be released sometime later this year.
By the way, the link you gave is for the HTC TyTN, not the AT&T 8525, as was requested.
Nice first post.
Better luck next time.
Who said ATT would update the rom?
They would not make any money off of it so they have no desire to do that.

If you actually go to the site instead of having the mystery unfold in this thread, you will find all of the information you need.
According to a post on coolsmartphone, this will be easy now. See
http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownloadList.aspx?p_id=133&cat=all
Does not seem to work just yet, but whwn it does everyone should be able to download the latest ROMs.
I Tryed It ;(
and got this!
Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device
I wish it would accept my SN on any of the regional sites!

I dont think it works with any of the branded htc diamonds like orange or vodafone,as you cant register the serial number. It will only wor for sim free handsets

Do you happen to know why they dont let you register a branded handset, considering how many people get theyre phones on contract.

Because in that case the Provider is the oe that should offer support not HTC!

I think its because branded handsets are seen to be paid for by the network or subsidised so its the networks responsibility to make updates available.
We all know this is, to put it politely, complete pants, and it should be as easy as going onto HTC's website and then choosing your mobile type and then having the option of which network you have, along with the location.
just downloaded the latest ROM from the link in the first post... just had to put the serial number in (from under the battery).
cheers,
Vodafone users do not seem to able to register on the HTC web site, I have sent an email to HTC, but not yet had any replies. Does any one know, where or how to download the latest ROM upgrade?

Heey people,
could someone please tell me where to get the latest official rom from HTC?
Cus i have a branded version of the Diamond, so i cant download it from their site.
I hope one of you knows where to get that latest version without having to use the serialnumber of my phone, because that serial number doesn't work.
Thanks in advance!

Okay, I need to apologize because I didn't see this post was on the forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413910.
But 1,93 isn't really that up to date, is this the only post containing original roms that you guys know off, because i've used the search function a billion times by now, with a dictionary full of keywords, but i haven't found anything higher than 1,93.
Thanks in Advance!
Bryan
my orange branded phone doesn't let you download the update either
although in all honesty apart from that one thread i haven't searched for the offical rom yet, just starting to get fed up of the little things that don't work that you rarely use in custom roms

That's why i started this thread really, I just want the official rom on it again, so i can enjoy the 'functionallity' that it should have.
I'm not saying that those custom roms suck or something, i LOVED using them, really! But im thinking of selling my phone, and i don't want to sell it disfunctioning.
So, please help me out haaha
Thanks,
Bryan

These are obviously newer than the ones found in the link i posted earlier. I found a 2.03 version in that post which is Dutch, so if this is the latest we can get in Holland, i'll be definatly downloading that version.
Thanks Stead, for finding this post!

Hi there XDA, I've asked a similar question to this before, however since then some things have changed and it's got me wondering, what the hell is going on over at HTC with these software build numbers?
I recently aquired a replacement phone from Orange UK for a Desire HD. The software version on the phone I sent to them was 1.32, however the phone I recieved was running a software version of 1.72, I know for a fact that when I sent that phone to them, there were no updates available, and the thing is, it's a door to door thing. Both handsets are exactly the same, they are both de-branded yet have an Orange logo on the back.
It's sorta fustrating because I know that one of these builds i clearly the one I should have, but I don't know which is which, would someone be kind enough to explain and point me in the right direction of the ROM i should flash? Thanks, and btw im in the UK.

If you want to root etc it would be easier on the 1.32 version but is still easy to do on the 1.72 version, you just use a different approach.
All the answers you need are in the development forum. Don't need to put a link here for you, it's not hard to find. Alternatively, use the link in my sig.
What ROM you SHOULD flash is up to YOU. YOU decide what one YOU like the most.

Your in luck, if you do not want to root, and have a unbranded handset you can have official HTC Gingerbread. An HTC RUU with the upcoming 2.3 release was leaked.
Check THIS thread and download the RUU.exe
