When I try to restore adws backup all I get on screen is a bunch of placeholders instead of Widgets. I remove them one at a time n replace with its respective widget.
You restore the backup then reboot your device...

LauncherPro does the same thing (backup/restore)

I'm new to launcherpro. Any tips or tricks I should know?

My first recommendation would be to shell out the couple bucks and get LauncherPro Plus. It has a ton of extra features and, in my opinion, the most efficient Facebook widget.
I like the swipe gestures(long press on a dock icon, then choose swipe gesture action...) this comes in handy for reading texts or pulling up your bookmarks quickly.

launcherpro works great. even the free one is fine unless u like to resize ur widgets or whatever.
customize ur dock, change ur icon arangements
turn off the app drawer icon, and relocate it to ur home button when on home. its just a customizable launcher replacement. do not use 3d drawer.
Why no 3D drawer? That's what I'm using and it works great?

There's not really anything wrong with it, it just looks tacky.

Agreed. Looks fake and overdone. The stock 3D drawer is preferable to it...

Icons and docks to customize it, and make it yours.

Not sure but getting an iphone would do the trick lol.

Yeah, I was going to suggest ADW too, but the tradeoff to that is that you lose Sense and all it's widgets. For some people, that might be fine, but depending what you're looking for, it might be a dealbreaker. I'm not sure if any of the custom sense roms offer that option. Maybe someone else could chime in about that.
So I recently started using ADW EX and I really like it. I was using LPP but I didn't uninstall it because I didn't want to lose the pro version. My question is having both launchers killing my battery/slowing down my phone ? My LPP has no icons or widgets on it.

As far as I know, only one launcher should remain in memory at one time. I've had multiple home launchers on my G2, and when I'm not using one of them I always remove the widgets just to be safe. You should be fine leaving both on your phone.
Thank you very much.

Hello, I have an HTC EVO 4g and one of the nicer features is being able to group applications on the homescreens of the stock launcher. Is this possible on the Epic 4G Touch?
Thanks
Switch the sprint Id from Samsung to the other one and drag one icon to the other and it will be done

Thank you for the response. I'm not familiar with the Epic. How do I switch the ID?
*Edit: Figured out the Sprint ID feature. Thanks
Third party launchers based off stock such as apex and nova can do that, and way more. I'd recommended checking one of those out, way more customization available. I personally use apex but both are great!

Title says it all. I'm running the latest cm10 with the trebuchet stock launcher. Wanting a launcher that supports scrollable widgets while also having the persistent Google search bar ... any ideas which one will do this? Any free? Or will I have to buy my first app?

I use Nova. It has what you're looking for and its free unless you want the pro features, I also used apex for a long time, they are both really good. I feel nova is a little smoother

Thanks! Last question on this... Can launchers kill battery faster than stock launchers?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
Oh boy. Tried nova. Didn't work for a scrollable widget I have. Holo did. But no persistent search. Holo HD had the search but no option to enable scrolling widgets. :banghead:

My apologies I've never used scrolling widgets so I didn't know it did not work. As far as battery I have never noticed any extra drain by using different launchers.

Until UKB and Viper I was using CM10 and Apex Launcher was my go-to. It's got the persistent search bar as an option and also used my scrollable calendar widget with it.
EDIT: It's also free with the option to buy, which gives you more customization.

+1 on apex. I have a calendar widget that scrolls and it offers the persistent search.
I'm using the photo contacts widget and it won't work w apex. If you look on the market it says adw, go, etc ... any launcher that supports scrollable widgets. So should I assume the widget is at fault? Is there an option to enable it in apex that I'm missing?
Any of you guys have suggestions on a good contacts widget? I like the photo contacts one and have used it since day 1 but maybe its time to move on....

I haven't used it, so it's hard to say, but they don't specifically mention nova or apex. Wish I could be more helpful.
I've used nova, apex, and go, and I always seem to go back to trebuchet, I hardly ever use Widgets so its the cleanest launcher for me

Take a look at the most recent reviews for ADW launcher.....looks like the dev screwed up bad, or people are stupid.

Yes indeed... version 1.3.3.7.... see what they did there? LoL... I haven't used it yet though... I'm sure it's great, ADW was always my launcher when on gingerbread or CM7... wonder how it mixes with CM9 or 10....

Sure.
Not a big fan of the pop up menu in the new ADW. Would like to see it as optional. Also the transitions are a bit choppy even with some speed tweaks. Those were the only things I have noticed off the bat. I plan on playing with it more but will probably revert to Nova pending future ADW EX updates.

I'm using scrollable widgets on nova.
I'm confused as why you guys cannot maybe because I am prime?
