Can someone put this in simple terms apparently me reading directions is not working. I've put the RA inc file in the root of my sd card, when I run unrevoked it says failed to flash recovery.
It never works and I'm at the end of my rope.

I know that you have to format the sd at fat32. What I had to do for my Dinc SLCD is to:
Connect to computer via usb/drive
copy the entire sd card to computer
format sd at fat32
copy everything back to sd
and I believe that you need to rename the file to PB31IMG.zip
Here is a link to a page that explains it all
I've formatted my card.. this is WHY this isn't making sense.
I FINALLY got it..thanks again.

I'm currently on baseband 1.00.03.04.06 and I'm trying to update to 2.15
After I applied unrevoked forever (Shows S-off now) I put the zip in the root of my sd card, and then rebooted into the HBOOT screen. As far as im aware its supposed to ask me if I want to update but it doesn't. Instead it says "No Image!"

Ok here come the storm of questions :S
How do I check which format its in?
If its not fat32 how do I format it to fat32 (Im gonna guess mount as disk drive then right click>format, on my computer)
And Won't i lose everything on my sd card if i format?
yes, you will mount it as a disk drive and the right click on your SD card and it will say if it is FAT32 or not.
If it is not Fat32, the copy all of your personal data off of the SD card onto your computer. Then you will right click on the SD card again and click "Format..." You will choose FAT32 and then click format, it won't take long. Then move all you personal data back onto you SD card.
Make sure the radio image is named PB31IMG.ZIP. Boot into HBOOT and it will automatically recognize the file and it will ask you to update the radio and probably recovery as well.
Hope this helps!

thx fixed my issue
Hi can any one help i tried to install the desire hd rom, the instructions suggested partitioning sd card before installing the rom
which i tried to do using Mini tool partition wizard unfortunetly after wiping partition and the creating new partion my sd card would not mount as i wasnt sure if i should have formated the sd card at this point as that option was still available. but the instructions didnt mention wether i should have formated after creating new partition.
So anyway to cut a long story short i switched the phone of instead, hoping that when i restarted it i would be able to mount the sd card. But now i had a new problem my phone now would not detect my sd card altogether
Does any one know how i can make my sd card detectable again or will i need to fork out for a new sd card
Have you tried it in another device, say a PC card reader?
Had the same issue. Everything worked fine after formatting the SD card with Gparted. What I did wrong is that I made 3 EXT4 partitions for Data2SD and the computer didn't recognize the card. Used Recovery to mount the card and Gparted to repartition it. Everything worked fine afterwards.
yes sort of tried my friends sd card in my desire and it detected it so its definetly the my sd card that faulty
thanks for replying to my message i tried mounting the sd card in recovery using recovery manager but my phone wont mount it as it not detecting the sdcard do you think i might have better luck with gparted and if so do you have a link where i might be abe to down load it.
i decided to make an ext partition on my sd card so i could move over even more application data over to external, however it didn't work to my liking so i decided to get rid of it and just stick with a full FAT partition instead. Except now my 8gig card only shows something like 3gigs and nothing i could find so far in windows or Linux allows me to see the ext partition to format and make FAT again... any ideas?
this was done with and I'm still running clockwork mod
if you have amonRA v2.3 as your recovery, boot to it and then select partition SD card. Place a zero for the SWAP, when promoted, zero for ext2 and the rest for FAT. Make sure to transfer the contents of your card to a computer or external drive before starting this procedure.
Update: I see that you're using CWM. You can select amonRA ( PC36IMG.zip) from my signature, place it on the root of your SD card and boot to the bootloader to install it.

Just had a quick question. I'm rooted and running BlazingRom beta 5 and in wanting to partion my 8gb class 10 sd card. I've read up and read that it wipes EVERYTHING on the sd card. Since everything will be deleted, how am I supposed to re-flash the same rom right after I partion? Will I have to use Adb? If I don't use adb and don't flash a Rom and just reboot after I partion , will I be in a bootloop or will the BlazingRom still be installed? Sorry, I think I'm ovrrthinking this lol. Thanks.

You can erase your SD card and boot up your phone and it will boot into your current rom, its stored on your phone. Copy your SD to your computer and partition it then restore your data to your SD from your computer and you're good to go

Back everything up to the computer then partition the card. You should have an option in recovery as "Mount as MS" or something of the sort. After partitioning and converting it to ext3, while you are in recovery, plug up your phone to the computer and Mount as MS. Mounts your phone to the computer so you can transfer files back and forth your card

So I lost my 16gb SD card and ended up upgrading to a 32gb SDHC class 4 sd card.
I have all my flashable files copied over to this card (Calks Format All, xxx-ROM, etc.) I have Odin'd back to EL26 CWM. When I try to flash anything it'll list the zip file being flashed then says "(Bad)" right below it then "installation aborted".
I decided to switch the SD card, throw a 1gb in there for grins and then try to flash. It worked like a charm. So it has to be something with the SD card. Idk what "class" the 1gb is (if that even matters), but I did notice the 1gb was formatted to FAT and the 32gb was Fat32. Does the format make any difference?
Am I missing something? I never had this problem before upgrading to the 32gb
Also, I store all my music on the 32gb and can access it just fine. I only have problems when I try to flash stuff thats on it

Maybe a bad card?
I'd try it in another device. (Oops never mind, saw that you could access music from it)
Maybe the files you copied over to it corrupted? I'd download new files and try again.
My sd card that I use all the time to flash off of is also FAT32 so that cant be it. I'd just do what Esoteric68 said.

I thought about that since it said (Bad) underneath the zip being flashed, but I tried re-copying several files and re-downloading the Zips from different sources. all to no avail.
Have you tried to reformat the card?

I tried it while it was in the phone, but I just removed it an plugged it into my PC and formatted it that way.
I'm going to upload a zip to it and try to flash something in a minute here.
Ok so re-formatting directly at my PC may have worked. I successfully flashed the Rapps update for the Frankenstein ROM. Hopefully this fixed whatever issue the card was having and its smooth sailing from here on out
Glad it worked for you. If I ever start having problems with a card first thing I do is copy the files from my card to PC, then reformat, then copy files back... seems to fix problems most of the time.
Yeah it's possible for it to still see media files on a sdcard that is in need of reformatting. The files system does need to be FAT32 instead of FAT.
