[Q]Radio 2.15 update - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm currently on baseband 1.00.03.04.06 and I'm trying to update to 2.15
After I applied unrevoked forever (Shows S-off now) I put the zip in the root of my sd card, and then rebooted into the HBOOT screen. As far as im aware its supposed to ask me if I want to update but it doesn't. Instead it says "No Image!"

Ok here come the storm of questions :S
How do I check which format its in?
If its not fat32 how do I format it to fat32 (Im gonna guess mount as disk drive then right click>format, on my computer)
And Won't i lose everything on my sd card if i format?

yes, you will mount it as a disk drive and the right click on your SD card and it will say if it is FAT32 or not.
If it is not Fat32, the copy all of your personal data off of the SD card onto your computer. Then you will right click on the SD card again and click "Format..." You will choose FAT32 and then click format, it won't take long. Then move all you personal data back onto you SD card.
Make sure the radio image is named PB31IMG.ZIP. Boot into HBOOT and it will automatically recognize the file and it will ask you to update the radio and probably recovery as well.
Hope this helps!

When you do full stock RUU , the sd card dont have nothing to do , just Internally. But you can format the sd card and put the factory SD folder i prepared and zip in here: http://www.mediafire.com/?6vm3l1d47kx2vs8 Decompress the file and open it and throw all the folders inside in you SD card after format. You SD card will show up as factory
Enjoy it!!

What are you talking about????? The OP clearly asked if anybody had the original files from the stock SD card, thats what he was giving him, a way to return his card to stock. Of course he doesn't HAVE to do that to his SD card but for whatever reason he WANTS to.

I was new once also and have asked some DUMB questions so ill follow his comment wish a reason. Root does not store on your SD card its all internal memory files. Only hand SD had in the root was flashing zip files from the card in the internal memory
I appreciate you being helpful and nice about it I no I'm a noob just didn't want to mess my phone up and after thinking about it I just pulled it and everything was fine.

I actually have a question regarding this.
I want to upgrade to a 16gb sd card and was wondering if there is a thread showing step by step instructions to do so.
I'm rooted and have a couple roms backed up along with titanium backing up my apps.
Do I really have to format the new sd card to fat 32? the 2gb sd card that came with it seems to work fine which I believe isn't formatted fat 32.
Is it really as easy as copying and pasting over??? I did not partition the sd card.
Also, after searching the forums I ran into a concerning thread regarding sd cards that DON'T work.... should I be worried?

If you want to transfer your files from the 2gb sd card to the 32 gb sd card just copy all files to the 32 gb sd card. Be sure to format the 32 gb sd to FAT32. I dont know how you didnt have to format your other card to fat32 unless you havent turned s-off. But anyways to format it to fat32 just plug in phone to computer( make sure you put phone on disk drive not charge only) and open "My computer"(shows all your drives ex. C:, D:, ect.) Right click on the drive that is your sd card and choose format. Make sure its in FAT32 and click format. You can do quick format too. Hope this helps

Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking it was a lot harder than just copying over the files.
I have S-Off and I am pretty sure it's not formatted FAT32. I just checked the properties and it just says "FAT" and if I go to format it the selection at default shows "FAT" as well. But if standard procedure is to format to FAT32 I will on my next sd card.

[Q] Bad SD card after rebooting the phone (HELP!!!!)

Hello I have a big problem hope somebody can help me.
I have a 16g micro sd card. RA Recovery 2.2,
this is what happened:
I rebooted the phone in to recovery wipe everything in order to install a new rom I had just downloaded, after I wiped I try to install from sd card and I got a message saying that the card could not be mounted.
So I plug the phone on the computer turned on the USB-MS toggle, when I click on the sd card on the computer it tells me that the card is not formatted and ask if I want to reformat the card, If I click yes it brings me to the other screen but it tells me that the card is only 30.6mb and the card is 16g? it only gives me to option in the file system FAT or exFAT.
Can somebody help I really don’t want to lose the card
ps i have windows xp and windows 7 , the phone is running miui rom
Where did you get the card?

I believe you will end up formatting SD card (FAT) but if you have anything that you want to keep you can move that to your PC. After you format card and phone recognise and accept it, you can try move your stuff from PC back to SD. Again that just my opinion and I may be wrong... Before anything, try to take card out > start phone > turn phone down > insert card again.

I believe you can do that with older windows (XP), but is it necessary to do it ? FAT was just an example what I give to you. Why don't you format your card with phone using standard system?

SD card partition

I have a silly question about partitioning my sd card.
After i back it all up and then partition it, can i put everything i backed up back on the card, and if so where do i put it at?
I have a EVO 4g if that matters with a 8 gig card.

Yes but when u transfer everything back to sd card make sure u open partition folder all select all files and then transfer cuz if u drag partition folder to sd card youll just have one folder called partition instead of all your files

CWM + My EXT SD CARD = No Fun

Well I have a new version of CWM Mod, and apparently when you format the sd-card, it no longer formats the inner sd card but your external sd card. I was really pissed as I lost all my data I had saved, but it also managed to screw up my sd card. Neither of my computers recognize my SD Card and I have no idea how I can go about restoring it. My phone can detect the sd card but it will say its corrupt randomly. So I'm guessing CWM formatted the card in a really screwed up way. Any suggestions brahs?
I'll even try to mount the sd card on CWM but it wont be able to mount it. It's a shame to waste a 32 gig sd card like this
Have you tried to format through the phone storage? Menu/settings/storage/format

How old is the SD card? This phone is know for eating up the 32 GB cards. I had one for less than 3 weeks and it did the same. I use trwp but there is a thread about cards and our misfortunes with the 32 GB.

Make sure you card is not in exfat. CWM will not read cards in exfat, I had the same problem. If it is you are going to need to format it to fat 32. Most 32gigs sd cards and higher come in exfat now. You are most likey going to have to do it on the computer also it cant be done from CWM.

Yes but my computer won't even detect the SD Card. It was fine and dandy up until yesterday when I hit format on CWM on the SD Card thinking I was formatting the internal storage (since it's labelled /sdcard) but it formatted the actual SD. Windows won't detect my Micro SD and neither will my Mac. However if I put the SD card into my phone and connect via USB, it shows up.

You pressed format /sdcard, and it formatted your extsd? That's a pretty serious bug, so thanks for the heads up. What version of CWM are you running?
Op. I did the same thing a long time ago. I have gotten into the habbit of removing the sd card when I am formatting with a custom recovery. I also back up the sd to my pc and reformat the sd when changing roms. A bit off topic but I also wipe system before flashing a new rom. So far I have avoided many of the issues mentioned day after day. Maybe I am lucky but my wierd habits have been successful so far.

5.8 something. It's weird because it allows for both internal and external SD use. When you backup the first open is to save to external then its internal. First version of CWM i've ever used with such an option.
For anyone wondering about a solution, I used an android 2.3 device which actually has a format option for the SD card and now my computers recognize it again. Life is good
