LiveView App in the Market! - XPERIA X10 Accessories

Hey guys, just checked: theres an app called "liveview application" in the market ;-)
So launch shouldnt be too far away
Sent from my 2.1 X10i using XDA App

Are you buying one? If yes could you share the points that you think matters for you to own one?
Thanks

I'm definitely considering buying one, or at least asking for it for Xmas if I don't get around to buying it. I've kind of been wanting to get a watch anyways and this brilliant little device would be a nice watch and great for seeing what messages friends are sending to me while I'm working. I'm also an accessory whore so theres that as well. Why buy a fancy watch when I can get something that connects right to my phone and does much more than tell me the time

If it isn't astronomically priced I would consider getting one. Sony made an older bluetooth watch that is still available on ebay for a fairly high amount though.
I amuse myself with the thought of kids in school being able to check their text messages / social networks from their watch. I would have.

I have one since yesterday but display wont work, battery wont load,so bad.
Send it back.

Where did you get it from?
Didn't know it was for sale already..

I am also interested. Explains, explains, the place you bought?

I heard there was a first bunch available for a short time which is already sold out.
In germany/austria, amazon releases it on november 20th for 59,97€
http://www.amazon.de/Ericsson-LiveV...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=ce-de&qid=1289038767&sr=8-1

I have bought my device here in Switzerland at Digitec but the first charge is sold out!

Can someone post the apk file here? I am not able to find it on the market!

Yes, it's difficult to get the phone to a backpack when riding the motorcycle.
Tomorrow I get my Liveview . I also think I will have problems with the battery. I will explain.

I'm actually thinking of buying this one too. regarding battery life, right now I have my x10 connected to my mbw-150 and IS800 and so far my phone lasts a day, granted I only wear them when I go out which is like 6 or 7 hours a day.

6 hours are the normal battery time for the liveview device!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

6 hours battery life is putting it a little low. Got mine since Friday 19th and have been using it since.
The battery holds for about 14 hours with on and off (regular) usage.
But as with all new devices, you'll probably drain that thing dry in about 5-6 hours, since you will be fumbling it all the time.
But as time goes and you'll use it normally, you should see a days worth of usage from the thing.
What concerns me, personally is the stability of the Software.
I don't know, how much is the apps fault (fixable), or that of the device (I've read no mention of it being update-able).
I already wrote SE for a statement on the matter.
As it is now, the device regularly quits working.
It wont go further then showing you the watch (time and date).
Nothing else.
After turning it off and on again, it automatically connects again and works though (taking about 10 seconds and two button presses).
With that behavior it's quite unreliable for notifications (it's main purpose).
I hope, SE can somehow fix that.

Got mine from ldlc.com
work nice.
But I'm a little bit disapointed with my mw600 now. I don't understand why the LiveView can display my contact name and my music title and the mw600 not ....

Dear All Thanks for the application
can anybody post the other 7 applications for live view since i dont have the android market in my x10 mini pro
apprecaite......

Can anybody please provide the updated version of liveview.apk?
Thanks, Sigi

Just ordered my Desire, what first

Hi all, I have just ordered my Desire and it gets delivered Tuesday whats the first thing I should do/install when turing my Desire on ?
Make a phone call? Send a text? Read the ****in forum?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
that depends on quite a lot of things.... what do you want to do with it?, do you want to root it? what firmware it has when you get it will determine how you do that.
put it on charge for 12 hours BEFORE even turning it on!!!!! Then the battery will be much much better, I didnt do it the first time, 1 hour with heavy use, now, with a new (official HTC Desire) battery it is 2 days, don't know if its just me, but be sure to read the forum and the leaflets you get with the phone!!

This is a tossers response and not indicative of the normal people on here.
What to do first? Well its really dependant on what you like to do. Me personally would straight away try to get it on Froyo followed by trying to get Music Junk installed and all my google account set up so that my contacts are all stored in the cloud as opposed to on the phone.
Rooting is OK but apart from backing up has few benefits tbh.
I dont know if you have used android before but there are some really crap apps out there that promise the world and deliver nothing so I suggest "obtaining" a copy first and if you like it and want to keep it then buy it. Unlike Apple the Market is fairly unregulated and there is a lot of plain lies and sometimes simply variations between the hardware which results in you not getting the software you paid for.
Doubletwist is a nice music app too that has a PC sync Client like itunes.
Short answer: ASTRO File Manager

I wouldn´t sign this... This "load it one billion hours before use" is an old myth, back from the days of NiMH. You´ve a Li-Ion battery in your phone, so it shouldn´t make any difference how long you load it the first time (by the way, the perfect point of use of a Li-Ion is between 45 - 55 %... at least in PHEV-Batteries)
I would say, the first thing to do is get to know your new super-phone

I would say it did take a good couple of days for the battery to seem to hold its full charge. I guess it just needed some time to calibrate.
First thing I'd do: go and download Dynamo Kid. I love that game so much <3

I've actually been looking for another app. I HATE the way the input thingy stays at the bottom. I used to hop up and down when typing.
Personally, first thing I'd do is just use the phone. Get used to it and you may find it does everything you need straight out the box!
If, after a week or so, you feel there are parts that can be improved then delve into the Market and/or rooting and see if this can help you. I only use about 4 apps so A2SD isn't needed and I've only rooted to remove the crap I don't want in a ROM to keep the phone as streamlined as possible

Cheers Guys some very good comments there and the odd pointless one, I have had an HTC Hero for the last year but I have been using the missis old iPhone 3G for the past couple of months, the main problem I found with the Hero was when texting (using Handcent) I kept accidently pressing the wrong letters (so annoying) is this fixed on the Desire, also when browsing the web on the hero (which I do a lot of on my phones) the pages not showing the correct size on the screen I think the iPhone was a lot better for browsing the web compared to the Hero, is this also better on the Desire ?
Is it worth upgrading the ROM on the Desire to an unofficial 2.2 version if so which is the best to upgrade to and how easy is it I had all sorts of problems trying to get Froyo on my Hero I gave up in the end and ordered the Desire I kept getting connection Error 170, couldnt backup the Hero using Ti Backup etc...

So, not to miss out on the Windows Phone 7 bashing...

I went to the AT&T store last night for two reasons: 1. To play with WP7 on a live device so I could reject it with authority; and 2. to resign myself to replacing my iPhone 3G with an iPhone 4 and a package of prayers for an unbroken back.
What I found surprised me. Now mind you, I'd played with the emulator so I knew the basics of how the OS operated, but man...in person on a real device is a whole other ballgame. I was so surprised at how fast, responsive and intuitive the device was that I began to think I might actually buy one. "But the app store sucks, I hear!" so I took a look--and discovered that all but ONE of the apps I use on my iPhone were already there (minus a couple of specific games titles like awesome solitaire, but meh, it's solitaire, who effing cares?).
So I bought the phone. Today I found via techbargains.com that AT&T is offering $75 off any smartphone, with free activation (iPhone excluded,) so I called and got them to apply that, crediting me $93. Effectively I bought a new focus for $125, which seemed pretty damn good to me.
So far, I really think the device is fantastic, and side by side with iOS...it really makes Apple's mobile OS seem rather antiquated.
So basically that's it: I've switched back to Windows Mobile, and I'm not looking back
kudos for the actually going to the store to play before making a judgment and double kudos for buying one over an iphone 4. Did you get the Focus or the Surround?
I hear that the focus is a really great phone.

Got the focus, as I wanted the larger screen. Plus, truly, I wasn't impressed with the surround's speakers enough to warrant the extra bulk . I'd read that the focus "felt cheap," but to me it seems solidly built--just not heavy. But frankly, I like that--the device is incredibly comfortable to hold and operate.
I'm sure everyone here already knew about this, but I just found out about an hour ago: Voice command. It works REALLY well. I'm a Systems Engineer by trade, and my coworkers are all geeking out at the new phone. I think it may have caused spontaneous nerdgasms in half a dozen people so far today, LOL.

Haven't had it long enough to comment intelligently on the battery life . I can tell you that with HEAVY usage today (read: 6 guys passing the thing around, loading apps, web surfing, downloading apps, trying out Xbox Live games, etc) it got down to 30% battery life as of 4:00PM; it's been off the charger since 7AM, and being played with extensively from 10AM onward. I've downloaded over 1GB worth of stuff just this afternoon.
Note, the battery life will get longer after a few charge/discharge cycles (and when its not played with as much)
I'm not sure how different the Omnia 7 is in hardware specs, but during a 'work day (8 hours)' i dropped to 3/4.
I have had it for a week, so I'm still fiddling often, but not as much.
My friend got his Omnia 7 2 days ago. yesterday he had the battery at critical over the same time period (so it does improve)

So check this out. Met with a buddy of mine for lunch, and mostly spent the hour with him playing around with my focus. He runs a small consulting firm with about 30 techs, mostly on a mix of iPhones and Blackberries. I just got a call from him:
"Hey, loved your phone today. I just got in touch with my AT&T rep, confirmed I can get the $75 off promotion. I'm moving the whole company to Windows Phone 7 effective when we take delivery of the new phones next week. Thanks for letting me get my hands on it!"
I'm shocked, but not *too* shocked. Personally I'd still wait awhile before moving over my business entirely (mostly for the first update and maybe the app store to mature a little more,) but he's a tech genius, so if it's good enough for him, I see no reason to argue

Good to hear, thanks . I'm now on the prowl for a decent class 6 32GB MicroSD for the sucker. I've never used more than 8 (even when I had a 16GB iPhone) but I think with the Xbox Live games, I'm likely going to!
Probably it is a good idea to wait a bit for WP7 certified memory cards. Microsoft says it is not all about the speed class.

This is a great thread. I agree with the original poster - the Focus is a fantastic phone. Once you start to actually use WP7, and get a feel for the UI and how it operates, it's like a whole new world, and the iOS/Android icon grid system seems archaic in comparison.
I also agree that at this early stage, I can still find a relevant app for almost everything I have previously needed on Android.
Really liking WP7 overall. I think if people give it a chance and start to use it, they will see the difference as well.
Arg, the Dell Venue Pro is becoming more tempting with each day. Damn you for this thread, my better half is going to leave me if I drop another $500 on an unnecessary toy

Where do you find that info? I have noticed that on each of the two days I've now had the phone, new apps have appeared. So far I'm only missing really two apps from iPhone: a turn by turn GPS and Wordpress. I'm sure both will be along before long

very disappointed with this device

I have been a windows phone user for the last year or so but was so tempted by the one x and android 4 that I took the plunge and got one a couple of weeks ago. The first couple if days were great but since then I have suffered random reboots, the disappearing SD memory problem, battery overheating and now the battery will only get me through a couple of hours. The phone will also sometimes decide it needs to reload the home screen and displays "loading" for a minute or two. It lags, it will not send music meta data to my cars head unit, Bluetooth audio in the car is tinny and syncing my music collection with it is a pain. I have gone back to my Titan as my daily use phone and now use the one x as a camera (which is pretty good actually). I am running stock and have uninstalled all third party apps.

If after a format (no apps installed), your still getting random reboots & only a couple of hours battery - you really need to be getting this device replaced.

Thank you noob terminator, I posted because I am so frustrated, I expected so much more from this phone, I have always been a big HTC fan and thought the one x would be a good android alternative to my titan, but the phone is not ready for market IMHO. Perhaps a few updates down the line it will be ok but for now, I just can't rely on it.

No problem my friend. The phone is ready but like every new flagship that gets released it does take a few updates to get the phone to it's true power. Same was with the S2. It needed a few good updates and a few months to properly realize its power...I think you need to return it and get a replacement
@chrisjicks
same here bro..had my phone now for a few weeks even though i am on my third replacement and could not be happier...And also glad that the development has picked up big style now..nice to see the old VR crew here from the s2 forum
I don't suppose you got a replacement One X and tried a different device?
What with all the faulty ones around that could have been the simple case with yours maybe? Because if so a working one might have provided a different perspective on the phone.
If someone is having random reboots after a format with no apps installed, its clear to me that its a faulty device, - if this isn't the case, he has an app installed that is causing it.
If I can go over a month without a single reboot (by itself) - it can't be a software bug.

Yeah, nice to see the VR team here, but sadly don't think I will be unlocking / rooting etc.
I get a 2yr warranty with my device & don't want to lose it.

I could not help myself so i went ahead and unlocked it. If anything happens then i will worry about warranty..For now everything is running smoothly. And even if you leave it stock like you have phone is more than good enough. but unlocking it and unleashing the power is a different matter. anyways nice to see you around and the s3 nothing major to want me to jump ship..Maybe the next nexus but for now i am more than happy
Dude my one x is the best no problems what's with yours

Couple of things:
If the battery lasts two hours the phone is broken, or you are doing it wrong.
Updating the phone will solve the re-loading issue mostly.

Sony Smartwatch

Well I was thinking about getting this Sony Smartwatch for use with the Galaxy Note (International version).
Any tips/suggestions to if it is good or not?
Also does the watch itself have a speaker? (either for the hour beeps or just playing music.)

depends on what you plan to do with it. the sony smartwatch MN2 isnt too bad. it has a lot of features i'd probably use. the only thing i didnt like about it is that it cant do much of anything unless it is bluetooth sync'd to a phone. heck, the clock function wont even work unless its sync'd to a phone, which seems kinda pathetic to me for a device that has 'watch' in its name. just for that reason alone, i'd probably choose a pebble or motoactv.
The watch actualy keeps time even if/after bluetooth disconnected. It just needs an initial sync to give it the right time in the first place.
Use search or look further down this exact forum to see a longer thread about this watch.

Thats good to know because its definitely not true of the LiveView and the main thing that stops me from using it on a day to day basis.
have ordered Sony SmartWatch, will get it in some days, anyone using it with note please share your experience and any tips. Also if there is any other thread with more info please provide link.

Still using?

Hey anyone still using this bad boy? My screens got some cracks. Anywhere in Australia can get it fixed? Awesome tablet.
I still have it but do not use it too often, just keeping it updated and sometimes play some retro games on it.
Still use it everyday. Bought a Brand New Google Keyboard Cover on eBay a few months ago for real cheap (like $45 lol) and now it's even better. Typing this message on it now.
Thinking of doing a factor reset and starting fresh, but not sure what that would gain me.
I just picked one up used with a keyboard so I will be using it for the foreseeable future. What's the best ROM and kernel?
Use it every day, all day. It's my main Android device. Love it and don't see anything else I'd rather have.
I use it every day. Sometimes a lot. As it ages I have become annoyed that my system decided my battery is ruined and so it throttles the SOC pretty badly below ~80% charge and replacement parts are not really available but other than that it's been pretty good to me. I went through 2 magnetic keyboards and both had terrible key repeating problems but I happened to find the folio keyboard at a thrift store and it's been solid ever since. Wish it had GPS, haptics, better touch screen, and exposed more of its hardware to the /sys folder so I could tweak more things with root but that's the ChromeOS blood showing.
Next time I'll go for max storage though. 32gig was a mistake.

Hey I have the same problem. Been using it for 2-3 years and screen cracks have appeared - don't know how actually. Not found anywhere you can find to repair, regrettably. :crying:
i used mine mostly daily for basic stuff. I have a pixel slate and honestly prefer this. I personally have out I dislike ChromeOS and prefer android. I think its way more versatile.
Use mine all the time. Almost don't use my laptop anymore. Even do word processing on it, Microsoft Word for Android, great program. Very lightweight, comfortable to put on lap, and easily transportable. Not an expert, but as far as I can tell best device that I've noticed even today. Not sure what I'll do when these get too old. Still getting updates from Google. Don't understand how this device didn't get popular. The Google colored line probably should have been in the shape of a G. Hard to tell what brand it is so losing advertising at coffee shops. Search key on keyboard not necessary. Should have been another key, like caps lock. Delete button would have been nice. Has some problems, but overall very nice device and should have been developed. No demand for it I guess for whatever reasons.
I also use mine all the time. Most of the time for basic things like Netflix, reading/annotating pdfs, reading ect. But sometimes also for multitasking, like code reviews and stuff. The best tablet I ever used!
Of course. Nearly every day.
I still use it, bought it as soon as released.

So far as I know a new battery is the only way out of this problem.* Apparently they are out there on the internet to buy. But it looks like the repair is pretty challenging to pull off without breaking the screen.
*Maybe a root solution could be cooked up but the Pixel C does not conform to most other Android systems so pre existing solutions don't often work well.
