I can't tell if my phone was getting this way before I upgraded to Fresh 3.4.0.1 or if it happened after the upgrade... but my phone is sluggish. I am running the stock kernel with no OC. Sometimes I'll check my CPU with SystemPanel and it says it's constantly around 95-100% which a reboot fixes.
Is this a problem with Fresh? I have been more than happy with Fresh 3.3.0.1. No complaints at all.
Or is this a problem with a specific app? My wife loves to play Bubble Blast on my phone, and when she does my phone gets VERY warm and drains my battery like no other.
Has anyone else had problems after Fresh 3.4.0.1?
Does anyone else play Bubble Blast and have the same problem?
Thanks.
I was running fresh 3.4 for a day or two and it seemed quicker than cm6 for me.

I've tried fresh 3.4 highly doubtful its the Rom, you can't see which process is taking up all the CPU cycles?

Yeah? Would wiping cache/data help? Or is it possible that Bubble Blast is just a rogue app using all my CPU power?

Nothing looks like it is using more CPU that is should. I'm not having the problem right now, but normally it just says CPU usage is at 90+%

About 3 times a day, my evo will start to lag horribly. I check system pannel and it says the cpu usage is 100%. Then i look at the processes and theres like 3 apps running and then the normal system processes. Anyone know why?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Which apps are running and maxing your CPU usage? All 3 or 1 of 3 could be the culprit? Apps like Watchdog can tell you what app is blowing up and you can take it from there. I've had a few get out of hand and killing once or uninstalling / reinstalling has corrected it. Clearing data / cache for the app might help. Gotta figure out which ones are maxing it first.
blah blah effin blah
Usually its my normal stuff like handcent, lookout, ane maybe music. Its like one minute its fine and the next its lagging like crazy.

try what conqu1stador said with the watchdog app and if you still cant figure it out, try a different kernel.
Yeah i got the lite version. It looks like a very very nice app. Thanks for your replys.

So it just happened again, finally. I looked at Watchdog right away to see what was causing it, and turns out it wasnt an app at all. Its "Android System". Now, to be honest, im not really sure what that means ( im guessing it means my rom or OS or something like that). Can anyone shed some light on what is happening?
If it matters im running myns 2.2 rls5, and kings #9 kernel.

I was having a similar problem, figured out it was the stock voicemail app, froze it with TB and problem went away.

More than likely you're having the dreaded wakelock issue caused by the combination of baseband 2.15.00.11.19 & PRI 1.90_003. Downgrade your PRI to 1.77_003. That should alleviate the wakelock and battery drainage. If you do not have this combination, download and install the aLogcat app. After initiating the app, look for and pay attention to anything colored in red.
Only time this happens to me is when my phone is syncing my accounts

Yes, but whenever a wakelock appears, Android system seem to always display a high percentage use.

One quick question. I just download 1.77, put it on my sd, and flash. Right? Sorry for double post.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
So every time I flash I wipe data/cache/Dalvik/Battstats. I was using CWM2 for a while and when every ROM continued to slow down and lock up I tried upgrading to CWM3, narrowing my ROM choices but not solving the problem. Whenever I flash, my phone will return to it's snappy self for a varying amount of time before crapping out again. I've tried Sense, AOSP, Evo, and Z ROMs and all behave the same for no apparent reason. What am I doing wrong? My phone used to be lightning quick, I sampled many ROMs and kernels without incident, only experimented with OC briefly, and all of a sudden it's gotten painfully slow no matter what i do. Please help me make my Incredible, "incredible" again
Is it still slow on the Stock ROM? If you haven't tried that already, I would try that. It's possible something else may be wrong with the phone if you've tried many different ROMS and all do the same thing. Do you have all the same apps installed as well, or are they different for the most part?
try fixing permissions
Try wiping your SD card and when you sign in your gmail account don't let it restore all of your apps. Setcpu is also a good investment if you have not already purchased it

Actually, on closer inspection, the permission fix only temporarily stopped the issue. I even switched to the nearly stock Nothing Special Peanut ROM and I still got a FC from Sense. Is my phone a dud?

How are you restoring apps? I would wipe everything and flash a fresh ROM. does it freeze up now? If not, my $$ is on a rogue app that doesn't like playing with your phone.

Hmm I just flashed OMFGB w/o restoring my apps. The only things I've installed are the Google Apps, Google Voice (which is my primary method of communication), XDA, and SetCPU. The fcs seem random, not tied to any particular action. They even happen when I'm not doing anything on the phone. Any ideas?
Thanks for the help everyone.

update: I think the problem stemmed from using the SetCPU widget with the refresh rate set to 5 seconds. Not sure if changing the setting makes a difference, but removing the widget from my home screen has solved all the issues insofar. We'll see if it takes this time.

setcpu is always a "use with caution" kind of app. you can get great results, but it's mostly educated trial and error with your rom/kernel combination.
I've been on aokp milestone 5.2 for a few days and I didn't know if it was related to the rom or something I did or whatever but I'll be texting or on Facebook or doin something and my phone will just go to the boot animation of the pink unicorn. And I should probably mention that the colors are out of whack for a few seconds before it goes back to normal and boots up.
Edit: Everything's still there when it boots up everything's where it should be and nothing is missing or anything it just literally reboots instantly without warning or notice.
Edit: Could it be that I'm using advanced task killer? I figured it was okay since it was on the high security level setting, just throwing that out there
Thanks for any help.

No solution to this? It's the same as when I posted this thread, 100% random as far as I can tell. I don't notice anything specific that I'm doing when the reboots happen either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got no help but I can say that this ROM ran totally smooth for me for a while and then suddenly got laggy, and apps have begun not responding regularly.

It is usually either a kernel panic or running out of RAM. You could try the V6 Supercharger for the RAM issue. As for the other I would always try odin clean stock then root and flash ROM and do not restore any data. Download and reinstall 3rd party apps fresh.

Use to happen to me also when i was on AOKP. I only noticed it when i was listening to my music tho....all my VC settings stayed the same after it booted back up so like you said it was just a random reboot. I installed V6 and that worked for the most part. The reboots did start back later on down the road tho.....

If by stock battery you mean the battery it came with then yes. I'm also running aggressive settings with v6 supercharger.
My only real concern was if it was damaging my phone in any way, or if something had already been damaged. But as I've said I really can't see anything out of whack aside from the reboots and colors. (the colors get inverted or negative or something for a few seconds on pink unicorn boot animation then goes back to normal and boots up)

This also happens to me. Same way. But usually when backing out of a text or when ending a phone call. Stock battery. V6 and no v6. Stock kernel and nyan, sammi, and shadow. What I noticed about the reboot is that it doesn't scan sd card or media.

Solution to this is to go back to a TW based rom...try sleeper or the peoples rom, joy and profit

All of a sudden I've been getting less battery life. When looking at the programs that are using the battery most, Maps has been near the top of the list. The thing is, it does this even when not using the maps app at all. I've tried force closing, but still pulls CPU and drains the battery.

I learned latitude was giving me the battery drain. Go into it and open up the settings and make sure you're opted out of the location updates and signed out. It helped a lot.
Anyone else experience this? I've been noticing that my % will drop about every minute when using the stock browser, Chrome or Firefox. The battery also gets super hot when Firefox runs. It almost seems like both cores are online when they don't need to be.
Is there a way to get better cpu utilization and battery life while using a browser?
Edit: I've noticed this drain on stock (rooted) and FreeGS3
