So, I've been using CleanGB 1.1.2 for a few weeks, and I tried flashing a cm7 rom. Didn't like how much issues I was having, so I restored my old CleanGB rom. Ever since, my battery life is pathetic. I have an extended battery, usually charge it from 40% to 100% while I sleep. Now, its always charging because it dies so fast.
Take a look at the links, anyone have any answers? Thank you!

Try wiping battery stats....
If you don't know how the process works you can look at Qbking77's video on it- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbYVv4nCveM
Percentages don't tell us anything. What is your display on time? What is listed in running services? How much deep sleep is your phone getting? These are all that matter, not the battery screenies.
If you have 30 minutes screen on time with high intensity and are syncing something in a poor signal area that percentage is typical. If your phone is just sitting there and it drops that much an hour later then there is an errant app not closing.
Wiping battery stats does nothing... id recommend follow kenny's advice here, we can't really help you if you don't help us help you =].

How can I prevent apps from opening in the background? Like, games for some reason are in my backgrounded apps. I never opened that game, so why is it starting?
Any advice on making sure these apps don't start unless I make it start myself?

Hmm you might have a bad phone or there's something wrong. Id try going back to stock. Then re root and try a solid ROM. Like kennys's people rom or something else... see if that helps at all...

Problem is clear, all stats are fine except android system and display,no way is display that low it should be at least 60% the higher the better as it uses the most battery out of the lost batt, android system is way to high and I don't think there is a way to check what exactly it is, I would say flash a new rom.I had abnormally high cell standby and the other cell think I forgot the name haha, flashed a new rom (reaper 2.2.2) and I've had normal stats with display using the most. Get cpuspy battery monitor widget and spareparts and analyse your batt

They preload part of their code so that they open quicker when you want them. You can either use Autostarts to stop them or get paid version of Titanium Backup and freeze them until you want to use them or uninstall them.

That is just a misreport. It groups everything the phone does (basically being on except deep sleep) into Android System. The important stat is Display time.

Is anyone else having terrible battery life with ICS? I'm using Calkulin's ROM with FD26, and my phone is already at 50% after 5 hours of being on. No phone calls, screen was barely on, and no browsing. It would usually be at 85-90% on the UnNamed gingerbread ROM. The battery stats say android OS is using the majority of it, and it's making the phone hot as well. Anyone else have this issue? Is it time to go back to gingerbread?
I am havig the exact same issue, fast drain and Android OS being at the top of the list. I haven't got a reply as of yet in other posts so IDK....
If your phone is getting hot then there's probably an app eating up cpu cycles and keeping the phone from deep sleep.
Use an app like system panel to see what app is misbehaving.
Try a few things.. I fell aslee with..umm... A.very family friendly website on and it stayed on all night. I ended up gaining battery somehow... Not really gaining but it was around 45 when i slept. But my settings are so tweaked...

If you are using Calk's FD26, then it's trying to use 'conservative' cpu governor but it's not supported on Stock ICS. Backup his CPU tweak init.d script and try modified version in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625299
Hopefully, I expect coming FE07 has more CPU governors that will give us more power saving options.

I don't do anything special really. If you are starting from a stock ROM, delete Sprint bloat (I do keep Sprint TV and VVM) and delete Social Hub and the 4 apks tied to it. Replace those with inverted Facebook and Twitter if you use them. Actually use as many inverted apps as possible. Turn off auto brightness and control it by swiping across status bar. The more time on wifi the better obviously. Kobridge and I have discovered that leaving wifi on even when not connected actually helps. Ummm....not many widgets helps. I always have a minimal homescreen. Also dark wallpapers with only a little color is good too. Black ones are best. That's a good start. Let me think if I do anything else but for the most part that's all I do. Watch out for rogue apps running in the background. Oh yeah...delete Maps and only install when you need it. One app running in the background can ruin your whole setup. Monitor that with Better Battery Stats

I've had this phone for 3 weeks now from a vibrant, and so far the battery hasn't balanced itself out. I get maybe a full days use out of it. From what I've read that's pretty good for this phone, but I'd like to be able to get consistent use.
I got a little more curious and decided to install cpu spy and discovered the phone isn't deep sleeping. So my question is, is there an app I should look out for that could possibly be running in the background? I've un installed all bloat that came with the phone, turned off sync, etc.
Any ideas? Or any roms that are touchwiz based that are battery friendly?

You're still on stock, right?
Heck your running processes to see if anything is running that shouldn't be. Also, there is an app called Watchdog (not the data meter) that can be setup to alert you when an all is using more processes than it should be using.

Yeah fully stock before the ota that was sent out.
I have the same apps I had on my vibrant with an extra game or two.
Mainly gapps, dead trigger, light flow, roku, Nike Running, etc.
I read somewhere that light flow was causing issues when the phone was first released, but so far I haven't seen major drain from that app alone. I turned off accessibility in the respect to light flow just to see if maybe that was the issue a d nothing.
Currently it sits right at 384mz. No idea why.

I forgot about that app. Just installed, I'll try this out and see what I can find.
This app should help you determine what exactly is keeping your device awake and preventing deep sleep.
Not sure what it is as this so the first day I have had this issue but it appears my phone has not gone into deep sleep at all today either. Weird.

Hm, just checked my phone, was interested that maybe the app wasn't reading it correctly.
I remember in the Vibrant, some kernels didn't allow apps to read the correct Deep Sleep stats.
Mine is working fine, 84% on deep sleep.

JB has been known to use more battery than ICS(At least with the port releases) I've seen upwards of 65%
If you're rooted use betterbatterystats and see exactly what is draining it. A known source of major drain (for me 10% an hour) was an unknown service in /system/bin called gsiff_daemon. It has something to do with gps, but that's besides the point. On every rom I flash, I go in and rename it to gsiff_daemon.bak this will make it so it won't run. I have done this the entire time I've had a gs3 and never once have run into an issue from disabling this service, but I have saved my battery by doing it

Android system uses more battery than anything else. The core background processes running there must be incredibly draining.

Maybe try to reduce the Animated Scale setting under Settings - Developer Options from 1x to 0.5x or below? Toggle GPU rendering setting in there as well.
I also agree that a lot is dependent on your launcher. Nova is good to compare too *only* if you optimize it's settings to set all to "Faster than light"

I'm on the newest version of CleanRom. I much prefer it to stock. There are a lot of features I can't live without. Still, the price you pay is with scrolling. It's jerky compared to stock, especially when you are slow scrolling. Fast scrolling is not an issue.
Yeah, I don't know what you talking about. I'm running Jedi X6.1.2 and I don't feel a performance difference, but I do have a lot of nice goodies stock doesn't have.
OP should make a video to show people his problem
I experience none of that with jedi or cleanrom

I know what he means. I also started a thread about jerky scrolling. Some people seem to have decent eyes they just dont realize or never seen a fluid scrolling capable samsung rom. My stock browser is buttery smooth even with heavy picture loaded wep pages. However tapatalk and facebook and some apps are super jerky. Even setting menu of phone is very jerky. Unbelievable. They are jerky when u scroll only with medium speed. If you scroll very slow or very fast its smooth.
This is very annoying for me. So I flashed every available rom and kernel and tried every rom/kernel combo. I think I found the solution.
Seems like The problem is caused by cpu governer + rom type. So I tried some stock roms that are very smooth and that are jerky.
I got the best scrolling with note2core kernel and ONLY IF you select iNTERACTIVE governer. Perseus and other kernels only have pegasusq governer. Once I made it interactive they all became super smooth.
If you are running perseus kernel or such u can also test this by selecting "performance" governer. It basically keeps your cpu in highest level. And your scrolling becomes buttery smooth.
It has something to do with cpu levels I guess. With pegasusq there is not much load to trigger higher cpu levels so it uses low levels.
I suggest you to try note2core with interactive governer.

Most likely they will ask you to show them the problem, tell them you have a friend with the note 2 and you dont see any of this on his phone and think that it must be a bad unit. they should just replace it if its within the alotted time. just keep complaining you didnt pay that much money for a device to be as laggy as a last years gen phone and so on blah blah blah.....they should give you a new one.
