please be patient with me .... new android user :D - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

i used to change wm roms from 6 to 6.1 to 6.5 different roms
now i want to use android froyo
plz read what i understand from the sticked threads
1- download kernel for my device and edit "nbh"... ok
2- install on my device using the nbh on the memory card or ruu_custom.exe
3- install the android version i prefere !!
i can't under stand when the android version i will install use kernel like 2.6.25
and i installed the kernel 2.6.32
so there will be problem ???
or its not wrong to use 32 kernel while the android version like Clemsyn froyo used 25 kernel ????
and sure my device is both "sim / hard spl " unlocked

Yes you can use the newer kernel with older builds.

ROMs are, what you can consider to be, customized versions of what's already installed on your phone. Some ROM makers (chefs) create ROMs that increase performance, change design, include a set of apps or remove pre-installed apps.
SamSet's ROM does most of that. SamSet1.9f is the latest version of the ROM, but SamSetKernal_v2.5_PDA is the kernal to install onto the phone AFTER applying his ROM in order to use his custom lagfix.
If you've read his thread, it'll require you to flash one of the newer firmwares before applying the ROM to the phone.

oh..thank you for answering...
so i need to flash a new firmware? what is the firmware?
now i am using JH1 ROM..i think it is the hong kong official rom...
so should i first flash this rom again and the apply the samset rom
final flash the kernal?
also i want to know the a2sd lagfix is data2sd?
if i prefer using data2nand so i shoud just ignore this but flash samset only?
Just go ahead to install samset you will no regret, smoother screen response, better gps locking, nice theme icons etc
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
so is it necessary for me to do data2nand etc after flashed the samset rom?
I also want to give SamSet 1.9f a try, but for me it seemed that A2SD FIXLAG (Data2SD) is included in SamSet 1.9.
Is it possible to install SamSet and don't use A2SD FIXLAG, but One Click Lag Fix 2.0 instead?
Yes it is enable only if you flash the kernel after.
So just don't flash kernel and use the fix you want (or no fix)
Dude, can't you juste read the Samset thread? All of your questions are answered in the first post...

Agreed but anyway all you need is the JM5 FW, so go to the official FAQ (it's stickied) read it and download the JM5 FW from there, and everything else is explained int he FAQ. The original SamSet ROM does NOT contain the A2SD Lagfix, if you want that you need to flash the Kernel AFTERWARDS but you also need to partition your SD according to what the requirements are.
All SamSet is, is a custom themed ROM, zipaligned+de-odexed = faster, reliable, more eye candy.

[Q] Various questions about ROMs and app's on SD

Hi everyone !
First of all I want to make all my apologies if my english is too bad..
So I followed with a great attention some threads about CyanogenMod and I was very sad each time it failed.. My galaxy Y is my second Android phone (but in reality it's the first because my beTouch e110 was ... "bad" ) so I have some questions about the ROM :
1) What is the real goal of a ROM ? Providing new themes and cool fonts ? Does it improves performance or does it comes with new fonctionnalities ?
2) I tried some ROM like Hybrid, Sense Aurora.. But after installing them on my phone, the french language (yes, I am ) wasn't available. Should I change CSC after installing a new ROM ?
3) After the disapointment of no french language, I flashed my phone with Odin with a stock ROM. Is the XEF CSC a good choice for me ?
4) Now a question a bit more technical (I study in computer sciences ).. Why a ROM like CyanogenMod need a custom Kernel ?
5) And I want to know how to really move app to my SD card, because it says they are in, but after multiple installation of ROM and the flash I lost some app.. ?
Up for question 4. Devs mention the need for custom kernels in order for cyanogenmod to work on our units but all of them never mentioned why. Enlighten us even if it is a technical matter. I have a fair linux background and have patched and compiled kernels in the past. What kernel configuration or module does cyanogemod require anyway?
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
cyanogenmod uses 'criminal' kernel (as far as i know) ..
......to run it cant run on stock kernel.....
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
Yes, but do you know what are the specifications of this kernel ?
[Nobody to answer to my other questions ]
Up ! Nobody can answer ?

Problem with new karnel of cm7

Hi all.
I have a question regarding the latest version of CM7.
Now, the latest version is karnel swap on. Unfortunately, this has only three karnel Governor of OC. I know it is karnel tweaked, but if it will install a swap is not visible. How to deal with this problem and why the latest version does not have more managers OC?
Mostly, eoghan will be releasing a kernel for the new build with more governors.
The kernel itself won't install a swap though it supports swap partitions so if you have one formatted as such, then I suppose it would use it.

You can install both these ROMs in your device. See the Instructions here.

Dualboot IS possible with CM9, in fact it works as a charm..
It doesn't work with CM10 (JB).
PS: Quarx never made a thread about CM9 so he never said anything like that.

[Support] [FAQ] [BL7] working GB-based ROMs for green lens defys

Hi @ all.
I want to start a support thread for all those unlucky ones who flashed a BL7-sbf on their green-lensed defy.
NOT the Defy+ or red lens, because the green one is the one for real trouble.
I am aware that you can always install a CM10 by quarx, but I wanted to have a more smooth and stable solution.
You should verify, that you are on a BL7. If you don't know what that means, you should not be here, Do not use these rooting instruction unless you know, you are on BL7. If you're questionning here, what are advantages, or disadvantages, or how you can find out what BL you have, please leave NOW.
This thread is for those who know what's cookin'.
I cannot stress this enough - be sure. search the forums. Don't flood this with useless questions.
I'll try to keep the first posts updated regularly, so that there should be no reason to read the whole thread everytime.
Now let's get started:
1. As far as I know, Froyo is no longer an option.
So, your options start with GB ROMs plus the camera fix. Please comment if they work and how.
I am sure somebody already built such roms.
2. You can also use a 2ndboot-based CM7 build like ms2ginger.
I don't know how many of those exist.
3. What I need you for:
Please add your own rom, when you know it's working on BL7.
Please add the rom you're using, when you're on BL7 with working SOC cam.
Questions:
It would be really helpful to know if ANY GB ROM will work with the camera fix.
It would also be helpful to know, if we should use custom MB525 or MB526 builds as base rom.
Working Roms:
1. MS2Ginger
2. tbc.
3. tbc.
First try (all flashed via custom recovery):
1. I managed to get a working CM 7.2, from early may 2013 with GB Kernel. (cm72-20120506-NIGHTLY-Defy+.zip)
2. Rooted via Defy+ BL7 method (sig)
3. Sndinit 2.3 (you should use 2.0, because some said they had problems with the 2.3 version) i am writing this a week later, so I hope this is correct
5. camera did NOT work
What I did NOT get to work (yet):
1. update-CyanMobile-eXperience-Defy-20130502-Release.zip
2. WajkIUI_multilang_3.1.27.zip
3.
Unfortunately "not working" means usually no more bootups, no way to get into custom recovery for restoring or reflashing, so you'll have to start all over again:
1. Flash first sbf (sig)
2. Flash second sbf for root (sig)
3. Install SndInit 2.0
4. boot into recovery
5. flash your new flavour
...tbc
for supporters
If someone managed to get a custom ROM to work, please provide following informations:
Build# of the "wrong" sbf
sbf's used for root (there are already 2 known combinations, CN & CEE)
used SndInit (should be greater than 2.0 i guess)
full flash instructions
which recovery used for wiping
which one for flashing
how many reboots
approx. duration of the process
ROM Version and build
Information about 2nd boot or 2nd init and when to set it
Does the camera work?
Please, ONLY BL7 stucking ROMs, this is a special thread for special cases.

Thanks, but this thread is GB-based ROM's only.
I wanted to have a snappier / more responsive / smooth ROM instead of feature-rich slow/laggy ones. - See OP.
To clarify: 2.3.x-based ROM's only.
Thanks anyway.

Confirmed working. :good:
Well, sorry for huuge delays, but I am now on MoKee 34.1 because Rom lags or responsiveness is no longer an issue on Android 4.3
(OK, i missed some features as well)
I might remove the restriction of GB based Roms, but basically every 2nd Boot Rom works so i might collect only Rom trees, no single versions. Any opinions on this?
Sent from my MB526 using xda app-developers app
I have BL7 and i have blocked for few days in rom 2.3.6 4.5.1-134_DFP-231.
Then i have rooted it by install fixed sbf, and found a good sbf MistyOS-BL7-4.1.2.sbf (if any one want it i will upload it)
this fixed sbf install CM10.1 and u can make it a start point to install CM10.2 and CM11
Now i have CM10.2 work fine, just battery charger only with computer
