Are the videos youtube videos or just embedded flash videos?
The plug-in is only for youtube videos, flash comes in a later update

i know exactly how you felt, my contract ran out 6 weeks before wp7 got released so on the day it came out i just had to get one, I got my Omnia 7 from Orange But apparently there was some sort of shortage or something and so i drove to london to get mine cos i knew they were in stock there!

The actual app works so when I launch it takes you to the mobile youtube site and I can watch the videos but my issue is if I go to a website which has a embedded youtube video I should be able to click it and it should open the video this doesn't happen? am I doing something wrong? Because it's not functioning like the way pocketnow.com are describing it in their video of the youtube plugin?

hehe I didnt think I was alone!
Is it the mutz nutz then?
Dagnammit I am in a pickle now!!!! What to do
Monthly data limits are still a bit piddly these days considering how data centric devices are
I have the same issue with the HD7.
If I go to the YouTube mobile site, i can play the video but if I try to play the SAME video from YouTube.com it will not play nor will links from Facebook or the pocket now article!!!
This appears to have now been fixed by YouTube as the are now automatically redirecting the links to the mobile site.
I have the same problem on my lg optimus 7. I installed the plugin but no links on the exploer page or facebook what to do?
Same problem
Hey Guys
I have the same problem on my Samsung focus....

If you want to get Omnia 7 on t-mobile,
The 30quid *18-month contract (with 55 cashback - 25 from the site, 30 from topcashback) on buymobilephones .net seems a good dealto me!
comes with 600 mins, 500 txts and 1GB internet!
Same problem with my Omnia 7 I'm not reditect to the youtube player using IE to see a page which has an embedded you tube video. Any help? theres no too much things to configurate so I don't know how we can fix the problem.
The same here. Plugin just plays fine from m.youtube
But on websites with YouTube videos nothing happens. Blank space.
I suggest to all of us to expose the problem also here , in Microsoft Answers social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsphone7/threads/ This is not only happens in few devices there are HD7, Focus, Optimus 7 and Omnia 7 with this issue.
It's a region bug another WP7 user discovered that if he changes the system language from english (canada) to english (United States) the Youtube plugin works properly. I have an unlocked Omnia 7 in Spain and for me works english (United Kindom).
Indeed does not work. Im dutch but have my omia7 on italian since it lacks dutch support. Embedded youtube does stay blank and does not work. Ill switch to usa to see if it works. Is it language or region related?
Think I got a hint from this post

My browser was set up to view websites as a desktop browser. When it was changed to view a mobile browser the links on web pages started playing from m.youtube.com as they should.
Thanks

superb alternet of skyfire,
for me skyfire was slow in comparison of mach 5 it use to take lots of time to start up and sometime it use to just not authorise to login
and in this mach 5 we can watch videos in full screen when videos are detected it plays it in full screen.
have a look guys
http://www.wmexperts.com/netacceler-...native-skyfire
Corrected link: http://www.wmexperts.com/netacceler-mach5-browser-decent-alternative-skyfire
It does look good, but I don't like that it's just a demo and they will charge (or plan to charge) for it when the demo expires
thanks for correcting link.
it seems they are charging for fuller version but believe man the lagging problem of skyfire and all those slow interval in pages when u zoom in and out. really i found not usefull at all when i used skyfire except self console of watch every type of videos.
but i have used it and will be using till june ofcourse coz its free and ya believe me its better interms of:
tab pages
smooth scroll
fast
doesnot take that long to open pages
it identifies video and enables us to zoom in
landscape view manually thats what i think is much more better den using skyfire and one additional rotation program.
i would appreciate opera browser with all those functions if its what i am understanding from forum about opera 9.7 but i am not sure..
any way
my opinion

I have been using their trial version for more than 3 months, it seems there is no expire date.
the new version is really fast, but still not fully support Java and active X as they claim in their offical site.
i guess trial version will end by next month according to there website
I registered on their website and they only have the QVGA and VGA cabs. Anyone have the WVGA version?

Hello guys , do you know if exists a cab or a patch created for download Youtube videos on WM 6.5 ?????
Thanks
Closest thing to a youtube downloader is youtubeplay, as far as I know. It's a separate program that can play or download youtube videos. The only drawback is it only works with the lowest quality videos.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2660344&postcount=1
This program is OLD and isn't useful with WM 6.5 . I would like to see a cab that add to original youtube player a tab for download videos ...like the Palm Pre or iPhone "jailbreaked" ...
Developers , GET UP !!!!!

um....really? Sure you don't want to rephrase that request a little? Unlike the devs on your planet, ours don't just sit around waiting to be ordered into action by an anonymous party with an immdiate "need"
"...Does anybody know of anyone working on this type of thing now, or anybody who might be interested in giving it a shot? I'd be happy to provide input and feedback to anybody that is, or would. Thanks in advance!"
-there, I fixed that for you

i like your response, but unfortunately he's right. i just tried it with no luck.
Will post feedback as I play with the handset. Wasnt expecting it quite so early....
Congrats leoni, I would love if you could say about:
- The responsiveness of the screen
- How easy to type using its virtual keyboard (and compare to the iPhone if you have used before)
- And the biggest question, is the voice-to-text included in the virtual keyboard? Probably you may test it on several differents input type. Or it might need to be installed from the HTC apps/widget list?
Thanks!
I still own an iPhone, owned an iPhone 3g, currently (or until today) running a HD2 so I've got a good idea of what I like and dislike about each ;-)
Will update shortly
I've got mine too, just waiting for first charge to hurry the hell up. lol
Does it do video recording? Can't seem to find that in the specs...
[DELETED] I got it wrong
Can you confirm this problem?

Got up early so as not to see the dreada drop-card, not here yet, living in the sticks though! I'm gonna be so depressed if it doesn't come
mine is here!!! just unboxing now!
Just called T-Mobile (150, then option 5, then option 4) and they confirmed mine will be delivered ... ... ... wait for it ... ... Monday ... It's going to be a loooong weekend :-(

It is 4gb and pre-inserted. Phone is physically unbranded but has T-Mobile splash screen. Browser defaults to T Mobile Favourites page but is otherwise untouched. Software is pretty much generic.
PHONE IS SIM LOCKED. O2 card tested.
No Google Services setup is required upon first boot; straight to homepage.

Interesting that T-Mobile should call it the Bravo...
First impression of keyboard.....
I'm in love.
Goodbye HD2.
No sign of t2s though...will scrutinize now.....

Nice .. i see that the device is the "Brownish" colour after all
if you could verify wither there is a speech-to-text feature or not, .. you have to change the keyboard to Android keyboard though (if it exists). because the HTC keyboard does not have it by default ..
The Android keyboard is either removed or hidden as the Windows one is on the HD2. Turning off Sense UI doesn't seem possible by clearing data and defaults through the applications menu....Sense just restarts automatically.
I'm pretty sure there is no Speech to Text. I've searched hard to no avail, plus when I installed SMS Popup and pressed the S2T button it said it was not available for this device.

ohh bummer, .. its ok though there is an app for that
thanx for the updates mate, ... keep us posted about your experience with the great Desire .... any glitches/bugs/lag-ness (hopefully not)
EDIT: and also the battery life!
Mine arrived half hr ago, it's on charge and I'm trying it out.
First impression what a dissappointment....only kidding!
It's faster then HD 2, Iphone 3GS and hero had them all and got rid of them all. Very bright and responsive, very fast keyboard definetly the best thus far. that's it for timebeing.
impressed thus far.
In settings there is an option for text to speech you have install voice data which takes you to marketplace.
Hope someone can help.......ideally someone from the UK.
I'm out of contract and can't make my mind up between sticking with Winmo and getting a HTC HD2 or getting the Desire..
I've got a hero with work which is good but the beebplayer app does'nt work very well at all and I can't use TVCatchup.com through the browser either.
Can somebody tell me if the beebplayer app is any better on the desire, or if they can access the main iplayer site from the browser (or TVcatchup.com-free register)
I can't really live without these two at the moment, so any answers would help my decision
Tried beebplayer this morning and it worked fine, mind you it always worked ok on my G1, so your problems may have been reception related.
Beebplayer works for me. Its not brilliant (must be using the low res version of the video that BBC makes available for some devices). And not eery video works. Again, a BBC issue. This is similar to when I use the iplayer downloader tool available elsewhere on the internet.
The iplyaer website doesn't currently play video, it says this Flash content is not playable or similar. Aparently when Adobe release flash 10.1 all will be ok.
thanks for the quick answers guys.. it's not a reception issue, i've tried the beebplayer on my hero through wifi and it's not good.
Think it's going to be the same for the TVcatchup site until flash 10.1 comes out
tvcatchup forums says they are working on a Andriod App, but no release timescales given. Until then they wont allow any 3rd Party apps to connect to there Streams.
TVcatchup.com doesn't work right now, it should do when flash 10.1 is released though.

edit: Nvm it's working now
Thanks. I decompiled them to look if there was some driver access we had not known before on Samsungs. But unfortunately there isn't. The interfaces in the Diagnosis app are the most advanced implementation we know now so far.
I haven't tried to install the apps. Are they any good?
This looks like most of these apps are form t-mobile and some samsung ones.
The t-mobile apps suck though Only the navigation app is good but you can only use it with a t-mobile sim inside...

I did crack the navigation app sometime, but it's only good for Germany, Austria and either the Czech Republic or Switzerland (I can't remember which) iirc.

Yeah, I read the post and wanted to put it on my phone as I need the maps for germany but decided to wait for the 1st update from ms. Since they said that they patched the hole for the jailbreak.
O2 germany will release a nav app from telmap sometime in the coming weeks I hope but I read that it will require data connection...
