[Q] Is there a list of available miui - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been looking all over for Koush V2 kernel. I was told that this particular kernel will improve battery like on the MIUI rom. Does someone have a link to the zip or is there another kernel that is recommended over the koush version 2?

Koush Test 2
King's CFS #1 and BFS #1
Ziggy's Kernel (lots of people have trouble with this one)
These are the most popular choices for MIUI. There are others out there, I'm sure.

I'm guessing ziggys kernel isn't working for MIUI because it isn't designed for AOSP ROMs. Ziggy said that himself if the 14 page thread I just read.
I've been using test2 on CM6 nightlies for a while now with decent results. Just installed KKs latest kernel so we'll see how that works.

I haven't used Ziggy's kernel but somebody in the MIUI thread said they had it working.
I've also used Koush's test2 on both CM and MIUI and I like it. I just switched to King's CFS #1 and I like it a lot so far. I keep it at 998 because I was getting reboots when overcclocked.

I have no idea what I did differently from others (almost everybody else has had issues) but I do have the 1026 revision of ziggy's aosp incredible kernel working perfectly. It's very fast and good on battery life too. I installed kernels before ziggy's and would do a dalvik wipe each time.

I just researched into it a bit more and realized I was way off. Apparently he does have a AOSP kernel. Sorry Hrmm... Khanam did you try his 127? It was updated a few days ago.

127 is the number of times its been downloaded - it is actually called the 1026 aosp kernel. That is the one I used. I did have problems with the 1023 one on another AOSP Rom though...

If I flash one of his kernels, do I need to wipe/reformat my SD card? I'm running MIUI, so I'm curious what I need to do and if there's any special instructions to follow. Currently, I'm running Tiamat's 2.1.5.

Can if you want, but if all you're going to do is set a screen off profile there's no need. His kernels are amazing for overclocking though.

Not only are they awesome for OCing but running a mild OC (1 notch above standard), with the min set to 128 I'm getting better battery life then the ever popular Lou's #8. YMMV
I'll try out the new ones here soon, I"m running the one form 1/22 I think.
Ziggys kernels never worked well on my DINC, but these latest ones are SWEET. Noticeably snappier than Lous #8.

[Q] Best Kernel for EVO running CM7

I flashed CM 7 a while back and love it, but as always I feel as though I'm not getting the best battery life. With moderate use I'm lucky not to have to plug it in halfway through the day.
Any good kernel recommendations for good battery life? I'm testing SavagedZen's kernel and using it's governor currently. I find it to have excellent life while the phones asleep, but it's a battery hog when I'm using the phone.
GoDm0dE has done wonders for my battery life! Your mileage may vary as all EVO's seem to be slightly different.
Im having a great exp with SZ 2.1.0. Try using the BFS version of the latest savagezen; As to me it seems the savagezen governor works best with their rom versus cm7(if that's what ur using). I personally run conservative or ondemand with a max of 1113 and 245 min. You could also try the new toast godmode kernel! Here's some general info I think you might find helpful.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894880
I've tried a million different kernals and personally I think CM7 just still has some battery issues to work out.
What has become a frustration of mine is that I continually get different results with the same items. In other words. Some days I'll be using the same kernal and ROM release and even the same programs and my battery will disolve right before my eyes while sudden then I'll get great battery life for a day or two.
Personaly I think it has something to do with 3g and wifi issues, because I seem to have random issues with those as well . . . but I don't know enough about all this to back that up with anything more than anecdotal observation.
CM7 + Timat Kernel = EPIC WIN.
If you flash, only use version 3.3.7 or 3.3.8 as 4.0.0 is breaking some cameras.
Toastcfh's GoDm0dE Kernel gets my vote, and that's coming from Tiamat 3.3.8 with the -100mv script from Viperboy. The Godmode kernel is by FAR much smoother and has gotten me better battery life. Toastcfh works on Cyanogenmod so you know it'll run well with CM7

Not sure if this helps anyone, but running godmode at 245/1113 vs tiamat at 245/1267, performance governor on both, I benchmark much better on godmode. I know there's a lot more to consider than that but with a lower clock it surprised me how well godmode did. IIRC I got 1333 on quadrant.
Can anyone point me in the direction where I can find the original CM7 kernel to have on hand to switch back to should I so desire? To sum it up...
What I have:
Tiamat, Savage, godmode, and every other custom kernel...but CM
What I am seeking:
CM kernel in flashable form, and if kernel manager is the magical answer, can someone PM me and you can email it to me since the manager fails to work for me?

Might have to try this..
Already downloaded, will flash it tonight when I update my nightly build.
Flashed it. Seems quite stable. Noticed its not as overclocked as most and the smartass governor changes clock speed in smaller increments. I guess that is to conserve battery life.

Battery life on this kernel is definitely improved over faux's kernel and the insanity v2 kernel... a little less smooth than insanity v2, but my battery isn't threatening to overheat, so we're good!

Installed this with faux123 ASOP ROM then took a 4 hour trip to LA. Battery life and everything looked good but as soon as I started taking pictures the phone would start to lock up. Even got a error message saying could not connect to camera at one point. Flashed back to faux123 kernel and everything is working fine again. When I have more time I will try this again and get some logs for the dev.
Kernel's working great for me. Thanks for this.
I was using the 1.02 version and everything was quite fine, good battery life and excellent performance. The 1.03 version somehow tanked my battery life (even with the overclock completely removed) and caused a bit of instability with moderate OC, so I went to 1GHz clocks.
Really though the battery drain was concerning... I was losing 1% every five or so minutes while the phone was sleeping.

UPDATE:
I spoke too soon, my battery has been draining like crazy on 1.0.3 on this rom, I just want back to 1.0.2 and it seems to be doing better.
The only time I've seen issues with quick battery drain is with FB or Twitter, but that isn't a kernels issues its the apps themselves using data.
Update:Worked fine no FC's,seemed a little bit laggy tho. Don't think its a kernel issue so much as a compatibility issue with Liquid Metal.

kernel

http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gtg031s...2011-10-18.zip This is a link for a kernel I found posted in the JDkernel thread on rootzwiki. It is an AOSP kernel that is supposed to be a merger of JDkernel and Tiamat. The couple of people that had flashed it said they liked it and it was fast. This is the link to the tread the kernel was posted in, http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?3091-KERNEL-jdkernel-Vivow-Nightlies-(FOR-AOSP-ROMS-ONLY) This kernel is talked about on the the last couple of pages.
I flashed it & it seems stable.

Yeah it's a great kernel, been running it on my dinc2 for a while now, I'm using the 9.19 beta release.
We are talking about a different kernal.
The kernel dev has just started a thread for this kernel on rootzwiki
http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?9002-KERNEL-aeroevan-vivow-kernels-(for-AOSP)
I just created an account here, and apparently I can't create a thread in the development forum yet
But basically it's a merge between tiamat and jdkernel, with voltages and call volume from tiamat and lots of backports from jdkernel (let me know if jdkernel voltages or volume is better, I haven't really used either extensively since I've only had a dinc2 for like 5 days).
The current v0.3 is here: *** but hopefully I will find a real place to host.
* well crap, apparently I can't even post a link to my kernel, but it's on the rootzwiki site...
Volume is better on Tiamat. Voltages on JDkernel and Tiamat both work for me, but I only overclock to 1.2. If you read the forums you will see that some people have problems with Tiamat voltages though(phone freezes).

Yeah, I've had to pull the battery after overclocking so I might go with the voltage table from jdkernel for the next release.

Jd's have been really good on the voltqages for me. I usually bump it +25 when I go crazy on the overclocking. But at 1.2ghz, which I normall set as my max, the stock JD voltages is fine.

XDA: What are you using?

What Rom and Kernel is everyone using?
Curious as to know exactly what people on XDA are running on their OG EVO 4G.
I've found Decks 2.3.7 GB is the best GB Rom IMO but it is getting old, as in age.
*Best GB?+Kernel?
*Best ICS?+Kernel?
*Best Sense?+Kernel?
I would personally rather run ICS but I am so anal about my phone that the screen flicker when turning the screen off really aggravates me.
Just trying to get a feel which Rom is the "best" for you & why that is?
Thanks!

Nope. this is a solid daily driver. Only the FFC and 4G are inop. barcodescanner doesn't work for some reason and no HWA yet, but still smooth and fast as hell.
I have a guide for it. Click the Evo guide in my signature and at the end of the Original Post is a link to ICS MIUI Setup.
