alright so i was trying to install ruby and my SD card said it was full so int he porcess or trying to format my SD card i think i formatted my phones storage instead. so not knowing i went and tried to install the ruby rom like normal realizing that it would never boot so after trying to format all the partions of the phone through clockwork and still nothing worked.
so i went and decided i was gonna try and just downgrade or unroot so i ran this
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dro...wngrading.html
and placed the pb311img on the SD card and excuted it and it disabled the clockwork and all that but not it just keep hanging up in the screen that you get when you hold vol down and power and it wont do anything when i try and reboot it it just keep going back to this screen..need help ASAP as this is my only phone and i dont wanna get a refurb
The link you posted isn't working, but I am hoping it is a link to the PB31IMG.zip for downgrading the incredible and not the droid. I actually had an issue with this downgrade once, and if I am reading your post correctly you're saying that after flashing the downgrade zip it reboots you straight into the hboot where you select recovery/fastboot/clear storage etc. This happened to me as well, I went to recovery, where you have to hold Vol Up + Power to bring up the menu, where I did a factory reset. Then I rebooted back into hboot again, flashed the PB again and it rebooted fine.

I followed the instructions for installing a custom ROM and used DamageControlv3.1, and everything seemed to go fine, but now whenever i try to reboot my device it flashed the
HTC Evo 4G screen over and over and I can't enter the recovery mode or anything again. Is there anything I can do?
Have you tried pulling the battery out for like 20 seconds? Try that to see if it boots up that way.
If not, get a memory card reader, plug your microsd card in it, place the pc36img.zip file on there from your computer, remove the custom rom, put your sd card back on your phone and load'r up.

Do you have NAND unlocked? If not that is your problem. If you go to the post for that ROM and search you will find it. I had the same problem. I got to excited to get that ROM going and didn't finish the root process
What Dave said should get you back up so you can finish the root. Sorry I missed that part

i had the same problem when i forgot to wipe data.. just remove the battery and put it back in then reboot in recovery mode (vol dwn + power button) then wipe data..
thanks, did what you said and got it to work. I was about to freak out, yeah I did jump the gun a little bit and did not finish reading the guide.
You guys are lifesavers
ok so i flashed DeFrost 6.0k and basically i have no power to my desire what so ever, ive tried everything u can imagine a noob would do and it still dosent work! before i flashed it i installed clockwork recovery but re-installed alpharev because i couldn't partition my sd card from CW.
i partitioned it 2gb FAT = 1gb ext = 128mb ext with 32m swap, help please?
Running AlphaRev Recovery
S-OFF
AlphaRev is not a recovery.
Can you boot in to recovery? If not make sure you flash a desire compatible image.
Did you change hboot image? If yes make sure it's not to small.

Hi.
Ricky's phone wont power on, cant boot into recovery and when the charger is plugged in there is no led lights nothing. Basically dead ?
What does "re-installed alpharev because i couldn't partition my sd card from CW" even mean? You flashed Amon Ra Recovery or did you flash a different hboot?
You also can't boot in to fastboot?
If not, check the md5 of whatever you did with with AlphaRev to see if it matches. If it doesn't I believe this is the end of the story.
Tried the basics, battery off for 30 seconds and back on.. etc?
Your post is a little squiff
I'm Ricky's mums partner and what he did was rooted his phone and he had clockwork mod recovery, he then flashed alpharev and then went back to clockwork mod ???and because he couldn't partition his SD through Clockwork mod he went back to alpha rev lmao.
I give Ricky an old defrost rom I had stored on laptop and as far as I gather he flashed that and then his phone went Erm...........dead.
Battery has been taken out, put back in n nothing happens lol phone is completely d.e.a.d
Hope that explains it a little better lmao
Btw I see a Welsh dragon where in Wales are u ? I'm originally from south
Edit: I see Swansea lol I was a little further up towards neath Ish, actually Ystradgynlais
Once again, AlphaRev is not a recovery, you can't replace clockworkmod with AlphaRev. You can replace clockworkmod with Amon Ra Recovery. So did you/he use the AlphaRev.iso and what did you/he do with it? Only run the iso? Anything with fastboot commands and hboot images after S-offing? Did the phone still boot after this, because flashing a rom can't brick your phone.
Does the phone boot when you do it with volume down + power or back + power?
Lmao ok he replaced clockwork mod with amnon and then went back to clockwork mod and because he couldn't partition sd he flashed amnon again lol
His phone is s/off and God knows what he done with the iso?
As I said nothing happens with his phone, power down, volume down, back button etc etc no led when charger is attached?
Tried a different battery?

Yep tried my battery and still nothing lol
Does the phone connect to a PC via usb when connected, ie does anything at all show in the Device manager?
The led not lighting up when connecting is a bad singe but, you know that you have to use back or volume down in combination with the power button (at the same time)? And to make the guessing game a bit easier, the phone did work normal after changing the recovery images? It only went bad after flashing Defrost?
Yeah I know about the combination mate. Rick is not here at mo but will ask what he did do so you can get a clear picture lol
I'm only telling you what rick told me lol think there's more to it though.

I have the same problem, my phone is "bricked" it does not power on even though my battery is fully charged, and the led does not turn on when I plugin the battery-charger anymore, it is completely dead, "bricked".
right from scratch this is what happened,
i was running AlphaRev Recovery 2.5.1.3 with my own rom and it was working fine, i decided to go back to defrost as i like the interface better. I downloaded Clockwork mod recovery from xda.richardtrip.org and flashed it, only after that i noticed i couldnt partition my SD card from clockwork mod and reflashed AlphaRev 1.8 HBOOT, partitioned sd card, booted my phone to check the partition had worked, wiped data, cache & dalvik & then flashed defrost 6.0k with defrosts recommended radio and kernel, clicked reboot system after flashing and a blank screen was on for about 15 mins so i pulled the battery left it 30 secs tried to boot into HBOOT but it wouldn't turn on
Still doesnt answer the question, does the PC respond at all when you connect the USB cable?

no it dosen't
Next Time use Gparted to partition the card, and has more options (and it's even not that hard to use).
Well, the phone doe not responds... sounds like a brick, but I read once, that a guy had the same problem like you (altough he did not flash stuff like a mad man ), but after 12 hours the phone just started up from nowhere and it's working ever since.

makes no sense. there is NO such thing as AlphaRev RECOVERY. Alpha rev is a way to make your device S-OFF. it cannot in anyway be a sub for a recovery.
the number u wrote (2.5.1.3) would suggest that u had ClockworkMod recovery. any other option is AmonRa recovery.
"i decided to go back to defrost as i like the interface better. I downloaded Clockwork mod recovery from xda.richardtrip.org and flashed it"
again i dunno what u mean by that. if you were runnig a custom ROM u had to have some recovery (clockwork or amonra) so if u wanted to change a ROM u just needed to put it in your SD card and flash. it just makes no sense, do some reading and then try to tell us what did u exactly do with your phone
SOLVED
ok so I was on the kingdom port, and I was tired of sense continuously rebooting so I put the sprint lovers PCIMG on my SD card. I put the file on my card, rebooted into recovery through the phone (so it didnt check for PC36IMG.zip) and wiped all data. I boot the phone while holding power, it gets to the "Loading... [PC36IMG.zip]" but it doesnt go any further. Any ideas on what I can do to get this thing back up and running?
edit:: ok so while I was in a mad rampage finding out what I should do, the option finally came up asking me if I wanted to start the update.
For the past few months I have been running CM7 with no problems, but lately I've been running into many problems at once, with bunches of apps force closing at once, not being able to download new apps, and nothing saving between reboots (downloaded apps, new widgets, etc).
I finally gave up with all this nonsense and tried a factory reset, but all my apps were still there after wiping. I was really confused and decided to revert to stock using the PB31IMG.zip file I found on another post here.
Now I'm stuck in a boot loop and am out of ideas. Can someone please help?

Slow down, you're not bricked if you can power on. If you're trying to do a complete factory reset, go here to obtain the latest stock image. Ensure your sdcard is FAT32, and put that file (renamed exactly as PB31IMG.zip) on the root of your sdcard. Pull the battery, reinsert, boot into HBOOT (by holding down power and vol down) and wait for it to load the file. Select yes (vol up) to apply update and let it do it's thing. Once done and in your "new" stock OS, unrevoked to re root.

That's what I just did... Several times. I'm stuck in a boot loop
try using the windows ruu utility. Also what radio are you running now.
I recently rooted my HTC Incredible and flashed Cyanogen 7 on it. There were a few issues with the ROM, so I decided to try to flash it again. I backed everything up, then went into ROM Manager and flashed Clockwork, then selected the option to reboot in Recovery mode. But when I got to the HBoot screen and tried to select "Recovery," the HTC Incredible screen flashed, but then I was brought instead to the "Fastboot" menu. If I select "Bootloader" and try again, I'm brought back to Hboot. It is now stuck on this cycle.
I tried to reboot the phone to get into the ROM Manager, but when I did that, the phone got stuck on the Cyanogen splash screen. It's done this multiple times.
Consulting a friend, I then went on to dougpiston.com and downloaded a recovery .zip (Verzion 3.0.0.8), put it on my SD card via someone else's phone, and put the SD card back in my phone. There was no change.
This is where I am currently. I'm still new to rooting, and I've done the research that I can. But every thread I found that dealt with problems booting into Recovery required you to be able to boot up the phone. Every thread that dealt with problems booting up regularly made use of Recovery mode. I'm stuck here, and I would really appreciate any advice.
So did you actually flash the recovery you downloaded? The recoveries from www.dougpiston.com are PB31IMG.zip files that are flashed in hboot. Put it on the root of the SD card, boot in hboot, it will find the zip and ask you if you want to update, press volume up to confirm. Then try to boot into recovery.
After much sweating and cursing, a friend of mine noticed that my SD card somehow changed its format from FAT32. We moved all of the card's contents off, formatted it, and then put everything back on before reinserting it and booting the phone. Hboot performed its update, then we were able to boot into Clockwork. I wiped the phone clean and re-flashed Cyanogen. That got me back into the phone, where a few small fixes took care of the few minor problems that began this whole nightmare.
Thanks for your help. If you hadn't suggested poking around the card we wouldn't have found the problem!
I'm glad you got it figured out! I totally spaced to tell you to make sure the SD card was fat32, I just kind of assumed.
