ok so I was on the kingdom port, and I was tired of sense continuously rebooting so I put the sprint lovers PCIMG on my SD card. I put the file on my card, rebooted into recovery through the phone (so it didnt check for PC36IMG.zip) and wiped all data. I boot the phone while holding power, it gets to the "Loading... [PC36IMG.zip]" but it doesnt go any further. Any ideas on what I can do to get this thing back up and running?
edit:: ok so while I was in a mad rampage finding out what I should do, the option finally came up asking me if I wanted to start the update.

Hello,
I have a AT&T Tilt 2 that is caught in the boot cycle. Splash screen comes on, it reboots. I'm quite confident that flashing a new ROM will fix it it but the phone has not had hard SPL installed so I can only flash the original AT&T ROM, which as far as I can tell is not available?
I've tried to install SPL but it won't take in the state that phone is in. Is there a way to flash SPL from the memory card? Any other suggestion on how to flash it? Is the original AT&T ROM available?
Any other suggestions on how to proceed?
Your input is greatly appreciated.
try this
copy recovery img from wiki to root of micro sd card. img should be named xxx.img, insert microsd card into phone
with phone off hold down the vol down key and the red/phone call end button then power on, with any luck you should see the tricolour boot screen and the img should be detected and flashed automatically. ensure at least 50% battery
try taking your sd card out of your phone and then reboot. if that takes it out of the boot cycle, then you have installed a program to your sd card that is putting it into the endless boot cycle. after your phone boots up, uninstall whatever program that you installed to your sd card. hopefully that helps.
if all else fails, try a hard reset. just hold down the send button, end call button and power button simultaneously. it will ask you to press the volume up button to proceed. that will wipe your phone to factory settings and then you can hardspl your phone and flash away!
Milo, thanks for your reply... I can't seem to locate that recovery img on Wiki, hate to ask but can you post the link?
spacemonkey, I've tried those steps and it's still caught in the boot cycle.
You might want to explain how your phone got caught in the boot cycle to begin with. If it happened randomly, and you weren't trying to mod the phone, then just take it in for service. But somehow I doubt that's what happened. What were you doing? How come you don't have hard spl on there? What did you try to flash onto your phone, and how did you try to do it? These are all important questions that you should answer first before blindly flashing things to your phone.
The unit froze up. Tried to reboot the phone, it boot looped. Tried a hard reset, it continued to reboot.
It initially happened when a text message was coming in.
May just have to send it in. It doesn't want to take a flash of any kind it seems.

If it just crapped out on its own, then the last thing you want to do is try to fix it on your own (other than doing the obvious like hard resetting and pulling the battery). Just return it and get another.
Well it's not that easy since I'm in Canada and it has to go to AT&T so I thought if I could get it going it would save me a lot of hassle but it seems I have no choice!
alright so i was trying to install ruby and my SD card said it was full so int he porcess or trying to format my SD card i think i formatted my phones storage instead. so not knowing i went and tried to install the ruby rom like normal realizing that it would never boot so after trying to format all the partions of the phone through clockwork and still nothing worked.
so i went and decided i was gonna try and just downgrade or unroot so i ran this
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dro...wngrading.html
and placed the pb311img on the SD card and excuted it and it disabled the clockwork and all that but not it just keep hanging up in the screen that you get when you hold vol down and power and it wont do anything when i try and reboot it it just keep going back to this screen..need help ASAP as this is my only phone and i dont wanna get a refurb
The link you posted isn't working, but I am hoping it is a link to the PB31IMG.zip for downgrading the incredible and not the droid. I actually had an issue with this downgrade once, and if I am reading your post correctly you're saying that after flashing the downgrade zip it reboots you straight into the hboot where you select recovery/fastboot/clear storage etc. This happened to me as well, I went to recovery, where you have to hold Vol Up + Power to bring up the menu, where I did a factory reset. Then I rebooted back into hboot again, flashed the PB again and it rebooted fine.
hi if someone can help me with this it would be great i have a fully rooted htc evo i had myn rom flashed i did the back up and wipe to flash new rom and all of a sudden my phone shuts off and i get 5 vibrates while screen is black and the green light on the top of my evo is flashing i tryed to get into recovery and when i hit recovery it does the same thing screen turns black and green light flashes. when i turn my phone on normally it boots up to the rom i have installed but then after about 5min is shuts down and does the same thing anyone plz i really hope i didnt brick my beautiful evo.
You say the phone phone boots into the new rom and is fine for 5 minutes before this happens, so it's not bricked. if it was bricked, it wouldn't do anything at all.
Boot the phone normally, go get ROM Manager from the market and use it to reflash the recovery onto your phone. Then try booting into recovery again and see if you can restore your NAND or wipe and reflash the rom.
yea i had warm and like it comes up and then within 5 min the screen shuts down and vibrates 5 times ive tryed dl rom man from the market place and then an error comes up and then phone shuts down
yea i cant even dl rom manager it keeps telling me a network error has occured im lost right now

Have you singed into Google after flashing the new rom? Try doing that and also try accessing the market while you're connected on WiFi instead of 3G.
Try this...
Im assuming you can get into recovery. Clockwork or amen Ra. Wipe EVERYTHING. Then on your stock ROM sign into google and try to DL Rom manager off of the market. Once its downloaded flash a new ROM or just go to your backed up ROM....
Dont panic. Should be simple enough
yes once you get into recovery everything else should be a breeze
what if i reboot into recovery and clear storage will that work i cant dl rom manager at all and if i hit recovery it shuts the phone off and vibrates 5 times

I Think you should do this, and it saddens me it wasn't mentioned yet.
Go to the dev section of this forum and find the thread for Amon-Ra 2.3 and open that threat and download the PC36IMG.ZIP file and place it on the root of your SD card, if need be you may need a microsd card reader for your coomputer.
next, boot the phone up holding down power and volume up for fastboot. When it asks if you want to flash the PC36IMG.ZIP recovery image, hit volume up to accept.
now try and boot into recovery again and see what happens.
btw, since I am nice, here is that thread you need.

If it didn't ask you if you wanted to update, then the file is named incorrectly or it is not on the root of your SD card. Make sure the PC36IMG file is not inside an folders. Also, make sure you did not add .zip to the end because if you did, the file is now named PC36IMG.zip.zip and your phone won't recognize it.
You can also name the file "update.zip" and then look for the option in recovery to flash update.zip and do it that way. Again, file must be in the root of your SD card and not in any folders.
sry about all this bro im kinda new with this and im learning and ty soo much for helping me out if i had a damn cell phone id just have you call me hahaha and walk me through it your deff getting the ty button if you can help me get my evo back ill donate like 20 bucks lol
should i unzip the files in the zip folder or put the whole zipped folder on the root of my sd card
just but the zip on your sd card do not extract it...
curious if this worked for him...
no i cant seem to get this to work i did everything that was told of me to do and still nothing when i hold down the volume button and power button to boot into recovery and i hit recovery it goes to the htc white screen and then all of a sudden my phones screen turns black and vibrates 5 times and in the top left hand corner the green light will flash and keep flashing and in order to restart my phone i have to pull the battery i cant just power it down
Having a similar problem too, keeps doing a boot loop, in the bootloader (clockworkmod) i cant get into recovery, tried many different pc36img.zip files to no avail. Mine gets to the 'htc EVO 4g' screen, holds a few seconds, then reboots, shows the white screen and reboots again, continues until i pull battery.
Trying more and more img.zips, hopefully i can find the right one to atleast get back to stock.

Just download the RUU. That will get you back to stock, but then you would need to re-root.
i tryed that but it came up error that my usb cord was not connected to my pc make sure its connected to phone and pc
Without using adb, I think running the ruu and starting over is your best bet.
I recently rooted my HTC Incredible and flashed Cyanogen 7 on it. There were a few issues with the ROM, so I decided to try to flash it again. I backed everything up, then went into ROM Manager and flashed Clockwork, then selected the option to reboot in Recovery mode. But when I got to the HBoot screen and tried to select "Recovery," the HTC Incredible screen flashed, but then I was brought instead to the "Fastboot" menu. If I select "Bootloader" and try again, I'm brought back to Hboot. It is now stuck on this cycle.
I tried to reboot the phone to get into the ROM Manager, but when I did that, the phone got stuck on the Cyanogen splash screen. It's done this multiple times.
Consulting a friend, I then went on to dougpiston.com and downloaded a recovery .zip (Verzion 3.0.0.8), put it on my SD card via someone else's phone, and put the SD card back in my phone. There was no change.
This is where I am currently. I'm still new to rooting, and I've done the research that I can. But every thread I found that dealt with problems booting into Recovery required you to be able to boot up the phone. Every thread that dealt with problems booting up regularly made use of Recovery mode. I'm stuck here, and I would really appreciate any advice.
So did you actually flash the recovery you downloaded? The recoveries from www.dougpiston.com are PB31IMG.zip files that are flashed in hboot. Put it on the root of the SD card, boot in hboot, it will find the zip and ask you if you want to update, press volume up to confirm. Then try to boot into recovery.
After much sweating and cursing, a friend of mine noticed that my SD card somehow changed its format from FAT32. We moved all of the card's contents off, formatted it, and then put everything back on before reinserting it and booting the phone. Hboot performed its update, then we were able to boot into Clockwork. I wiped the phone clean and re-flashed Cyanogen. That got me back into the phone, where a few small fixes took care of the few minor problems that began this whole nightmare.
Thanks for your help. If you hadn't suggested poking around the card we wouldn't have found the problem!
I'm glad you got it figured out! I totally spaced to tell you to make sure the SD card was fat32, I just kind of assumed.
My daughter has this phone and she gave it to me to fix it was doing the same thing as stated in op kept rebooting on its own and would vibrae over an over , playing with the power button it would try to reboot sometimes it would get to the home screen but would rebot again i took the back piece off and cleaned around the power button and i would try to go into recovery but it kept rebooting, i kept trying and messing around with it and i got it to go into recovery and just enough time to clear cache brfote it robboted angian by itself still same thing, kept at it and got it to go into recovery again but i accidentally push update adb and it started to do what it does when you pushed that but i kept pressing power from a panic then i finally rebooted successful now im currently got it working its plugged into my computer it installed successfully but i don't see the storage on my computer, it does not have a sd card in it tho i have one to put in it and it does not have a sim card it it either tho i have the one my daughter gave me that she had to to her phone, i quickly turned on usb debuugging incase i need to odin firmware or something im not sure what do do from here so im asking any one that might know what i should do? If it was the power button i clean it as best as i can and aired it out too, im thinking this might tho do it again since im not sure what fixed it to this point except from what i did to it from what i wrote here. Please if anyone has any ideas out there so i can keep this thing fixed let me know in your replys TY!

First off, that's one hell of a long sentence!
Had you (or your daughter) recently installed a ROM and forgot to factory reset (clear all caches) the phone after doing so? Many at times, this is what causes boot loops. And you cleared cache, which I think has resolved the problem. However, MAKE A BACKUP on your phone (and onto your computer, just in case the phone hard-bricks) using your Recovery right away! Once you make the backup, there's no need to worry about whether you soft-brick your phone again; you can simply restore that backup. It's also highly possible that it was your power button, but since you said you did clean it up thoroughly, it might just be the cache preventing you from rebooting normally.
Either way, it's good to hear you got your phone working now. I would highly recommend that you make a backup before doing anything else with the phone - just to be on the safe side. Good luck!
