DON'T use it!
Android handles running apps fine. You don't need a task killer. Task killers only cause problems with many apps that need to be running.

If you have a task manager/killer try removing it....that is a common cause of android fc's

A couple of times EVERY SINGLE APP FC'ed and I had to restart...

No force closing been using it for a while and I am very happy with it

Now that I see someone mentioned that launcher pro causes force closes. Can anyone verify that? I'm using launcher pro plus from day one of owning g2 so I don't know if it would do the same on launcher 2. But I have also been using pro plus on my previous phones without these problems.

I didn't install many things on my phone and it has been working fine for a little more than a week and then 2 days ago google voice began force closing absolutely out of no where... and it still isn't working properly.
I'm using adw launcher...the launcher works fine, its just my apps that FC from time to time...I don't know why,all my apps are up to date and I'm not using task killer

The only app I've really had a problem with is ironically the xda app I'm using right now, primarily when I open it after an existing session.

Hey guys in running the odexed version of the debloated rom on my gs2. I was wondering if you guys use any type of task killer and it you do which one do.you guys use?
All help will be greatly appreciated

Task killers are pretty much obsolete after 2.1. Android is has become a lot better at managing itself. A lot of people recommend not using them as they cause more problems than they fix.

No need for task killer with GB but you can press and hold home and it will show task manager and you can clear the memory or kill any active apps

Word, not to mention that touchwiz has its own task manager out of the box, making it 2x pointless to install a 3rd party task manager.

You really don't need to use a task killer after froyo. If your running jellybean, or ICS, just swipe the app off the built in task manager, that works better then any third party app.

Some people like to have the auto kill take control.

Some people are dumb.
Beyond froyo, android will kill apps as resources are needed. Auto task killers use more battery by making you constantly restart apps.

The only app worth force closing is Facebook.
My girlfriend has an s3 and it drives me up a wall every time I see her swipe away all her apps. I'm like wtf are you doing?! You have 2gb of ram! That's more than my netbook!

Amen to that :good:
I let Android handle it on its own, unless it's a seldomly used app that I've only temporarily used.. I'll close those when I'm done. Task killers aren't worth it.
I see tons of people recommending against task killers, which is fine. That's no reason, however, to allow hundreds of apps to start up on their own (e.g., at boot, when Internet access is active, etc.). ROM Toolbox Lite has many useful apps, one of which is an auto-start manager. I'm sure there are others.
Autostarts is very useful for preventing apps from starting. Before ICS, I relied on Advanced Task Killer. Now I just use Autostarts and the stock task manager to manage running tasks.

I never had this problem with my S2 and Note 2. But now with the S4, it's happened quite often! I use AlarmDroid app as I like the features. But it's been unreliable. It doesn't go off like 50% of the times. I don't have task killer so that's not the problem. Anyone experiencing the same problem with 3rd party alarm apps?? Any idea why or how to fix it?
Here's a forum where people are talking about such a thing. It's in regards to some htc phone, but some of the ideas seem applicable:

Do not use advanced task killer. Android does a very good job of managing everything. There are many things that run in the background or stay as a cache on your ram. That is what you are seeing. Do not end these tasks because it actually uses more battery to reload then into RAM. Unless you have a rogue app draining your battery do not fret over it.

If you're rooted you can use an app called Autostarts to prevent apps from running after boot.
