All help will be greatly appreciated

Task killers are pretty much obsolete after 2.1. Android is has become a lot better at managing itself. A lot of people recommend not using them as they cause more problems than they fix.

No need for task killer with GB but you can press and hold home and it will show task manager and you can clear the memory or kill any active apps

Word, not to mention that touchwiz has its own task manager out of the box, making it 2x pointless to install a 3rd party task manager.

So I'm running a 2100 m a h extended life battery and I know I should be getting better life than this. I'm running 4.1 jelly bean on cdma phone, stock kernel. I also have the app killer checked on, and my screen brightness is pretty low. I've been having my wifi at home but still for 4 hours in 40 percent screen time that's really bad numbers. just wondering if anybody has any input

Uninstall your task killer, those do more harm than good. And download BetterBatteryStats to see what is draining your battery.
More likely it's your apps that are causing it to drain very badly. Any shady looking apps I would uninstall. And like above me, do those both as well.

What setting is this? And don't use it.
You may want to use the Better Battery stats application to check for wake locks.
Trying a different kernel may also help. The Faux kernel works well for myself.
Lastly, the standby time doesn't give as much insight into your battery life as well as screen on time does. What kind of screen on time are you getting?
Note: don't use task killers, and don't manually kill applications.

Wow your right. First for some reason I couldn't even click back on x d a developers app kept force closing and after I check that I can finally go back didn't think that would effect so much

Turn off any app killing, as you've done.
In your screenshot, you had a lot of calls, that'll do it too, so battery life can vary.
Here is today's. I don't get it. 2100 math battery low brightness display

Why is task killing worse than good?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I am not sure about the stock app killer but any 3rd party app killer is constantly scanning your phone looking for apps running even if there is none so it's constantly using battery power

You really don't need to use a task killer after froyo. If your running jellybean, or ICS, just swipe the app off the built in task manager, that works better then any third party app.

Some people are dumb.
Beyond froyo, android will kill apps as resources are needed. Auto task killers use more battery by making you constantly restart apps.

The only app worth force closing is Facebook.
My girlfriend has an s3 and it drives me up a wall every time I see her swipe away all her apps. I'm like wtf are you doing?! You have 2gb of ram! That's more than my netbook!

Amen to that :good:
I let Android handle it on its own, unless it's a seldomly used app that I've only temporarily used.. I'll close those when I'm done. Task killers aren't worth it.
I see tons of people recommending against task killers, which is fine. That's no reason, however, to allow hundreds of apps to start up on their own (e.g., at boot, when Internet access is active, etc.). ROM Toolbox Lite has many useful apps, one of which is an auto-start manager. I'm sure there are others.
Autostarts is very useful for preventing apps from starting. Before ICS, I relied on Advanced Task Killer. Now I just use Autostarts and the stock task manager to manage running tasks.

Hi I have note 2 which is fantastic and I am very pleased with it. So far I was getting perfect battery life but lately it doesn't last that long so I installed BBS and this audioOut wakelock is preventing my phone from sleeping. Is there a chance to find which program is keeping this wakelock? I searched the web and there is Nino help. It is almost always on silent and I am not using it to listen to the music. Thanks

I've seen all kinds of "fixes" here - e.g. switch ringtones and reboot, turn off all system sounds, use Task Manager to turn off everything and many more.
Not one has worked for me on any ROM with any kernel, which makes me suspect that it's a rogue app. It never takes me a long time to realise that I cannot be bothered trying to track down the responsible app, so I live with it. YMMV. Viber has been mentioned frequently (never had it myself).
Sounds very similar to the Media drain problem. Similar alleged reasons, similar useless solutions, even poor Viber is also wrongfully scapegoated. What kills me is once the problem start it remains no matter what the heck you do, even if you wipe, root, change roms, format, remove/change sd card, etc... Nothing short of a hammer will solve the ****ing problem.
Download advanced task killer and set it to kill all apps at screen off. Also configure greenify to greenify all apps.

Hey all! Anyone having issues with XDA app?
Having troubles clicking on a post to reply....usually it highlights the one above. If you find the sweet spot near the bottom of the post you wanna quote/thank then it finally works.
And I'm getting tonnes of force closes.
This is happening on my t989 and my N7. So must be app related? I've tried tapatalk, but after the last update, the edit function seems broke. I make way too many spelling mistakes to tolerate that glitch. LOL
Just wondering if I'm alone with these issues??
Thanks!!

Actually ...I looked on play store. The ratings lately complain of both these issues. Come on XDA devs ....set an example for the rest of the app world. LOL
This is an app for a development site, and you can't iron out your own apps bugs.
If I could edit my posts in tapatalk....xda app would be gone.
