Hey guys im having trouble with my phone when setcpu is running. When ever i come out of lock screen it takes a few seconds to be able to do stuff on my phone, like its waking up from sleep. Also some times i get this message and it has to reboot.
"Sorry activity htc sense (in application HTC Sense) is not responding."
Im running the 2.6.32.15 king # 4 kernel.
My set CPU settings are on 1.15 GHz max and 460800 MHz min. Im running conservative at the moment but it does it on other scaling like performance and on demand. my setting for screen off is 460min 614 max.
Is there anything im doing wrong? or should i be using a different kernel? What kernels are the best? Thanks
I would bump up the lower end to about 600. I have have issues lower than that coming out of sleep.
im running virtuous 2.7
power saving kernel
Main Profile is 245-998 ondemand
Screen Off is 245-384 ondemand
I do not have that problem... but it would be a lie if I told you i didn't before!
I was having this problem you are talking about when my main profile was set to conservative.
EDIT: Back up your setcpu + settings in titanium... Uninstall it (or freeze it) and see if the kernel can run it just fine cause it probably will. Most kernels already have the settings for optimum performance and even the devs who make them (like hydra) say that it will work best without setcpu.

"I recommend not using the setcpu controls or governor with these kernels. Let the stock governor do the work. If you have setcpu installed I recommend clearing out the settings before flashing the kernels. You can use it to monitor cpu speeds or an app from the market called systempanel if so desired."
I have just recently reinstalled SetCPU on my Desire, and I am running CM6 Nightly #170 at the moment and I wondered which "scaling" setting was best to set the program to?
Is there somewhere that lists the difference between the scaling options, I want the device to be snappy, but not at the expense of huge amounts of battery life.
Thanks
Stu
Here is some information about the most scalings, only smartass is not given but for what i know it's a little more snappy than on demand with the addition off clock it down to the minimum set frequency when screen off.
And for what you should use you have to try that for your self.
It may be because a new battery app I installed? Or maybe because I was tempering with the CPU? Any help? I'll try to uninstall setcpu and my battery app
Which values have you set as frequency of CPU?? maybe it's a problem of frequency..you must go slow with CPU
For some reason I don't have an option to undervolt anything in SetCPU which I presume is there because it's listed as an app capability and it seems others on this forum have been able to undervolt with this app. I also understand that the ability to undervolt must be first unlocked by a kernel before it can be accessed through SetCPU, and I have this kernel flashed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466283
which does list undervolting as a possibility. Am I missing something here? Why can I only schedule profiles around clock speed?
**As a side note, I tried out system tuner and I can reach the undervolting through system tuner but I don't really like the interface for system tuner so I would prefer sticking with SetCPU if possible (especially since I already paid for it)
**My ROM is stock, does that make a difference? Isn't the capability only dependent on the kernel?
DO NOT USE SETCPU! It keeps your second core constantly running which means terrible battery life. I recommend Gideon's script or FauxClock (Which is what I use.) I also recommend undervolting it to -75 mV.
With the Setcpu app I set up a profile to help keep my phone a bit more cool (Arizona heat outside don't help -.-) I set it that above 60c change the governor to conservative and pull back 1ghz (from 2.4ghz) but when I see it go active it looks like it only applys it to the first core (Core:0) and not the others I wanted to ask is this normal or how can I get it to change the profile on all cores when it gets hot.
BTW I'm using Slimkat ROM and Temsek 3.60 kernal and using the Developer options to see temp and core activity.
