I'm thinking of HTC Mozart for its best (?) camera. But in "also like the LG Optimus 7th
Any suggestions?
Note: I live in Sweden and we only Have 4 devices to choose from, Htc Mozart, Trophy, LG Optimus 7 & the Samsung Omnia 7.
Thanks!
Im in the US and have had an HTC surround (similar to the other HTC devices) and am currently using a Samsung Focus (just like the Omnia 7 in a different shell), and I would say to go with the Omnia 7 just for the screen. Its amazing and the colors of the tiles really pop. I especially love how the black makes it blend into the bezel so you can see where the screen ends and the bezel begins

As someone who owns all the U.S. released devices I sincerely advise against HTC WP7 devices. They're typically slower than the others and have the worst battery life. That said it depends on what you're more concerned with. The Optimus 7 has amazing battery life and the Omnia 7 has a great screen. Whichever of those two is more important to you jump on that device.
Due to the onboard storage, the Omnia 7 is pretty much the fastest WP7 device out there at loading and resuming applications.
Very responsive touch screen as well.
The downsides? It's not upgradable, so you're stuck with the 8Gb storage space. Also, you get colour banding on fine gradients when you look at web pages and photos.
Personally, I love the device and wouldn't swap it for anything else. I can live with the smaller storage space.

I have to agree. The Omnia 7 is by far the best device in Europe with WP7. I had the HD7, the Mozart and LG E900. At least i got stuck with the Omnia 7 with 16 GB of Memory. Its well produced and looks way better than the ugly LG device. In terms of speed LG and Omnia 7 are equal. In case of OEM Apps LG outperforms HTC and Samsung by far.
Best way is to test the Devices yourself in store.
Thanks everyone, i liked the Htc Mozart but as you guys say, the battery life sucks and i've heard the display aint that good either.
LG Optimus 7 is kinda nice but i dont know.
The Omnia 7 is just so freaking ugly!! Don't you guys agree?
Don't know what to choose, great display or great battery?

The omnia 7 isn't that attractive but it holds together well. You dont have to worry about a 2 foot drop shattering your phones existence as you do with the mozart. The display on it is amazing especially in dark themes since the SAMOLED screens dont light up the black pixels at all and the battery life is nothing to complain about, just not as good as the optimus 7
I would go with the Omnia 7.
Excepting that I want more Memory - highly recommend my Omnia 7 - in balance the memory trade off is worth it (if you can find a 16 GB version I'd pay the extra if buying again).
Sent from my Omnia with only 8GB using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Omnia7:
it's the most beautiful WP7 device available, has the best screen and the best camera (Mozart may have more MP but the photos aren't good).
I use a program that's called Spotify, streaming music for 7$/month, it's coming to WP7 soon so i won't really need 16 GB storage.
I guess ill have to think about the Omnia 7 then.. haha
Thanks everyone!

Omnia 7 for sure. If I were you I'd purchase it from Germany though as you can currently pick it up for around 2500,- rather than the 4000,- or even 5000,- they cost in Sweden. Not to mention you get 16GB instead of the standard 8GB.
Holy **** guys!

Take my advice.. Trophy 7 have the perfect screen size, it's beautiful and have a nice grip. Try it (;

I agree, the samsung omnia/ focus/ galaxy s line have all looked kinda cheap to me. Nice screen, but other than that, looks quite tacky.
From what I heard on the podcasts, the trophy has the bast camera of the wp7 line, so if that is what is important to you, get it.

Do a search on preis.de. I know some people have purchased from ES-Mobilefunk, but can't vouch for them myself. I've used mp3player.de which price matched the cheapest alternative on the list.
If you by insurance mean warranty I'm not sure - I do believe Samsung Sweden will honor a European wide warranty though, but check to make sure. If indeed you mean insurance, just insure it like you would any other handset.

You seriously cannot put the Omnia7 and the Focus in the same category. One is all plasticy and feels cheap while the other is all metal and feels real sturdy.
As for the Trophy having the better camera, well, it may be the best HTC has to offer, but that really doesn't say much considering how bad the HD7 is or how the Mozart doesn't really give better pictures with it's 8MP camera.
it's simply sweet!!!!!!

that's what sucks about North America, we are always at the mercy of the big telecoms
if we want the latest and greatest we have to always import it ourselves or in worse case, we can't even do that due the different bandwidth with some carriers
And That's the phone i ve been waiting to see....... been saving my quarters

Hey guys,
Basically my Omnia 7 Bricked itself, due to unknown reasons....
Samsung said it was unrepairable so were supposed to be sending me a new Omnia 7. This was about 3 weeks ago. They finally got back to me to say that they don't produce the Omnia 7 anymore.
Now they are going to send me a Galaxy S 2. I've read articles from July saying about WP7 rumours.
Have these been confirmed or denied?
Just wondering if the S2 they send me will come with WP7 or Android on it. Apprently Head Office suggested it as a replacement phone, so whether they took note of my current OS (WP7). Who knows.
If they said they're sending a GS2 then you're getting an Android phone which is odd considering you were on WP7. The closest thing to that on WP7 would be the Focus S which isn't out yet and seems to be a US exclusive. So really it seems you're getting an Android phone. I'm sure you can get some sort of extra compensation for not getting a phone with the same OS.
Ahhh man, I never knew I could get extra compensation. I guess it's too late now that I've accepted it as a replacement.
Yeah you could have argued that you had already invested in apps and games that you can't get a refund for and that you have to repurchase them on Android. Not saying they would have added something for sure but you would have had a strong case to defend. You can still try once you've received the GS2.
Call when you receive it.... Honestly I'd be pissed if I was sent an android phone when I needed a replacement for my windows phone. Livid to say the least... Not just apps etc., but for the simple fact if I wanted android I would have bought one in the first place.
Its definatly not too late though. Call when you receive it and say "Why in the hell is this an android phone." " I didn't agree or accept this"

Don't accept it. The successor to the Omnia 7, the Omnia W, is due out very soon. That's the replacement you should insist on.
Well at the moment I've just gone and started a new contract with a Htc Titan, and was going to sell Omnia 7 and pay off old contract. I'll just sell the S2.

It's strange they would say those words. But essentially they do have a GSG2 version for WP7. It's called the Focus S and should be coming out in a week. It is actually better, hardware-wise than the SGS2.
If this is the phone you get, count yourself very fortunate because it will be the premium phone to have with WP7.
How is a Focus S better than a SGS2 hardware-wise? You read some things here, I have to rub my eyes sometimes.
And from the story it's quite clear he's getting a SGS2 by the way.

Eh...the camera has a dedicated button and I did say camera, not video processing. The CPU in the Focus S is a single core which will provide better battery life. I'd rather have better battery life than a CPU that isn't being utilized. The rest is software related and can be improved with updates.

The glossy finish is up to the feedback they receive. I can almost guarantee people will say they prefer the matt finish of the 800.

I'm probably one of the only ones, but this sounds like it would be perfect for me... if only it had a portrait QWERTY (slider I assume) keyboard.
Is it too much to ask for someone other than Dell to make one?
The glossy finish might mean a white version like the n9. They just need to include all of the n9 features but with a bigger screen and better camera.
I just upgraded my hd7 to 32gb but would buy this still but would prefer a 64gb version. If they can do it for the n9 they can do it for this one.

for me it depends..
I use my quantum keyboard all the time, though with a screen that large I could definitely cope without it.
If this comes to Canada it is my next phone for sure.
C'mon TELUS, bring in something worthwhile..
I have a question about these Nokia Lumia devices. Do the Lumia devices offer a LED charge light or LED notification light? I miss this on my DVP and was wondering if it will be on these devices, havent seen any so im suspecting not.
If its true this has LTE - Verizon I'm coming back!!!
Still doesn't sound like enough differentiation. It might stand out design-wise but it sounds hardly worth the wait. Now, if they brought an N8 class camera and Tango brings better camera options: I'd wait in line. For now, the Samsung Focus S brings the same CPU and 4.3" AMOLED+ which is better than March.
AT&T gets the Titan, TMO gets the Radar.
AT&T gets the Nokia 900, TMO gets the Nokia 710.
It appears that my HD7 will continue to soldier on. It dissappoints me after TMO's relationship with mega-screen Windows phones: HD2>HD7>??? Where's the successor?
I actually went and played with a Radar and it was a nice phone. It is simply not worth giving up the extra screen space.

Gonna wait for the WP8 devices. I'm still VERY happy with my original Focus, especially following the Mango update, so I won't waste my upgrade on a "mid generation" device, which is really what every single one of the new WP7.5 models are.
What else could they possibly offer that the lumia 900 can't be upgraded to wp8. Are you telling me it can't be upgraded to wp8
Sent from my Venue Pro using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Perhaps the Nokia Ace will have some NFC features built in. I've been reading that MS have recently clarified that WP7.5 does not have ny NFC capability (regardless of OEMs including the tech in their handsets), but they are working on it for 2012 as requested by Samsung and Nokia.
I'd like to see NFC for features like bump to pair with bluetooth speakers, bump to pair with car kits, and of course for electronic payments.
I read this on Yahoo News:
HTC’s (2498) rumored DROID Incredible X smartphone has allegedly been chosen as one of Google’s (GOOG) upcoming Nexus devices, according to a report from GSM Arena. Google is widely expected to have not one but five new Nexus devices available to consumers this fall. Earlier this year, the search giant partnered with ASUS (2357) to release the Nexus 7 tablet, the first Nexus-branded device of 2012. The Mountain View-based company has reportedly partnered with HTC to produce the Google “Nexus 5″ smartphone.
The device is said to be running Android 4.1.2 — which includes bug fixes, Project Butter improvements, additional lock screen functionality and other tweaks — and is said to be equipped with a 5-inch 1080p full HD display and a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The company’s first phablet will also feature “a super slim design” and a large 2,500 mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity, up to 64GB of internal storage and a 12-megapixel rear camera.

i chose the galaxy nexus because it was relatively cheap.
the entire phone is compromised by the AWFUL speaker.
it basically destroys the ability of the phone to be a portable media player - and wearing headphones in bed isn't desirable.
it totally sucks.
as a result, im now waiting to buy the next google phone, and waste yet more money...just because of the speaker.
i'd be willing to pay some electronics wizkid £50 to do some sort of speaker mod for the galaxy nexus. I bet it'd prove very popular.
