Hi guys, I've been trawling the forum for ages trying to find something for poker players out there. Basically I use Skypoker and since the upgraded flash player I can now actually see the table and play with mobile internet view turned off but it still doesn't respond 100% when I press the screen to click on 'raise, check, fold etc'. Is there any way of getting this to work at all?
Also when viewing videos on sites I can't always use the scroll bar thing to go forward or backward through the video. Is there a media player that would pick up the videos so I could have full control?
I'm not holding out much hope for positive responses here.
Cheers
ED

Is it possible to watch videos from youtube website in HTC Touch?
Pls advise and Thanks in advance.

Thanks, dude.
Errr... I'm new to pocket pc. Can anyone help me on the installation? I'm holding a HTC Touch.
Thanks in advance.
the device type should not matter
since i never tried doing it myself i cant help
other then sugest you read the thread
You should be able to just install the two files in the thread, and then go to a site like ytpocket.com and stream away. One word of warning though is that your chances of streaming over EDGE are close to 0, it's just not fast enough to do audio/video well.
Why don't you just browse to http://m.youtube.com/ in IE?
Because that has a very limited selection of videos, and none of the really funny ones we've all come to love and enjoy in the Iraq where we don't have maps/
Try mV
You might want to try Avot mV - where you can watch all YouTube, Google videos, dailymotion and millions of other web videos..
Go to http://avotmv.com from your pocket internet explorer on mobile phone
Happy video watching
I am having trouble mapping the t-zone key to do something other than take me to t-zone, for example I would like for it to open iexplorer. I tried using info from a threads I search with no luck. Also, I have me trying to view youtube and have used several apps from various threads such as Youtube player, kinomaplayer, 10live, and tmpcp player. Each time I either get file now support or a file error. I am using php registry and was able to change volume slider to use it to scroll. Phone is using WM6.

Strange, I have wm6 on one of my Dash/Excalibur and I'm watching YouTube Videos with my TCPMP player, KinomaFreePlayer{The Best} and the new RTSP video player. It works like a charm with YouTube. Now it's mighty strange that it will not work like a charm on your mobile device, by the way, the YOUTUBE player is for pocketPC devices ONLY, it tells you that in the thread.............!
I cant find a place where I can download rtsp player. The one I download is just a play.dmg.
I Will Help You!

How come I get error when trying to open a youtube video using KinomaFreePlayer, also does anyone have the full version of this player where I can view more videos then just ten of them.
I have dl/ed Soul Player and Mvideo player to attempt to watch some of my movies, the movies play just fine in WinMo. I notice the movies (those that will load) will just do nothing, they do not give an error that the file can not play but they also do not play at all However the time does countdown on the file as though it is playing the file (like it will say 5 seconds into the movie). If I move the scroll bar the screen will show that particular frame then be stuck on that frame.
am i missing something, there doesn't appear to be a stock movie player with android.
this affects multiple movies btw and the quality is fine in winmo..
There isn't a 'stock' movie player that I know of.
This is expected behavior (if you will). The codecs in Android do not make full use of the hardware for whatever reason - hyc has pushed the libs a little farther than they are capable of currently, but he was never able to match WinMo... We're still missing something on the Android side of things.
HQ YouTube has this same issue - seems videos above a certain resolution do not play nice. I'll have to do some searching to find hyc's posts on this topic, something you should've already done...
I got a large number of hits on it when I searched the issue but nothing providing an explanation similar to what you have stated, I suppose I will just continue viewing videos in winmo then.
Thanks for the assistance!

Found hyc's post after a couple minutes of searching.
Searching and reading isn't easy or simple, I don't pretend that it is. Just an essential part of working with any open source project.

That post basically summarizes the conundrum we have with video playback in Android.
Hi all, first question. I have switch from iphone and the Xperia Play is my first venture in to Android territory. One of the main things I liked to use my iphone for was watching web videos on Chinese sites like pptv.com, tudou.com, etc...
I am living in China and youtube is blocked here, otherwise I would use it for that too.
Anyways, I have noticed that watching videos using flash on these sites kinda stinks, there are flash ads in the way of the video, the buttons are extremely tiny, so going into full screen is a hassle, and to top it off the quality of the picture is choppier and jaggy.
On the iphone I just push the Play icon and a nice looking video pops up, full screen with simple controls and buttons that are big enough for my thumb.
I have tried using Boat Browser and Dolphin HD, and disabling flash, to see if the HTML5 version of the video will load instead, and have a more mobile friendly video experience, but when trying to load the video I either get a notification to install flash, or a "This video cannot be played" message.
Are there any apps or browsers that give a more iphone-like web video streaming experience on a Xperia Play?
oh if you need to know I have a stock (not rooted) Xperia Play R800i running Android 2.3.4, Kernal Version 2.6.32.9-perf build number 4.0.2.A.0.42
To go full screen just press the flash video for a couple of seconds. As for the tiny buttons, you'll have to get used to that :/
That's it?
Darn it. Just have to deal with flash, eh?
Although I enjoy all the things I can do with my new phone, it's kind of a bummer that I cannot tweak it to have that nice web video experience I had with my iPhone.

That browser is interestingly different, to say the least. And sometimes it even skips those annoying ads that go with the flash videos on the sites I frequent. But it is a little buggy, and not really the iPhone-like experience I was hoping for.
IPhone integrates QuickTime media player with the browser to play video from these sites, correct?
I don't suppose there are combination of browser, media player and codecs I can use for a similar experience, is there?

The other day this lady at work said "I don't think you should be doing that on office time". I had YouTube on just for the music. I wasn't watching videos. She said, "But I can't even hear it" and I said "I have it low enough that only I can hear it at my desk."
Is there something that I can play YouTube and turn the screen off with it still playing?
I have no interest in using Spotify or other software. I also don't have any interest in taking up my 32GB of memory with mp3's.
I use a app called Viral Youtube Pro worked amazing and you can watch videos while browsing as well works flawlessly !

PVstar works great for this

Thanks! PVStar is awesome so far. You can queue up multiple videos. I'd much rather pay $2.46 for something than $9.99 a month. I realize I'm probably supporting music artists the Spotify way, but if I really like music I buy it to begin with.
You guys are great!

Why not setup a media server like Madsonic? Everything is free and you can stream your MP3 collection along with setting up Podcast streams.

What did you have to pay $2.46 for hasn't cost me anything it's free?
Also if you select music mode in settings you can save your band with.
Maybe Plex does the same thing? I have the paid version. It was 99 cents over on Amazon, but I don't use it. Initially I just wanted something to browse my PC from my phone because I had issues with ES File Explorer, but I solved them. Anyway I'm not gonna use Plex.
Why did PVStar cost $2.46? I bought the Pro version.. no advertisements and I support developers if I like something. I've bought a bunch of apps, including supporting ViperOne ROM and the guy who made the Firewater S-OFF for the M8.
Another nice feature is I think the software spoofs YouTube into thinking I am on a fullsize PC! Before videos searches on my PC and my phone would differ. Not so anymore! When I used to search at home I'd get a full concert. When I searched on my phone I'd get a list of 6 or 7 separate videos that make up the full concert. Not anymore. I can just queue up the one video.
