I saw in the app list that Zeam launcher is missing. It's a shame because for the little Hero, this lightweight Home is good to have by.
And you definitly should add a choice for the kernels.

just a little unsure on the coding for it.

But it seems there is a limit to upload own apps as zip package!
With 4 apps now problem,but If I try to upload 5 apps as zip package
I got "Error 1" and can`t download the cooked ROM.
P.S.Can`t test the ROM now,I have to go to work

Could you say what apps you are trying.

The long awaited Crossbow ROM for HTC Universal. Feel free to make any suggestions. I havent uploaded it to the server so that it doesnt overload. I have uploaded the files to rapidshare. I have broken them into 4 parts and the files are heavily compressed before extraction for security purposes. Its in .rar format.
I have released it before windows vista could market. This is my form of rebellion against "you know who". This is a release by trsh and the dark side (for all of you that know it).
Oh yes and thanks to everyone who contributed. You know who you are.

I dont know if there are any more bugs but you guys figure it out and post around... i think this is the latest crossbow ROM... i enjoyed it a lot and now its your turn to enjoy it. I havent tried the other ROM's but from what i see people are having a lot of problems with other ROM's.. this is truly something that i would keep on my device.
And yea this wont brick/break/hammer/murder your device

I have tried it and its a stable release, its much faster than WM5 AKU 3.5 Releases. A lot of free space and mem for all people looking for it. Extended ROM is already unlocked. I dont know if this is the same as the other crossbow ROM release because i never checked. All i know that it is stable and working, there is only 1 problem that i noticed that Infidel has already addressed!~

Ok i dont know whats the difference because i havent tried both. but you should see the difference yourself because this ROM should be more stable and shouldnt brick your device.
As for the parts i have released i am sincerely sorry about it to all the dark side supporters. I will reupload it in one part.

Hello again all,
I have been playing around with the Manilla2D interface for a while and i have decided to release it.
I have redone the whole ROM. It is based on the 20759 from PDACorner27.
As with all of the M2D roms, there is extreme lack in ram and storage... but i have done the best i can to get the most.
Rom is running smoothly and i have had NO issues.
Credits to Anryl, JoshKoss, Zocster, A_C, Mbarvarian and everyone else around these forums.
Screenshot is from previous version but is still pretty close so im not gonna change it.

Problems:
Weather widget isnt working, unsure if its isolated problem

I have taken the advise of others and took the easy way out. (Not easy, pain in the ass really)
Finally it is working 100%.
It is a whole new setup with less applications.

but I have same problems...
1. I can't input SIM-code because... there aren't any visible digits (there is only blank screen and inscription: "The SIM card is missing. You can still make..."
2. Camera doesn't work... I can't switch it on (there is a problem with certificates)
3. Flash light doesn't work. When I set up this function for button "(record)" it only flashes for a second or less.
4. This cursor makes me really angry.
5. That 2 additional games are needless (Free Cell and Hearts)
I've same sugesstion... You could take PDACorner ROM (v25 or v26) and make that your modification on it. I think that Roms are fast and stable but in Your ROM there is some problem with SPEED. It could be the best "mix" of
apperance and function.

Hi Mick, that looks like a great manilla2d rom, but I believe manilla2d is a dead end for hermes. I tried a few manilla roms and installed on a few naked roms and in all cases it leaves very few memory. opera doesn't properly work, youtube doesn't work etc. I hope you try a non-manilla experience in your next rom.

This is giving me the absolute ****s... i have seriously flashed my device over 100 times today. I have bricked it 6 times and i am still not able to get a workable rom.
For some reason it is corrupting the camera, dialer and comm manager.
I have tried all builds and i have also downloaded others kitchens but again i get these errors. Im over cooking for the moment...
Sorry to those that were expecting more, it isnt happening at the moment.

in the sdconfig folder, 5.cab is the font file.

RGU in oemdrivers may contain old comm manager settings..

Ok, after having my cry about being useless, i gave it another go...
I have done a completely new rom based on the 20759 build from PDACorner 27. It is working flawlessly.
This is a 3G version and contains only some of the apps of the previous useless version which ill call the business edition.
The ROM is uploading at the moment called 20759.MS3G.rar in the ROMS folder. Give it 15 mins.
Im off to the pub.

Yeah, can you let us know as soon as uploaded, I'll try it out. Wonder if this will have the vga issues I have with any of the 6.5 Beta Rom's, specifically when I launch my CoPilot Live GPS Software I get a black screen and have to keep pushing end call to get back to today and kill the app. Works fine on all the normal roms though.

Seems alot slower than even the first original ROM i used that came with Diamond..
Some Apps/Setting show a white screen and doesnt do anything
New album is a very nice idea (works like Iphone album art) but either way to sensative or very buggy
Camera doesnt work..
Reflashing with an older WIN 6.1 ROM (dont have time for beta testing was hoping it was gonna be bug free )

LOL didnt even try and play any audio gave up after 4 min of playing with it.. he might have messed it when he cooked it.. wouldnt of thought 6.5 beta would be that buggy

Update: it came of the repairs, now it wont even start, before it was starting, so its officially dead. so i bought blackstone 3 days back.

only thing i forgot to add was live messenger otherthan that everything i can think of that I usually wants in a ROM is there. newer version of Youtube with settings call recorder.. etc. perhaps the best keyboard, sip menu have to be change manually, its not avaialble with keyboard.

What programs are included, How many RAM available etc...
look at screenshot its the memory usage after 10 mins of usage including video and browsing. it hovers round 72 mb to 80mb . after boot usually round 67 to 72mb used.

u need to install seperate dialer for that.

Oke, perfect, this is the only rom close to stock rom with WM 6.5 and sens2.1 that works how it should be.
Keep up the good work.
Did see some double icons in windows setting, but no problem, Allmost the perfect Rom for the Diamond till now

ram usage is better then ver 1.
only issue i still have to fix is when playing video have to close album manually after video stops.

To be honest, as nice as it is to see gingerbread running as a proof of concept, I am not sure anyone will bother completing the port.
Don't take this as an attack on the devs, who have done a miraculous job of keeping the Hero relevant in a world of 3.7"+ screens and 1GHz processors. The Hero is just getting too long in the tooth now, and the hardware was very quickly outdated. Most of the people who bought one when it came out will be nearing the end of their contracts (mine is up next March) and I can't see it surviving as long as the G1 did simply because the hardware didn't rely on locked down proprietary drivers like the Hero does.
It was quickly ignored by HTC and superseded by devices of the Nexus spec, and I can't see it being able to cope much longer. It would be a really nice swan song for it to get 2.3 though, nice way to draw a line under it development. I hope someone proves me wrong and there are still talented devs with Hero's as daily devices, but as far as I can tell most of them (if not all) have moved on to bigger and better devices, and who can blame them?
EDIT: I will look at using the framework-res to create a theme for our hero's so we can at least pretend we have Gingerbread
im pretty damn positive someone WILL make a decent port of Gingerbread.

I am too lazy to sign the zip file. please sign it before you flash it.in other way you can use ClockWorkMod recovery to flash this pacakge .ClockworkMod Recovery will not verify the signature.
If someone upload the file, I will sign it. I can't seem to sign up to the forum so I can't download it.
EDIT: OK so I got signed up, where is the download link?

I've downloaded it, signed it and flashed it and it works, I am uploading to rapidshare now
EDIT: I wouldn't get too excited about it, not only does nothing work (not even USB so I can't sideload anything), but it is laggy as hell. I will try and rip the resources from it though

Blimey! Nice to see that it even runs! (I'm guessing its 3.0 not 2.3 which is going to have super stringent hardware requirements)
I do agree with l0st.prophet though. I bought my Hero sim free and I've made a deal with myself and my bank account that I won't upgrade until it's totally obselete. With 2.2 and Google decentralising updates to the OS the Hero should last a bit longer (Hopefully long enough for me to finish my degree and get a job!)
I would love a 2.3 theme though as the look and feel of the new OS is just more pleasent.

I just broke my Desire, so i have to wait for my insurance company to send me a new one so i can start testing early alpha/beta ROMs on my old Hero
Will test this one for sure when i have it. probably within the next two weeks.
