Hello again all,
I have been playing around with the Manilla2D interface for a while and i have decided to release it.
I have redone the whole ROM. It is based on the 20759 from PDACorner27.
As with all of the M2D roms, there is extreme lack in ram and storage... but i have done the best i can to get the most.
Rom is running smoothly and i have had NO issues.
Credits to Anryl, JoshKoss, Zocster, A_C, Mbarvarian and everyone else around these forums.
Screenshot is from previous version but is still pretty close so im not gonna change it.

Problems:

I have taken the advise of others and took the easy way out. (Not easy, pain in the ass really)
Finally it is working 100%.
It is a whole new setup with less applications.

Thank You for your ROM... Manilla2D looks really GREAT!!! THIS FONT OS BEAUTYFULL and I'M LUCKY BECAUSE OF THIS COLORS (ONLY BALCK AND WHITE LOOKS VERY WELL)
but I have same problems...
1. I can't input SIM-code because... there aren't any visible digits (there is only blank screen and inscription: "The SIM card is missing. You can still make..."
2. Camera doesn't work... I can't switch it on (there is a problem with certificates)
3. Flash light doesn't work. When I set up this function for button "(record)" it only flashes for a second or less.
4. This cursor makes me really angry.
5. That 2 additional games are needless (Free Cell and Hearts)
I've same sugesstion... You could take PDACorner ROM (v25 or v26) and make that your modification on it. I think that Roms are fast and stable but in Your ROM there is some problem with SPEED. It could be the best "mix" of
apperance and function.

Hi Mick, that looks like a great manilla2d rom, but I believe manilla2d is a dead end for hermes. I tried a few manilla roms and installed on a few naked roms and in all cases it leaves very few memory. opera doesn't properly work, youtube doesn't work etc. I hope you try a non-manilla experience in your next rom.

This is giving me the absolute ****s... i have seriously flashed my device over 100 times today. I have bricked it 6 times and i am still not able to get a workable rom.
For some reason it is corrupting the camera, dialer and comm manager.
I have tried all builds and i have also downloaded others kitchens but again i get these errors. Im over cooking for the moment...
Sorry to those that were expecting more, it isnt happening at the moment.

in the sdconfig folder, 5.cab is the font file.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426264 will show you how to edit the start icon.

RGU in oemdrivers may contain old comm manager settings..
Take a break dude!! it's the best thing to do..

Ok, after having my cry about being useless, i gave it another go...
I have done a completely new rom based on the 20759 build from PDACorner 27. It is working flawlessly.
This is a 3G version and contains only some of the apps of the previous useless version which ill call the business edition.
The ROM is uploading at the moment called 20759.MS3G.rar in the ROMS folder. Give it 15 mins.
Im off to the pub.

agree'd, seems a bit on the rough side..
Sorry, I did not mean to offend anyone, ofc we had many great ROMs, many people liked those. But myself I simply never felt the rush in my device as in the time when it was running on Kozhura's WM6.0 ROM
well this is quite a pickle..
all i see after flashing the rom w/ the included tools
is this. i've got to try a few things still, but if anyone has any idea's let me know. i've tired soft reset, hard reset (clear all data in memory", remove the battery for 5 mins w/ a soft reset.

Any reason you have gone back to the large (130M) nbf format? (Is this to do with the FAT32 partition initialisation?)

working on using modpp to reduce the pagepool from 4.5mb to 4.0mb and reflash the rom to my hx4700 using the bootloader app.

I'm not totally sure, but I think those keys are needed for sending files via Infrared (in the File Explorer context menu).
nope still not working. wondering if the rom was cooked for a 128MB upgraded hx4700 and i'm using a 64MB hx4700?
I can't get it to work either. In the meantime Kozhura has edited his first post to indicate that the new version is coming soon (the download link is removed). So, we'll just have to wait a bit more for this one.

i'd like to think of myself as a tester, adding to the gathered knowledge of what will and won't work with the devices.. i could almost be certain when i say that it's highly possible that some of the reasons behind the problems that people run into cooking these roms is that the hardware in the hx4700 might not all be the same. IE from different manufactures, different revisions, etc.. and thats causing some of the issues that we're seeing.. as some of us don't run upgraded hx4700 and some of us do as well as some of us owning earlier and later revisions of the hx4700.
makes it difficult for the people cooking the roms.
i've got faith in kozhura and andy their previous roms speak for their talent.
hopefully they'll keep putting out releases so we can test them and add to the information thats out there..

Now the new Keyboard is included without the arrows! It has a little bug with the number pad (the one you can access from normal QWERTZ mode) but this will be solved with the next Manila2 bugfix!

using alphazeros aztor x2 ultimate rom
There seems to be a bug with the time zones and daylight saving time.
Everytime I chose a city it is one hour off.
If I choose Europe/Berlin in clock settings I'm getting western Africa time.
Anyone else got this problem?

Camera issue

congratulation to this greate quick and stable rom. Maybe I found a little bug.
Can anybody agree a problem with the camera function. When I start the camera mode, I didn't see a liveview of the camera. After a shot a picture, I'm getting the picture I shot. This issue is independent of the mode (camera, video, mms,...)
@asticinzano: My worldtime function is ok. I had an offset of 1h to my local time. After I adjust this offset, other citys are ok then. I don't know, why there was an offset for the localtime and a different timezone (westafrica) was selected. Maybe the reason is, that activeSync is synchronising the choosen timesetting with the pc time. If a wrong timezone is selected (like westafrica), the localtime will be shifted around the (wrong) choosen timezone. Whatever, I correct the time for the localzone and then everything was ok.

i need a tip....with ervius's kitchen do you need to have a specific folder to put your base rom xip and sys or you can put it anywhere and aim it when you run the kitchen...

I didn't just put the base rom xip/sys, I dumped a ROM. Check the Artemis Wiki for ROMS which you can dump. Once you dump the ROM the Visual kitchen will automatically make a kitchen folder for you
alright that is for the base rom....but you need something that makes the build 21054 and that is probably the os...
and what do you do with sys and xip that you can find in the general upgrading forums ...which is presented as the 21054
and you did the dump with the visual kitchen....i did dumps with hypercore kitchen but wasn't able to do the packaging...so please

It is preferable not to use multiple kitchens

try recooking it....the one we cooked could be turned off....
umm are we talking about screen off or sleep mode....or turn power off when you hold power button for 5 seconds

Yeah I'm trying to figure out what could be the problem. It happens with some of Sheen's ROMs as well. A tweak is to use psShutXP. But I don't know how to make it the default shutdown app. Anybody knows how to do this? Help would be appreciated.

I think its a problem with the base ROM itself. What happens is if I hold the power button for 5 seconds, the popup asks me if I want to shut the PPC off. I say yes, but it just goes into standby.

I'll give it a go later maybe, I cooked a 23034 build ROOM, but it is too buggy and slow. I don't know advanced registry tweaks to make it better . Right now I'm working on a manilla ROM.

As a reward for all of you for your tests of my ROM (over five thousand downloads ) I'm releasing the full kitchen for you to try out.
This kitchen is based on PlatformRebuilder from bepe and new interface from ervius. It incorporates the native AKU5 kernel, which has leaked from HTC's laboratories.
It's for smart guys - if you can't do anything with it, just flash one of the available ROMs. If you have some smart questions - don't hesitate to ask, but don't post generic questions about cooking! It's not the right topic for such questions...
I have one good advice for all of you:
as my ROMs a heavily modified, use "Load ROM" option and start from one of the predefined sets, don't start from the scratch! Later, when you get familiarized with my ideas of cooking - go on.
The same goes for adding new builds - DON'T do this at the beginning! There're 23017 and 23052 builds included, so you don't have to - and by just adding a new one you will most probably screw your ROM up!

Where will I find the ROM once it's cooked?
I'd also like to include my copy of SPB Mobile Shell,it's in cab form.
Will I need to convert it and where would I put it?

I found the cab2oem
Once I do this to my SPB do I put it here...OEM\HERMES\COMMON ?
What about that error?
I only 'loaded' your ROM,clicked 'create ROM' and got that error.
I changed nothing at all.
There is a folder cecompr_LZX.dll but no file.
If I untick LZX compression I still get errors
I'm using WindowsXPx64 does this matter?

you have it in "Program Files", and it does contain a space, right? Move it somewhere else, like ie. "c:\cooking\kitchen" or something like this.

Nope,still same error
c:\cooking
cecompr_nt_LZX.dll is missing and all I can do is cancel build.

I downloaded again and it seems fine now ?
I cab2oem'd my SPB and placed the folder in "C:\Hermes.DarkVisions.v5.KITCHEN\OEM\HERMES\COMMON".
I then created my 1st ROM
SPB is in there but not 'active'.
I think maybe I should have placed somewhere else?

Can't remember, but isn't SpbHome being run from the StartUp folder? If so then make sure you have a proper initflashfiles.txt in your package. Check also the *.lnk file - if it leads to the \Windows\MobileShell.exe.
And as for the placement... while it's ok to put it there, all the additional and optional packages should be rather put in EXT folder (but beware, it has different structure!), because you can't deselect those from the OEM folder.
I tried so many times the spb mobile shell into oem or into ext and nothing... it dont works... simply this cab is one of those cabs that cant be set as EXT or OEM by a tool....
But maybe you can make it manually... ameet or -G- has wonderfull tutorials for this topic.
If I will have some spare time, I can do it for you... but don't know, when.

Update: it came of the repairs, now it wont even start, before it was starting, so its officially dead. so i bought blackstone 3 days back.

only thing i forgot to add was live messenger otherthan that everything i can think of that I usually wants in a ROM is there. newer version of Youtube with settings call recorder.. etc. perhaps the best keyboard, sip menu have to be change manually, its not avaialble with keyboard.

uhm some more informations would be better..
What programs are included, How many RAM available etc...
look at screenshot its the memory usage after 10 mins of usage including video and browsing. it hovers round 72 mb to 80mb . after boot usually round 67 to 72mb used.

i really love these stock-liked roms, i'm going to try this right now, hope it would have good performance and not heavily tweaked

u need to install seperate dialer for that.

Used this Rom for one day now, no bugs found yet, good responsive, only one thing, memory use could a little bit lower

Oke, perfect, this is the only rom close to stock rom with WM 6.5 and sens2.1 that works how it should be.
Keep up the good work.
Did see some double icons in windows setting, but no problem, Allmost the perfect Rom for the Diamond till now

Try MTTY before flashing and hard reset after flashing.

new version 1.5 will be up in 2 Hrs if i dont get any network issues, having bunch of them... otherwise will up tommorow morning.
ram usage is better then ver 1.
only issue i still have to fix is when playing video have to close album manually after video stops.
