I've rooted before but this will be my first time using ROMs. I've already flashed to one ROM but curious to try others. Do I have to wipe and flash to another ROM, etc? Or is there a way to have multiple ROMs?
Try bootmanager it let's you boot multiple roms.
It says ICS is having issues with it :-(
Only one way to find out! It is the only one I know of dude.
You can always make a backup of your current rom ans restore it after trying another

Go into ROM Manager and make a nand backup of your Rom before flashing. Depending on which ROM you are moving to it is a good idea to then copy the rommanager/backup folder off to your PC before wiping then you can copy it back if needed.
i just backed up my apps and everything with Titanium Backup.
i am installing the CyanogenMod Nightlies Custom ROM from the ROM Manager
do i go ahead with the instalation and after I have my new rom and reboot the phone i will have all my apps?
If its a full data wipe then you have to restore the apps. If your upgrading from a previous nightly then they should be there using cache/dalvick wipe.

I had the same issue when I first unbricked my nitro. I did find the solution on xda but now cannot remember where. Basically I had to pull my mSD card put it in a mSD to SD adapter install it on my laptop, backup it up (very important) format with fat32 put it back in my phone. Boot into recovery, partition and format the card with CMW and then restored my backup. It then worked. I think it has something to do with the way LG formats the card and the CMW bootloader...just a guess though.
Edit: found the post... hope this helps

Hello
I want a nandroid backup of stock rom because I have installed custom rom and want revert back
to stock rom I have made a backup of stock rom before installing custom rom but when I restore it the
restore completes but the phone stucks at boot Samsung galaxy y young............... I didn't want to restore through odin
so plzzzzz plzzzzz, someone plz provide me the nandroid backup of stock rom
I have one but without kernel

A nandroid backup includes users application with data,
That's why I think noones going to share a Nandroid, why you don't want to flash through ODIN
Use ODIN, it's a better way than nandroid backup....u might get stuck at logo in the new backup too, but ODIN's always safe....
Code:
System.out.println("Sent from my SGY");
This is what you want, btw its an asian firmware, you may need to change csc after flashing if you are not from asia:

can anyone tell me that why i stucks at logo after restoring the backup and i wanna tell 1 more thing that the 1st time i restored the backup it restored without any difficulty but at second time it stucks at logo why it is so......
Make sure you are on stock kernel before restoring the backup

here it is bro..
go to stock recovery then wipe data/cache, then apply update from sdcard choose your cwm then inside cwm wipe data/cache again, then backup/restore then restore... dont reboot, select advance then choose reboot recovery.. then apply update from sdcard choose cwm, install zip from sdcard, choose zip, find your stock kernel.zip then install.. after install, reboot system, done..
The previous custom rom.you installed probably installed a custom kernel that requires 99complete in init.d folder to bootand obviously that file doesnt exist in stock rom bro

It's because the custom ROM would have been on a different kernel, so when revert back to the default one, it gets stuck. I'm not exactly sure though.

Ok so I downloaded the Beanstalk ROM, after using Intergalactic for a while. I wiped and formatted in TWRP - my issue is that I can't get my PC to recognize my phone now, so I can't just copy and paste the ROM to my root folder. I could only get it onto my Mirco SD card. I tried installing the rom from that but it kept failing. I thought it might be that it wasn't on the root folder, but when I moved it there it still didn't work.
Is there some way to back-to-stock my phone through Odin? Or does anyone know a workaround for installing this rom? Wondering if I need to install CWM recovery or something...
thats a 4.4 ROM right? the latest CWM should be able to do it. TWRP doesnt work with 4.4 yet afaik.
