Titanium Backup and Custom RoM question - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i just backed up my apps and everything with Titanium Backup.
i am installing the CyanogenMod Nightlies Custom ROM from the ROM Manager
do i go ahead with the instalation and after I have my new rom and reboot the phone i will have all my apps?

If its a full data wipe then you have to restore the apps. If your upgrading from a previous nightly then they should be there using cache/dalvick wipe.

Titanium has an option to restore back to original location. I have not tried it but I think that's what youre asking.

[Q] For soe reason cyanogenmod reboots when trying to install apps

Help! I was using a sense rom then I did a factory restore, and wiped cache and davlik, then I flashed cyanogenmod 6.1.1 and gapps then I tried to restore my apps using titanium backup but every time I try to install anything either by installing manually, the market or titanium the phone goes black then the boot animation pops up and it restarts. What do i do? Or what did I do wrong?

Simply don't use titanium backup to restore your apps. Dl from market then use a file manager to back them up.
Note cyn will back up all apps on Google server so the next time the market will restore them all

Changing ROMS

Is it easy to go from cm7 nightly #12 to GV 1.5? do I just wipe and then install CV?

Yes if your fully s-off and have the clockwork recovery all you need is rom manager if you really want to make it easy for yourself. just click on the rom you want to install and hit wipe data wipe and cache wipe and it will install for you and just let it flash its thing and you'll be on the new rom in minutes.

No need to wipe and reinstall. Just do a backup of the ROM you're on and the other ROM (aka you only have to set them up once), then switch back and forth with ROM manager. As the previous poster stated, just go to ROM manager, hit "Manage and Restore Backups" and select which you want, then your phone will boot into recovery, change ROMs, and reboot. Don't make the mistake of thinking you need to completely reinstall and setup everything over and over again. Just keep the ROMs backed up and you'll have a pain free switch.
Now that sounds cool and easy

[Q]Sticks on bootscreen after restoring backup

hi,
a few days ago I installed Chobits digitalis v2. I made a back-up with cwm. But, I wanted to go back to the stock rom, so I restored the backup, but it sticks on the first boot screen(see attachment)
Then I installed chobits digitalis again and it worked. But how can i get my backup or the stock rom back without losing my data?
Thank you!
Always Make data/cache wipe before restoring a backup.
Backup your apps with Titanium Backup so you can restore them in other ROMs.
When restoring to stock ROM, if you get a bootloop then enter recovery mode, wipe data/cache and reboot.
Press 'Thanks' if I helped!

I made a data/cache wipe, but it didnt work. But actually i want the data from my backup back..

the reason i think is the kernel
you cannot restore the CWM backup because the kernel is different . go back to stock kernel first
Hi,
I still have chobits digitialis v2 and I tried to install the EVO-X2 rom. And, offcourse, I had the problem again. Can somebody tell me step by step what I have to do to install the EVO-X2 rom?
Thanks!
EDIT: Anybody?
Anybody?
You can try to format your system, then wipe data and then install the rom

Best way to update nightlies? Noob question

First off I searched but didnt find it.
Is there a quick and easy way to update nightlies to the newest release.
I am currently using ericwill ROM - CyanogenMod 10 - JB 4.1.1 - UNOFFICIAL.
I have 2012-09-15 and would like to upgrade to 2012-09-18.
Do I need to do a full wipe and flash and then reinstall my apps with titanium backup or is there a simple way given that they are very similar?
also can I restore all the system data as well or is that too risky given that system may have changed a bit?
Thanks in advance.

U can just flash it on top but to get the best results its rly best to whipe... U avoid problems wen u do the whipe.... N as long as ur on the same rom as far as I no n my experience u can restore all system data with no problems but only do that if ur staying with the same rom other then that it's really not recommended... Hope that helps

thanks guys flashed last night worked out well
I did a darkside superwipe
flashed new rom
rebooted and let sit a while 10 mins
flashed gapps
rebooted and let sit 10 mins
rebooted again and did full sytem and apps restore with titanium backup.
one question should I do the darkside cache wipe as well and if so when should that be done?
I think as if it should be done after flashing the rom. if so after the gapps too?

When flashing a nightly you dont have to wipe! You can just add on top of each other!!! But make sure to WIPE DATA if flashing a new ROM.
To build on the first reply, I backup current nightly with trwp. Wipe all, install new nightly, Flash gapps, restore data from last backup. Wipe cache just in case and reboot. Now if on aokp, use aokp backup to restore settings. No tibu needed, all user apps restored with data

If your going to wipe your data, might as well wipe your system.

the aokp backup market app? All the reviews below it say it doesn't work with nightlies or other versions.. they say that the app itself has to be updated for every nightly. At least what i got from it.
