1. How is this an Accessory?
2. No

Overclocking a phone won't increase the wifi speed. Networking components and hardware don't work like that...

if you overclock your computer, does your internet go faster?

No if you overclock while using wifi tether you will only drain your battery quicker

[Q] Widget/application for monitoring network traffic?

I'm just asking:
Is there any widget or application that will show a graph for download/upload whether it is from WIFI or 3G connection?
Have a look at NetCounter.
I used 3G Watchdog, it didn't graph it but would state total usage on the widget.
I use network monitor

CM7 Nightlies and camera/wifi question

I'm running CM7-21 and I have two questions.
1) Is there any resolution with the dark front camera? The back works great.
2) I read that I need to set my wifi to never sleep (or I have to reset the connection). This works great, but won't that kill my battery?
Thanks all

1) Not really. It's a bug that's being worked on.
2) Yes, so only turn on WiFi when you need it
To elaborate on #2. It will only kill your battery if you do not have wifi signal. Wifi takes less battery than 3g so being connected to wifi will use less battery. But if you have wifi on and leave the wifi signal it will keep searching and drain your battery.
Thanks. Hopefully the wifi will start waking up automatically. If I keep it at default, I have to toggle it off than on to work.

WiFi tether help? Looked everywhere, anyone know?

ok, so I have the WiFi tether app and I use it to hook up to my Wii to watch netflix, only problem is, speeds suck! They are always in the 50-60 kB/s range, where if I do a speed test on my phone, it is 100 or better, if i download from the market, it gets close to 200, if i use easy tether pro on my pc its at least 100, even with barnacle its 100 or better, so why this crappy performance? Help? I don't think the Wii can use ad-hoc clients such as barnacle either, how do I speed this up? The speed is there, its just bein unused...

Try using the built in version of WiFi tether

I have used the WiFi hotspot app included in newts incredible 2 3d ROM with the same results, I just don't understand how easy tether pros usb app produces over twice the speed, I can see a slight reduction in speed and responsiveness cause of wireless, but over half? Somethings not right...

3g usually takes more battery than wifi. I personally experienced it.

Agree with you also. At least 2 charge per day.

its normal i think.. when a mobile network is on there are so many applications that auto run on your background and some of them are using mobile network connections and if you leave your mobile network activated it means all the time there are some applications that accessing the network which uses so much of the battery power, meanwhile the wifi connection only uses battery when its scanning(depending on the time interval that you set to scan when your not connected) but if your connected it also uses much power however its not that power consuming as the mobile network.

WiFi automatically turns on when plugging in USB

Why does this happen and is there any way to stop it?

Go to:
Settings/ more settings / mobile networks / CONNECTION OPTIMIZER
then uncheck the box and that will disable the Wifi auto-connection. Hope that helps. I have the same issue the day i got my phone. =)

YES! Thanks, Jeff! I am using Tasker to turn all data connections off at night, but when I plugged it into the USB, it turned WiFi on and I kept getting alerts throughout the night. I understand the principle, but that was annoying.
Good ol sprint doing anything they can to get you to use wifi instead of thier bandwidth

well, wifi uses a lot less battery than 3g and way less than 4g. the optimizer is a good idea, but just works terribly.
