[Q] Restored backup gives com.android.phone error - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I restored my original backup (twice already) from 2 different backups and I get same error-
Process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly
can not use phone at all to call or recieve

I just tried to fix permissions and i get "error occured while attemptng to run privileged comnands"
the backup was made after I rooted phone- I made 2 and both are giving same errors

Do a data wipe, cache and dalvic, then restore backup

i appreciate the advice- i just reinstalled fresh evo rom -- which worked-
then use rom manager to restore my nandroid but i still have same problems
-----
what do i use to do
data wipe
cache wipe ?

Every time I flash AOKP M4...?

Okay, I'm currently running CNA 1.5.5...
-I backed up everything with Titanium Backup and CWM backup. I wiped data, cache, and dalvik cashe.
-I then install the AOKP M4 zip like normal, after that i flash the most recent GAPPS.
-It boots up fine. Once I re-install Titanium Backup I restore all my apps. As usual, it requests to reboot after the restoration is complete.
-I do so, but every freaking time it just boots into a bootloop...
WHY?!?!?!??!?
I hope you aren't using titanium to restore system apps and settings. That will mess up your phone.
Restoring apps and app data is fine though

Not all apps and data, sir.
Just USER APPS.
Run the TB batch operation labeled "Restore User Applications."

[Q] GPlay store?!?! Nandroid Backup!?!??!

1) I'm having a problem with GPlay, when I open it, it says "Error retrieving information from server. [RH-01]"
Is it only me or all are having the same ?
2) Do I have to wipe data & cache before restoring a nandroid backup
?
Thanks very much n advance
try wiping data or restoring it to an older version.
I did cleared its data and uninstalled the updates but the problem still exists [Server error]
The 2nd thing is a question not related to the GPlay store problem.
2) no you don't have to

CWM won't read NANdroid backup after flashing new rom and wiping data/cache/dalvik

I just flashed a new rom and wiped my data, cache & dalvik cache and didn't restore yet because I wanted to try out the ROM first. After trying to restore nandroid backup, it CWM showed a "no files found" message. I checked my sdcard/clockworkmod directory and I still see the backup there but CWM won't read it for some reason. Can someone help?

Click to collapse
Sometimes the backup directory changes with the rom. you have to find the right backup directory and move your backup there.
To understand which is the correct directory just make a backup with cwm (so it will create it).

internal memory help

was running wilco's almost stock rom (nandroid and TB backups located on external SD) and wanted to try lollipop so i flashed liquid smooth 5.01, didnt like it so i went back to wilco's.
now my problem is that "My Files" is working fine(stock file browser) but solid explorer, ASTRO, & Root Browser do not read my internal memory (storage/emulated/0) having issues with gallery(have cleared cache and data), with camera it takes picture and when i open it i can see it for a second then unable to load file error.
when i take a screenshot it says that unable to save as usb device may be in use. not sure what happened.
when flashing new rom i made a titanium backup, and a nandroid using philzs latest release.
wiped data for new rom, wiped cache, wiped dalvik cahe, and formatted system. liquid smooth ran fine just didnt like lollipop. so i went into recovery and did same procedure, but restored. alot of crashed so i cleaned flashed wilcos and restored.
now im having above error.
any suggestons?
well redid entire flash procedure, then completed phone set up, then restored. during restore operation i get the following error "volume not found skipping restore of sd-ext" then says complete. never seen that before.

[Q] Restoring Nandroid backup problem after CyanogenMod

I always get "Unfortunately process X/Y/Z has stopped" (all apps system/user like Google Playstore, EsFile Explorer)
This is the quick scenario:
-Installed fresh Samsung Rom & rooted, I did some custom settings (black wallpaper, sms delivery report etc)
-Installed recovery recovery-clockwork-6.0.5.1-serranoltexx.tar.md5 (as recommended by CyaongenMod / CWM by Arco)
-I did a backup on the external SD card.
(wipe cache, wipe data && clear davlik cache / factory reset and then restoring from backup is working fine,
as the setting like the dark/null wallpaper, sms delivery report are there)
-Installed CyanogenMod 11, then backup from CWM (restoration of backup worked).
-Installed CyagogenMod 12, then backup from CWM (restoration of backup worked).
Now here comes the problem. I wish to restore the Stock-Rom, with my custom settings.
I wipe cache, data, davlik && restore from CWM recovery the STOCK rom with CUSTOM settings,
and when the system starts I get that error will all the system and user apps
"unfortunately google play store has stopped"
How can I backup properly the stock samsung rom with MY Custom setting and,
revert back to them after trying other after market firmware/rom?
Have you flashed the same samsung rom after choosing to revert back? (not sure if I understood you correctly)
If not, try flashing the samsung rom again and then restore the backup.
If you did flash the samsung rom and still have crashes, clear cache after restoring. Other then that, I don't see another way restoring.
Download latest google apps package for kitkat 4.4.x and flash it via recovery after restoring nandroid backup of stock.
This force closes happened to me once when i tried to go back from cm10.2 to stock. I solved it by flashing latest gapps [jellybean @ that time]
If that works for you then you can make a new backup.
