Android default keyboard on HTC Sense ROM - Desire General

I'm using VillianROM 1.0 and I am loving it. But I can't get default keyboard to work, I have pushed LatinImeGoogle.apk and LatinImeTutorial.apk from LeeDroid ROM but it didn't work. I get force close as soon as I try to enable the KB. Any help?

Default keyboard

Hi, i want to make a rom and use the keybord LatinIME as the default, how can i do that?
Thanks.
inside the ROM at /system/app
if it is a Sense ROM then the Sense keyboard will be there and it's called HTC_IME.apk
if it is a non-Sense ROM then the Latin_IME.apk keyboard will be there.
just switch them around
or just flash the LatinIME.apk and make it your default by long-pressing on an input box.

Remove Sense-ui ?

how to fully remove the remove the Sense-ui from the rom?
i just need htc's application.
even i changed to use launcher pro, it sense-ui also running at the background .
delete rosie.apk and all sence widgets from /system/app/ make sure you set launcherpro as your default home before doing this as you may end up with a force close loop on boot otherwise
Well sense is a huge part of the system and framework as well. Why not just flash an aosp Rom from the development section. That way you get completely rid of it.
Search the forum for supervillain, its a great stable rom, has all the HTC apps, no sense UI and launcher pro as default

Sense 3.0 Mms with Sense 2.1 GB ROM

Hi all,
Is it is possible to use just the Sense 3.0 Messaging app in conjunction with a Sense 2.1 GB ROM?
I am using ARHD (latest version) and have modified the 'All in 1' addon pack removing all the 3.0 lockscreen components, so everything works fine, including the new Messaging app, but it won't notify of new messages on the 2.1 lockscreen.
Any ideas?
Hi, have you ever looked in Menu> Options> Privacy, if "Show message in screen lock" is enabled?
I unfortunately can not give you the exact menu descriptions in English, because my language is German.
Hi, yeah have checked and reapplied that option but still no joy. I think I missing some other files, possibly some of the lib files as it doesn't even play any notification tune or vibrate when getting a new message, even though it is set to.
As soon as I push the old 2.1 version back everything is fine again. But it's the 2.1 version
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this working? ...on any ROM.

[request] TW Calculator

Hi! Could someone help me with an update.zip or an installable apk with stock TWcalc? I'm on MIUI and I could install it using nitrality before, but that's not working anymore...
Here is the apk, I tried copying it to system/app but that doesn't work either.
http://nfye.eu/nitrality/apps/TouchWizCalculator.apk
... Someone?
Perhaps this will work, since it's ported to other devices http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=874411
Usually touchwiz apps won't work on miui/cm7 without being ported.
EDIT: works on my HP touchpad (albeit it's really tiny lol, doesn't scale to the bigger screen), so it should work on all devices including your miui rom.

[Q] HTC Sense 5 for the Note 2

Hi, I recently rooted my Note 2 (N7105) and would like to install the new HTC Sense 5 launcher. From the recent Sense 5 ROM for the HTC Droid DNA, I extracted the prism.apk file (the launcher) along with the framework. I set the permissions to rw-r-r; however I cannot get the launcher to work as it keeps force closing. Does anybody know how to fix this?
It isn't just that easy. You will need a lot of files to port. So don't even bother to do it. Many devs have tried but with no success
