Hi all,
Is it is possible to use just the Sense 3.0 Messaging app in conjunction with a Sense 2.1 GB ROM?
I am using ARHD (latest version) and have modified the 'All in 1' addon pack removing all the 3.0 lockscreen components, so everything works fine, including the new Messaging app, but it won't notify of new messages on the 2.1 lockscreen.
Any ideas?
Hi, have you ever looked in Menu> Options> Privacy, if "Show message in screen lock" is enabled?
I unfortunately can not give you the exact menu descriptions in English, because my language is German.
Hi, yeah have checked and reapplied that option but still no joy. I think I missing some other files, possibly some of the lib files as it doesn't even play any notification tune or vibrate when getting a new message, even though it is set to.
As soon as I push the old 2.1 version back everything is fine again. But it's the 2.1 version
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this working? ...on any ROM.

Now, both of these offer insane options (and the new nightly CM6 CMPARTS.apk even has a 5 band system wide EQ). I noticed that in the OpenDesire Changelog it stated that ODParts was 'added'.
If this is the case, is it possible to add either of them to another ROM, such as DeFrost? The thing is that in the CM6 and OpenDesire Settings menu, there is an option to access these settings. There isn't one in Defrost. I extracted the Settings.apk and CMParts.apk from CM6 and pushed them to the /system/app folder and overwrote the Default Settings.apk, but all that happened was that Settings dissapeared from the app draw.
Is it possible to integrate CMParts or ODParts into another rom?
Josh.
Impossible without source modification of the Defrost settings app and the framework.
Thought it was something those lines. Thanks for the reply.
First of all thanks to the guys from miui.us, I used their work as base for my rom. HTC G2 and Desire Z MIUI.us Presents Pure English AOSP MIUI
Also thanks to CyanogenMod and his team!
What is this and why do we need another MIUI Rom here?
This is a MIUI build based on the work from miui.us. I made this because every MIUI Rom I tried has an anoying bug if you select another language then english on the phone. They mix up chinese and english for the system and the installed apps show up in the selected language if they support it.
So if you select german the system will be in chinese/english and the installed apps will be in german if they support it (if not they are in english usualy).
This Rom is always in english (except when you select chinese in settings) and your apps will be in the selected language if they support it.
I added alot more language entries in settings, they won't change the system language (except for chinese) but they will tell your apps the prefered language.
Another thing is that I added the Android keyboard from CyanogenMod since it has support for much more languages then the original MIUI one.
What else? I restored the (almost ) original MIUI bootanimation since it looks alot better , I removed the miui.us forum app and added one ringtone (ring_synth_02 alias Chimey Phone).
So this Rom is a "must have" if you want your apps to be in your native language.
Maybe you would ask "why don't you use the german language pack for miui then?".
Because I don't like the translation, also it breaks the layout in some places. I like the english pack but I want my apps to be in german (also my keyboard).
Download here or in Rom Manager(MIUI for HTC Vision)

Which 2 user buttons are you saying that don't work?
works on mine with a full wipe.Auto brightness is broken?
I flashed it with only wiping cache and davlik. It booted to a force close msg that kept popping up, having to do with android.acore or something like that. Anyways, It wouldnt let me do much cuz whenever I tried to open apps, that force close would stop me. Anyways, im restoring my backup and making a new backup and giving it a try with a full wipe later today. For now, im going to bed. Its almost morning lol

The 2 special buttons on the keyboard. In CM you can map an app to them, that's not possible here. But you can map another button on them (like home, back...).

Works for me, I turned on the light on my desk and the display got brighter.
I tested MIUI a few weeks ago on my Milestone (which I already sold ^^) and liked it, but battery life was horrible. WiFi had some serious problems, too.
Can't make any phone calls.
Hello all,
My names Zu and ive been a long time stalker of this forum but this is the first time ive really decided to post up.
Recently I rooted my phone and flashed MrGarak's MIUI 1.4.29 v.4: Freshly Squeezed edition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970196) onto my phone.
I synced my Google contacts as well as my facebook ones onto my phone.
Before I added the facebook contacts I added my Gfs number which was fine, I could edit her contact on the list etc. All was good.
However after I added the facebook contacts, every time i wish to add a number or edit a contact (facebook ones that is) I get a FC message which tells me that android.process.acore isn't working.
Everything else works perfectly fine.
Is there a way to fix this?

Make sure you are using the most up to date version of the Facebook app. The previous version had a bug causing a lot of force close errors.

Also try a "Fix Permissions" from recovery/ROM Manager.
Does anybody know how to fix dialer bug in ARHD 6.1 - when I open dialer it sets system volume to max. Its very frustrating.
I've tried to copy /system/app/HtcDialer.apk from Android_Revolution_HD_Sense_3.0_All_in_one_5.2.x_v.0.3.zip - but then I got stick with htc logo on booting.
This bug does not appear using Sense ARHD 5.2.9 + HD Sense 3.0 All in one pack.
And other question - still not possible to remove unused homescreens on sense 3.0?
Bug described in Youtube id = qsl-SoohTSY

where did you get ARHD 5.2.9 ????
his last ROM was 5.2.6..............
yeah sorry 5.2.6
I think nobody cares about this bug but me
I also have the same problem.
Yes i have this issue aswell, if i use Quick Settings to lower system volume and then go into dialer, it goes right back to max
Is it perhaps that quick settings does not support the new HTC base?
Hi this must be a noob question, but i need to know how to replace the default dialer .apk file and also the contacts .apk file to something else (exDialer and exContacts) in the ROM itself.
Try extracting the apks from the stock ROM and replace it. Report back.
Sent from a Time Lord, using his TARDIS.
Nope it didn't seem to work!
It said installation failed.
Just follow these steps...there is a chance they might not work but you are free to try it
1.Install the dialer app(dont move it to sd card)
2.Use a file manager app with root permissions enabled(eg- ES File Explorer) and go to the "phone memory" then "data/app" copy the app's apk to the sd card
3.Now uninstall the app ....the install was for getting the apk file
4.Rename the backed up apk as "Phone.apk" (case-sensitive)
5.Backup your CM7 dialer by going into phone memory "system/app"....it will be named "Phone.apk".....back it up somewhere in the SD card
6.Now just take the apk of the dialer you wanted and copy it in phone memory "system/app"
7.Finally change the permissions of the apk as follows
--->In ES File Explorer, after moving your desired dialer's apk, long press for menu
--->Then select Properties
--->In the properties window there will be a button labelled "Change" just beside permissions
--->Then Select the 1st two check boxes in User,1st in group and 1st in other and press ok
8.Reboot the phone and pray to God it works
9.To revert back, just put the original "Phone.apk" in "system/app" and reboot

You're not supposed to remove the default dialler app. It's a part of the system framework and the results when you do try to remove it will be severe. I believe that the phone aspect of Android is integrated into the default dialer apk (Both in sense and in AOSP).
In any case, there is no need to remove the dialler apk.You just install an alternate dialler and set that as default. It's works as if the original dialler was never there.
You cannot bring over the sense dialler though since that depends on the entire sense framework.
Just install exDialer and set it as default.
You can push it to /system/app if you would like. Leave the original one as it though.

As soon as I replace the Phone.apk, it force closes to the homescreen. After I try restarting the device, it refuses to get past the Boot Screen Animation.

So you're saying there is no way I can natively replace the dialer to the exDialer in the Rom itself?
FYI: The Rom concerned here is HCMIUI 3.2 by Henry. Brilliant Rom otherwise!
Exactly, the default dialler cannot be replaced except perhaps by a full replacement say from the original cm7 rom or a themed version of your current dialler. You can only add a secondary dialler which will work in addition to the original one.
Check out the apk for the original Phone.apk
You'll find the components of the in-call screen.
cm7 themes for example retheme the framework which applies some modifications to the original in call screen.

^ How do i do that? Actually this is exactly what i want to do, a full replacement!
You can probably take the Phone.apk and replace your current one with (Make sure you set the permissions to 644) but it really won't make much of a difference. Instead, just install the cm7 Theme Chooser and change your theme. HC MIUI is basically a themed cm7 rom with a MIUI flavor, MIUI apps and stellar animation effects!
Would love to get those on other ROMS!
There's actually a fuller MIUI (gb) but it's only on beta (There are some usability issues in which the colours in some apps are FUBAR) and the MIUI 4 (ics) is only on alpha... On my phone, the Phone crashed on making a calling the MIUI 4...
Well i guess this is not possible the way i thought i would!
maybe someone can make a patch or something that will do this( maybe for other default apps also) just a thought?!
