[Q] a few q's? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
So i've seen and heard a lot about this forum and its my first post here so hello! I've recently bought an htc desire which is locked to the orange network (UK) and i was wondering whether it is possible to change the following things please? :
1) Menu > Photos and there is no link to picasa?! Why? Is it possible to add one please?
2)Same thing with friend stream. Is it possible to add a link to picasa please?
3) Lastly, when some 1 calls you, you get two buttons on the screen. You click on them either to accept or decline. Now instead of tapping on the buttons, is it possible to add a feature which allows you to slide to accept/decline ? (I think this might be a feature from the iphone?).
Thanks!

Sorry if this is a basic question guys. I'm an android noob here!

friend stream only includes facebook and twitter, you cant add anything else, as far as the menu goes unless there is a picasa app on the market no you cant, the desire has the slide to answer feature, you only get it if the screen is off when you receve a call ......

Is this HTC Super Caller ID?

Is the what is referred to as HTC Super Caller ID or a different program?

If this isn't the right one talked about in the Froyo update then can someone point me in the right direction please
Thanks all!
That's not it. Essentially it shows the latest status update from Facebook and the birthday of the person calling. It's a gimmick.
so is this something that is built in to the new 2.2 android update or is it a seperate app that you have to install for this information to be displayed?
It's built into HTC's Sense UI with Froyo, yeah.
Not working on my phone for some reason.

When someone calls you, assuming you've linked their account in your contacts then it should just pop-up.

I'm interested in this as well as I have the same features as 2.1 when receiving a call.

What are you guys going on about? This is an app called super caller id, it has nothing to do with htc, its a 3rd party app that shows the callers address and other info on the dialers incoming call screen, it only works in a handfull of contries atm tho

[Q] Facebook Link Issue

When you link a contact to Facebook, it'll seem to take preference on the Facebook number on the account. Now if the number starts '447xxxxxxxx' when you try and ring it doesn't call and fails as it needs to be '+447xxxxxxx' or '07xxxxxx'. As its ringing the wrong number. This is in the UK by the way so the 44 may be different in othere countries
Example
Mike in my phone has a mobile number of 07123456789. In Facebook it is down as 447123456789. After I sync my contact on my desire to the facebook account the only number is 447123456789 in the Contact. When I try and ring it fails as it needs to dial 07123456789 not 447123456789
Has anyone else had this issue? And has any1 got around it?
Thanks
This is what happens, you have to have the friend in question change their number on their FB account
Having said that, there was a way of changing the default number but it's easier to just have the friend change it online
Thanks 4 that. However that isn't possible as there is a good number of friends like that.
How do u change the default? Do you have any idea? Or does any1 else?
Thanks

The apps are probably fine unless is one of them is a rogue battery eater. Your problem is more likely to be that the battery hasn't correctly calibrated yet. It's common for the battery to be bad when you first get your phone.

how can I resolve this issue how can i close all applications because bluetooth is off but still big sign on left of screen appearing.
When you pull down the notification bar you see a list of recently used apps, but they're not necessarily running.
Bluetooth will only be on if you have a little icon at the top near the wifi / 3G battery icons. If this icon isn't there then it's off (check in settings if you must).
To close all apps hold the power button until you get the power menu and then select "Restart". This will close all apps and restart the phone. You shouldn't really have to do this very often though.
To answer your other question - To remove desktop shortcuts, press and hold the icon until it lets you move it around and then drag in down to the launcher dock where you will see a trash can icon. This doesn't uninstall the app / shortcut, only removes it from that screen
Cheers

Maybe look into the tasker app? Unfortunately it costs money but if I remember correctly it had a trial version so you can check to see

Your friend might have been using a 3rd party app to open the sms. Or he might of just open the keyboard and hit one of the shortcut buttons to open sms
Thank you, my firend will check it later, but it should do
