Hello
I've just upgraded to a new htc one x. And i relly love it.
But it has a huge problem in my opinion. I realy need voice control.
I 've looked on the internet and i saw that jb comes with google voice(the real one, that works like siri). But i only get a writing machine.
My problem is that google now only search on google, and it doesn't answer any questions.
I need a voice assistant that do simple tings like voice control on iphone. Call smbdy, play music, say time(tried aivc & assistant)
Theres any way to install google voice(like on nexus) or s voice, functionaly on a 4.1.1 one x from east eu. I don't want to void quarantee so please no root.
I used the search button but i didn't find anythng helpful.
Thanks advanced

Hi guys,
So i've seen and heard a lot about this forum and its my first post here so hello! I've recently bought an htc desire which is locked to the orange network (UK) and i was wondering whether it is possible to change the following things please? :
1) Menu > Photos and there is no link to picasa?! Why? Is it possible to add one please?
2)Same thing with friend stream. Is it possible to add a link to picasa please?
3) Lastly, when some 1 calls you, you get two buttons on the screen. You click on them either to accept or decline. Now instead of tapping on the buttons, is it possible to add a feature which allows you to slide to accept/decline ? (I think this might be a feature from the iphone?).
Thanks!
Sorry if this is a basic question guys. I'm an android noob here!

friend stream only includes facebook and twitter, you cant add anything else, as far as the menu goes unless there is a picasa app on the market no you cant, the desire has the slide to answer feature, you only get it if the screen is off when you receve a call ......

Hi, i have a HTC Desire unroot and unbranded and fully updated to everything that is possibly out for the device. lately for some odd reason when i use apps such as google map navigation or the new google translate (with the sms translate and convo translate) it has been speaking program codes for the google map navigation and for the google translate, especially the asian dialogs and some other language. Currently have the espeaktt selected for voice output, i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the same problem still consist. I don't know if its cause the apps are still in beta or is it just me. If its just me can anyone help me and tell me how to fix this problem?
Thank you
From what I understand of your post it does sound like its a bug in their app. If the app is reading you system code instead of the proper directions. It is most likely a problem inside the app. You should report the issue to the developer via the appropriate channels.

thanks a lot for the info. I just tried the google maps navigation with another voice engine and it was fine so if I'm not mistaken i think its the espeaktt app.

Yeah you mean voice morphing software good question though as I haven't seen any apps that do this either, well not on the fly in a phone call.

There was an app called "Voice Changer v1.0". I used it a few times. It could morph your voice and spoof the number you are calling from. I think it made the calls over the internet. It was removed from the market shortly after appearing. It had some wierd permissions and gave you ads in your notification bar. I unistalled it because of this but noticed no ill effects afterwards.
Here is a link to appbrain but says it is removed from the market. This may give you something to google if you so wish.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/voice-changer/com.droidmojo.vc
There was another app with the same name from a different developer , "voice changer 3.4" but I never tried it and it was reported to not work. Other than that I don't think there is anything legite out there.
Edit: I just found one on the market called "Voice changer calling". Only first few calls are free. Read the reviews first if you want to check it out.

Is "Speaktoit" app the same? Because when I searched Vlingo there are no resaults for it, it says it's incompatible with HTC Wildfire.
Sorry for late reply, been busy last few days...
Yeah man speaktoit is a similar app... else you can do 1 thing... just google 'similar apps like vlingo' and you'll find many.
Or you can give me your email Id and I'll mail you the APK file of vlingo.

I think that works the same way it does on computers. Depending on your network.
So maybe there's a similar trick to bypass this as you can do with a computer using a proxy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE : Just had a look on Google and didn't find anything related to your specific problem but there are plenty of people having troubles with the market and the non-availability of some apps in their country. Some managed to solve this using a US-based VPN. Maybe you should try that.
Could try a proxy

The MoreLocale 2 app (available in the Play store) does exactly what you're looking for. I needed it to change from US(canada) to US(us) for the Amazon music app.
