For the past few weeks now the application won't stay logged in. I have cleared cache, deleted account and all that with no luck.
It will stay logged in for maybe 30 minutes, but that's about how long I spend on it at once, so does not count.
Any ideas?

Using Peep? What ROM are you using?
No issues here, using official Twitter app
Not using Peep and I am using this ROM. And Twitter for Android is the official Twitter app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773997
I have the same ROM as well, but none of Twitter apps work on my phone. Mobile version of twitter.com works just fine on my Desire. And on laptop, connected to the same WiFi all Twitter apps work fine too.
I have tried rooting, also tried reinstalling the ROM, but it didn't help.
This problem appeared like out of nowhere, I upgraded to Froyo and my Twidroid worked perfectly, but about a week later it couldn't log in, so initially I thought this is some problem with the app and installed another one (Seesmic) that didn't work either. NONE of them work, even the official one.
I've asked HTC, but they can't help me.
Does anyone know what this might be and how to fix it? This is pretty frustrating.
Never had any issues myself (with the official app) so can't comment really...

No matter how I connect via WiFi or 3g, it times out or plain refuses to login to Twitter.
The official app weeks zero issues.

same with the browser too
btw
this is the brand new desire I got last night after carphone warehouse replaced the original after it had a fit of the restarts.
offical twitter app works, tweetdeck on my pc, and via the web on a pc works.
Yes, looks like there is a problem with 3rd party clients...
my deires browser wont work either
Ok, turning off the mobile view option in in settings gets twitter to work
Im choosing to blame twitter atm
mmm, most of the tweets are people blaming twitter for their 3rd party apps not working.
Same problem here, damn annoying!
because there's a problem with xauth/oauth on twitter at the moment
I've got the same problem. Installed Twidroyd PRO yesterday for the first time (and a second time by uninstalling and installing it again) on my one-week-old HTC Desire, but cannot login ever since.
Only official Twitter app seems to work, guess they're doing something.
I've been running a rooted official 2.2 release since, well, it was released and haven't had any problems until a few days ago. Gmail push no longer works at all. Any ideas? What should I try before reflashing? This is a very important feature for me.
I'm having the same problem, I'm running the release by "ieftm" (I think is the name)
It's becoming a big problem because I'm missing emails unless I sync manually.

Anyone else?
Had the same thing happen. Would only synch with a manual refresh.
Went in to settings toggled push/background on and off again.
BOOM. Works again!
I had this problem the other night.
Once I deleted a few apps and made some more space available, it started working.
I tried toggling background sync and deleted a couple of apps. It's now working again.
Thanks everyone
got my sgs today setup everything perfect but Facebook isnt able to log int in the accounts and sync therefor no contact from fb or events in my calendar can anyone advice. Thanks.
Hi there! I had the same problem and the solution i used was to log on using a different network (I know it sounds stupid, but it works). So if you're using you mobile data connection, connect to a wifi connection instead, or if you're already on wifi then connect to another wifi access point. Then try logging in again, it should all work.

ok but what's the logic in it?? i dont get it.
Solution doesnt work on mine with Gingerbread.
With Froyo all was ok.
After updating to gingerbread, facebook stopped to sync. Everything else is working fine (facebook app, launcher pro fb widget). Tryed to flash back to JS8 but still got the same error message: login failed, try again.
Tryed also disable platfom applications from facebook, but this did not work.
would higly appreciate if some on could find a solution for this problem. Right now i am back to gingerbread.
Ive reflashed many times with quite a few ROMs, both 2.2 and 2.3 and no luck. And on top of that Ive messed up my cameras firmware. ..

Btw, contacts were syncing with FB but not calendar. ..

Maybe it's something to do with Facebook itself; I'm having the same problem and changing network connection has no effect.
Same problem with the latest official 2.3 fireware. Apps like flow work fine.

As for the Facebook issue. .. Coincidence that it happened when 2.3 arrived in Kies?

Edit: full fb sync works. Looks like it wasnt a 2.3 issue.
Sam problem here after updating to 2.3.3 .. On froyo it all worked flawless but now can't get it to work, and it annoys me a lot because I like to see my facebook calendar in my phone's calendar it was really handy..
i moved to 2.3.4 and last few days i am having fb sync issue. today fb sync stopped again. i entered pass many times but each time error. after that settings > accounts and removed fb then add again, somehow it worked. strange...
I am confused. in past several months I tried bunch of ROM's and every sigle of them had gmail sending mail issues. Why google? They are same people who made android, and that is why I am expecting their app's to be smooth and better from others. Sometimes after seeing red "sending..." message mail stays for hours in outbox, no metter how many times you sync, refresh or even restart your phone (this happens mostly when replying but not limited to). Am I only one with this problem and why gmail (app) sucks so much?

Gmail version 2.3.4.1 gave me problems with Sense-based roms initially and I ended up reverting back to version 2.3.2, however, I didn't recall having that problem with the stock odexed 3.70 rom. Furthermore, I have no problems with version 2.3.4.1 using an AOSP rom, specifically Salvage-Mod 1.2.1. If you have the time, nandroid backup your current setup, download and flash the rooted stock 3.70 rom from the link below and then test your gmail performance.

This same thing happened to me. Someone on here made the suggestion of going into my application settings and clearing the data, and since then it has worked flawlessly.
Clearing the data worked for me on my EVO.....thanks all
Been using HAxSync for a while, well i noticed it wasnt updating pictures. So i removed the account and readded it. Thus losign all my synced fb contacts and their photos. Now it wont resync them. Im guessing facebook changed something and which is why its not able to pull them down. Anyone know anything about it/ or having the same problem?
Re-install Haxsync, go to settings>apps>haxsync>Clear data. Then try again?
Tried that, same thing
:-\
That's weird. It's working for me.
OH WAIT, I had the same problem 2 days ago. Umm umm, go to accounts&sync>Haxsync>Settings and login again! Keep doing that. I know you've tried but keep doing it 2-3 times.
I know this won't help you, but HaxSync is working fine for me as well...
Oddly enough, the same is happening to me as well. After having it working fine for weeks, Haxsync just up and stopped syncing my contacts yesterday too. Tried uninstalling my 2.29, updated to 2.30 and tried to resync to either a FC or not syncing and telling the system that it was finished in 30 seconds. Odd. Maybe it's a server issue?
Running CM9 on the HTC EVO.
There was and update a while back. The developer said to update at once due to Facebook was changing the way they send their info.

Wait I am having the same problem. I just email the developer. I suggested you all do the same.

Facebook seems to have some kind of issue today, I've been getting tons of reports. I suggest you wait a day or two and try again then. I don't have access to my dev machine until monday, so let's hope Facebook fixes their API. Cheers, Mathias
Its back up.
