[Q] Wifi switching itself off randomly :( - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Yesterday I started having a strange problem with my Desire.
I was browsing the internet at home using wifi and all if a sudden it switched off the wifi.
I turned it back on again and it worked fine again for around 10 minutes when it did it again. I switched wifi back on again, this time around 3 minutes later it switched itself off again.
I have never had this problem before and haven't installed any new programs on the day it started. In wifi settings the sleep mode is set to never.
I rebooted and tried again, but out still happens. I have rebooted my wireless router, again no joy.
In desperation I factory reset, but it still won't keep wifi on for more than a few minutes.
I have a T-mobile uk desire which is stock and un rooted with stock radio too.
I sim unlocked it in march and have a vodafone sim in it
My wireless router its a sky one and is running on channel 13 as no one else locally uses that channel.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Cheers in advance
Zippyioa

Still having this issue
If anyone can help or suggest things to try I would be grateful as I am at a loss now....

[HELP] Evo mobile network issue - stuck at turning on

I searched the forums but only saw similar issues with different phones, not the EVO.
I have a rooted evo (unrevoked non permanent) running 3.29 build. I have not updated with the latest 3.70 build due to fear of losing root. Starting yesterday I am having trouble getting a mobile network connection with 3g. When this happens if I go to wireless and network settings next to mobile network it says "turning on" and it kind of just hangs there. I can sometimes get a connection but usually it cuts back out within 30 seconds. I can however maintain a connection over wireless or 4g. I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue or if it might be related to not accepting the latest update. I have tried multiple battery pulls and reboots and this has not helped.I also tried removing the last few apps I had installed to see if they were possibly interfering somehow and that didn't help either. Does anyone have any ideas? I guess my last step would be to do a factory reset and then if that doesn't work I will have to unroot the phone and take it in for service. I really don't want to do that.
Screenshots with phone info avail at http://www.dtbmw.com/evoscreens
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thank you.
Bump.
Having the same issue, started two days ago. Mobile network goes to "turning on", it finds 3G, it loses 3G, goes to "turning on", finds 3G, loses 3G...ad infinitum. It's absolutely KILLING my battery life. I made one phone call today and played 10 minutes of Angry Birds, and my battery was dead at 2:00 pm (from full charge this morning, unplugged at 8:00 am).
i am haveing the same problem now i had my phone flashed to metro and no net.. stuck in turning on mode.. did u find out how to solve the problem?
I'd like to know too
I am having the same problem, but I just change the password and that was it

desire hd (Revolution) finds router slowly

Hi!
I am experiencing a strange problem with my new DHD. At first when I bought it, it connected to my home wireless router in an instance. Even after flashing the stock rom to Revolution. But in the past few days it takes at least 20-30 seconds to connect to the router when I enable the wifi through widget.
If I enter wifi settings, it connects right away.
Any solution for this?
thanks
EDIT: I flashed LeeDroid 1.5.1 today, and I still have this issue. When I turn on Wifi through a widget, it turns on, but it does not connect to my router, well at least not until a good 30 seconds. But if I go into wifi settings, it shows my router as not in range for a moment, and after that it connects to it right away.
I have already tried to forget and re-set my home network settings, restart phone and router, it did not help.
Anybody experienced anything like this?
Thanks
So really nobody?

[Q] WiFi and GPS stopped working

so i've been playing around with kernels the past couple weeks ive had the phone, and didn't really notice until a day or two ago that my wifi and gps never connect anymore.
When i turn wifi on, the icon comes to the notification bar but then never connects - going into wifi settings shows "obtaining ip address" but it never works.
thought it was a kernel issue so went back to the stock rooted kernel and a few others with no avail. today tried updating the modem and still nothing.
tried on home and office networks, all of which were working just fine a week or two ago, and now i cant connect to anything.
same for gps, i remember when i tried zedomax's very first kernel my gps stopped working but reverting back to stock worked fine.
ideas?

Wifi Problem

Ok. Here we go. have a Sprint M8 that has been flashed to cricket. Everything was fine until I recently changed phone numbers. Now I cant access gmail, chrome, play store and youtube while on wifi. Everything works fine when I turn wifi off. But as soon as I turn it on everything except the browser stops working. Tried clear data and delete wifi network from phone and reconnect but that is not helping. Nor is resetting the router.
Please help. Been spending many hours searching trying to fix this issue.
In desperate need of help. Anyone?

Note 2. Wifi connection problem.

My wifi was working very well. One day suddenly it went off. Initially I thought it was a connection problem, but eventually I discovered that the wifi toggle switch refused to start. It was stuck.
In a bid to correct it I even did a factory reset. But wifi issue remained.
Did everything mentioned in various YouTube videos. But in vain.
Then I installed Cynogenmod but same wifi issue. So went back to 4.3 stock android.
Not satisfied, I flashed kitkat 4.4 . Most of time wifi connection remains. But when I turn it off and then again on. It does not connect.
The only way I can resolve d issue is by switching off the phone, removing the battery 4 a minute and restart. Wifi works until I keep it on. Once I turn it off and turn on back again, it does not connect.
(My router and Internet connection are fine)
Removing battery every time 2 start wifi is nuisance.
Pl advice.
