[Q] Transparent Background Pulldown Non-Fluid Animation issue - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Haha, What a title but I needed to get people that already have their pulldown modified to answer.
I modified my framework for awesome transparent pulldown, however it is a bit jerky when it auto slides down/up. The old (non-transparent) version was buttery smooth. Does anyone else have issues with their pulldown after making it transparent.
This only pertains to FroYo, my 2.1 transparent pull down was butter.
If you do have the little issue (and it is very slight) how did you mod your framework, and what are you running?
Thanks.

I haven't had any issues. I just changed the framework apk to a zip file, replaced the background image for the notification pulldown, and then applied the framework via a zip in rom manager.

Yes but your services.jar was patched to allow for transparency. Do you mind posting it? There is a variable under StatusBarPolicy.smali that was changed. It was actually an opacity variable.
The issue I am talking about is very slight. You can just see the wipe animation stall for a little bit when letting it auto pullup or down.

No issues with transparency on CM. Maybe get with Koush or anyone from CM and see how they went about modifying the framework to allow for transparency.

Help? Notification Bar modifying

Okay I want to make the status bar transparent and the pull down tray as well.
I want something like the transparency the top bar in OSX 10.6. I hate hiding my background and since I'm going for a minimal look, it's awfully distracting.
I tried to make the edits myself in photoshop and went ahead and resigned the .9.png files too. But when I pushed the framework-res.apk file back...only the notification bar had changed. and the pull down bar stayed solid.
Can anyone list for me which files specifically I need to change so I can make the notification bar and pull down tray transparent?
I would go ahead and make the changes myself.
I'm currently on FreshEvo, anyone think it would look better on cm6? or easier?
I found that 85% opacity seemed to work well enough but the black bar on sense was less than ideal, but acceptable. There was a problem with that too, the icons for mail notifications, cell signal, etc had their own black background that showed like black squares, I'd need to know which files to edit for that too.
I'm thinking that the aosp top bar, or if anyone knows of a white/aosp theme for senseroms, would work better.
P.S. The first time I edited my framework-res, I had to re-add all my accounts on the phone? what happened?? lol
All help appreciated

in launcher pro, making the status bar transparent wont matter becuase there needs to be a wallpaper hack i believe, unless you use a live wallpaper, the transparency will show. All the files are in the framework-res.apk that you need to change i believe, aside from the pulldown tray, that is the services.jar. i could post my theme for ya, but it changes everything.
What is your theme? Maybe there's a framework-res in it I could take a peek at to compare your edits.

What do you edit in services.jar? I cant find the reference to it... the pulldown tray, that is, making it transparent.
The bars in your bottom picture are in framework-res/drawable-hdpi/
-status_bar_background.png
-status_bar_header_background.9.png
-statusbar_background.png
-status_bar_close_on.9.png
In that order
You need to edit all of the status bar icons also they have black blocks behind all of them. Like stat_notify_disk_full.png there are some in framework-res and some in com.htc.resources
The white part can only be made transparent with services.jar. I know there are downloads of it on here just do a search for services.jar.
Manup has a bunch for download that make it transparent and remove the clock and stuff.
Here is a guide on how to make your own

Thank you, answered my question fully.
Would I be correct to assume that in cm6, all the status bar icons have white blocks begins them?

Gingerbread notification bar ONLY, is there such a theme?

Is a theme for the SGS that ONLY changes the notification bar and nothing else?

Not possible, the notification bar/status bar gfx are part of the system files. At this stage you cant replace one without replacing the other.
You should read up a bit on how to do this, it's not that hard to do yourself if it's only replacing the graphics (just a matter of copying the relevant pngs from one theme to your own). But changing text colours isn't so easy.

[Q] Remove Clock from CM6 Lockscreen

I was wondering how to remove the clock/date from the lockscreen in CM6 or change it to a widget that I like. I am running MattedBlues Theme with my own personal touches if that matters. I used adb to pull the framework-res.apk. I then extracted that and found keyguard_tab_unlock or something along those lines. But now I have no idea what to do with the xml... Help?
I was just thinking about it now and in CM6 isn't there an option to remove the date/time from the lockscreen? Does that mean that when I installed MattedBlues it changed the framework files so that CM6 can no longer remove the clock/date on its own? Would I be able to pull the framework files for the keyguard from a CM6 standard install, push them into the MattedBlues install, sign it, and then install that theme and be able to use the built-in feature again?
Mattedblues shouldn't prevent you from using any CM settings. If you want to use a widget on the lockscreen you can get widgetlocker in the market. It allows you to customize your lockscreen with widgets and other things. I don't think you can just edit the framework in CM6 to allow that though.

[Ask] Transparent Statusbar

Anyone have transparent statusbar ?
I would love to see that too.
It only looks good on home screen. It horrible wen using apps as it just shows as a black or distorted bar at the top. If u really want it use framework mod here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2196265
With the tweak box plugin to change statusbar transparency without modding apk as its easier to revert back

Opaque notification drawer?

With some ROMs, the notification drawer is transparent or semi-transparent, but I find it much easier to read when it's solid black. I've found tons of apps & posts about how to make it transparent, but not non-transparent. Any thoughts?

Some ROM's let you set any image as the background of the notification and quick settings menus. If so, just pick a color you like, make a JPG of that color, and use it. however most ROM's that let you do that also give you the option of selecting a solid color.

Thanks. Any thoughts if the ROM doesn't have that feature?
Download xblast module or wanam lers you chanfe everything from clock color/size/position and all colors in system ui
??
I'm assuming you don't know about the xposed app? Download xposed off of xda. There is a whole forum and then download the module gravitybox and you can change the color of it. And you don't have to change your rom. It's really simple.
