Opaque notification drawer? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

With some ROMs, the notification drawer is transparent or semi-transparent, but I find it much easier to read when it's solid black. I've found tons of apps & posts about how to make it transparent, but not non-transparent. Any thoughts?

Some ROM's let you set any image as the background of the notification and quick settings menus. If so, just pick a color you like, make a JPG of that color, and use it. however most ROM's that let you do that also give you the option of selecting a solid color.

Thanks. Any thoughts if the ROM doesn't have that feature?

Download xblast module or wanam lers you chanfe everything from clock color/size/position and all colors in system ui
??

I'm assuming you don't know about the xposed app? Download xposed off of xda. There is a whole forum and then download the module gravitybox and you can change the color of it. And you don't have to change your rom. It's really simple.

Help? Notification Bar modifying

Okay I want to make the status bar transparent and the pull down tray as well.
I want something like the transparency the top bar in OSX 10.6. I hate hiding my background and since I'm going for a minimal look, it's awfully distracting.
I tried to make the edits myself in photoshop and went ahead and resigned the .9.png files too. But when I pushed the framework-res.apk file back...only the notification bar had changed. and the pull down bar stayed solid.
Can anyone list for me which files specifically I need to change so I can make the notification bar and pull down tray transparent?
I would go ahead and make the changes myself.
I'm currently on FreshEvo, anyone think it would look better on cm6? or easier?
I found that 85% opacity seemed to work well enough but the black bar on sense was less than ideal, but acceptable. There was a problem with that too, the icons for mail notifications, cell signal, etc had their own black background that showed like black squares, I'd need to know which files to edit for that too.
I'm thinking that the aosp top bar, or if anyone knows of a white/aosp theme for senseroms, would work better.
P.S. The first time I edited my framework-res, I had to re-add all my accounts on the phone? what happened?? lol
All help appreciated

in launcher pro, making the status bar transparent wont matter becuase there needs to be a wallpaper hack i believe, unless you use a live wallpaper, the transparency will show. All the files are in the framework-res.apk that you need to change i believe, aside from the pulldown tray, that is the services.jar. i could post my theme for ya, but it changes everything.
What is your theme? Maybe there's a framework-res in it I could take a peek at to compare your edits.

What do you edit in services.jar? I cant find the reference to it... the pulldown tray, that is, making it transparent.
The bars in your bottom picture are in framework-res/drawable-hdpi/
-status_bar_background.png
-status_bar_header_background.9.png
-statusbar_background.png
-status_bar_close_on.9.png
In that order
You need to edit all of the status bar icons also they have black blocks behind all of them. Like stat_notify_disk_full.png there are some in framework-res and some in com.htc.resources
The white part can only be made transparent with services.jar. I know there are downloads of it on here just do a search for services.jar.
Manup has a bunch for download that make it transparent and remove the clock and stuff.
Here is a guide on how to make your own

Thank you, answered my question fully.
Would I be correct to assume that in cm6, all the status bar icons have white blocks begins them?

Adding volume rocker music controls & theme question

How do I go about adding this to my ROM? I can't find anything anywhere telling me how to add it in.
Also, how do I change the notification dropdown from white to transparent? I tried editing all the files I thought I needed, but it still is solid white.

Im not sure about the vol controls, but i believe the kernel has to support it.
I made my pulldown, quick settings, and system pop ups transparent using uot kitchen it was really simple.

change notifications bar to full black color

I have made a full-black wallpper myself and it looks better than any other wallpapers!
but the default gray notification bar looks very ugly above full-black wallpaper.
does anyone knows how to set the color of the notification bar? I have a rooted device and I searched the forum but found nothing related.
Search the forum for xposed installer and tweakbox. Install the xposed installer and through there install tweakbox. Through tweakbox u can change statusbar settings.
From the middle of nowhere to the center of everywhere!!
Can you post your full black wallpapaer please? I like it too, and I'm using an app called no wallpaper which is very battery fitrendly, but I would like to try only a wallpaper and not an apk.
Thanks

Theme LG settings and Quick Settings bar?

Any way to theme the system settings and WAS pulldown bar? It's sort of possible with Substratum, but the icons and text on the QS remain black, while the system settings is unaffected except for the icons.

To change background of the quick settings you can use XQS Background (Xposed module).
Also you can change text in settings by using Custom Text (Xposed module too).

It really works with LG UI? I just installed XQS, but I need to get back to work or I'll be late. Thanks!

XQS Background doesn't do colors, just images you provide. And the only options are transparency. Which is actually not bad, considering it does look pretty cool now. I'd prefer a material design though, with white icons and text. Wish there was some way to do that with both quick settings and the system settings menu.

How to change default navbar color to black?

In the settings, by default, there are only light colors for the navbar, which don't fit quite well dark apps like Spotify and Reddit.
Is there a way to set it black?
I already tried:
- LG themes and high contrast mode: they work, but also change the whole UI look.
- Nacho Notch, Navbar Apps and other applications on PlayStore: they don't change only the default color, but the color used everywhere (e.g.: Nacho Notch sets the navbar to be always black, even when it should be transparent, like in the launcher).
- Alpha Substratum theme: it doesn't affect default navbar color (or, at least, I wasn't able to let it do it).
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks.
I don't see it either. Apart from another launcher, I think your only option is going to be a dark theme.

Use nacho notch or navbar apps.
Or double tap the left hand dot to hide the Nav Bar in those apps you don't like the look??
I just use System UI Tuner. A few ADB commands for permission for the app to run and all is good. Find it in the Play Store. Instructions are supper easy to follow and you can hide either the nav bar status bar or go full immersive and hide both even on the home screen like I do.

Alpha most certainly has this option. That was one of the first things I did when I added G7 support! You do have to go and manually select black but the option is definitely there
Thanks!

I finally found out how to do it! I needed to "force" the black navigation bar selection in the settings after having built "System UI".
I also quickly followed a fellow XDA members advice on how to enable High Contrast to phone in the settings and makes the phone dark as can be. It solved my Setting Theme to all black and Navigation bar to black as well. Just had to change the wallpaper back but works well.
