Is a theme for the SGS that ONLY changes the notification bar and nothing else?

Not possible, the notification bar/status bar gfx are part of the system files. At this stage you cant replace one without replacing the other.
You should read up a bit on how to do this, it's not that hard to do yourself if it's only replacing the graphics (just a matter of copying the relevant pngs from one theme to your own). But changing text colours isn't so easy.

Okay I want to make the status bar transparent and the pull down tray as well.
I want something like the transparency the top bar in OSX 10.6. I hate hiding my background and since I'm going for a minimal look, it's awfully distracting.
I tried to make the edits myself in photoshop and went ahead and resigned the .9.png files too. But when I pushed the framework-res.apk file back...only the notification bar had changed. and the pull down bar stayed solid.
Can anyone list for me which files specifically I need to change so I can make the notification bar and pull down tray transparent?
I would go ahead and make the changes myself.
I'm currently on FreshEvo, anyone think it would look better on cm6? or easier?
I found that 85% opacity seemed to work well enough but the black bar on sense was less than ideal, but acceptable. There was a problem with that too, the icons for mail notifications, cell signal, etc had their own black background that showed like black squares, I'd need to know which files to edit for that too.
I'm thinking that the aosp top bar, or if anyone knows of a white/aosp theme for senseroms, would work better.
P.S. The first time I edited my framework-res, I had to re-add all my accounts on the phone? what happened?? lol
All help appreciated

in launcher pro, making the status bar transparent wont matter becuase there needs to be a wallpaper hack i believe, unless you use a live wallpaper, the transparency will show. All the files are in the framework-res.apk that you need to change i believe, aside from the pulldown tray, that is the services.jar. i could post my theme for ya, but it changes everything.
What is your theme? Maybe there's a framework-res in it I could take a peek at to compare your edits.

What do you edit in services.jar? I cant find the reference to it... the pulldown tray, that is, making it transparent.
The bars in your bottom picture are in framework-res/drawable-hdpi/
-status_bar_background.png
-status_bar_header_background.9.png
-statusbar_background.png
-status_bar_close_on.9.png
In that order
You need to edit all of the status bar icons also they have black blocks behind all of them. Like stat_notify_disk_full.png there are some in framework-res and some in com.htc.resources
The white part can only be made transparent with services.jar. I know there are downloads of it on here just do a search for services.jar.
Manup has a bunch for download that make it transparent and remove the clock and stuff.
Here is a guide on how to make your own

Thank you, answered my question fully.
Would I be correct to assume that in cm6, all the status bar icons have white blocks begins them?

Ok so ive been using ninjamorph to edit some .pngs but i cant seem to find where the system is getting images for the notification bar background, out of all the apks ive opened, which is like everyone i could find, these are no images for the notification bar, at least not images that are actually being used. anyone got any advice on this, i want to make it transparent along with the phone background, couldnt find that either......
seems like the theme chooser app blocks some things to cause im using the buuf theme(sick btw) for adw launcher but i still get the same google search bar and anything else that theme should change
im running build 28, no other themes
statusbar_background.9.png in SystemUI.apk > res > drawable-hdpi
Yeah but that PNG doesn't match what's there right now the one posted has a gradient to it but my status bar is solid black
but that is what it is my friend
Title says it all. Can icons like the alarm clock, vibration, etc be hidden?
I'm pretty sure they can't but they're location in framework-res for editing. I've seen edits on them to make them appear removed but they're physically still there
That's odd, there are obviously morphs and flashable mods for other ROMs that can hide said icons. Is this not possible in CM because of the gb framework or what?
can hide but not remove
Any pre-made mods you know of?
What all icons do you want removed? I could create a meta morph file that could do this easily.
I'd like the alarm icon and the vibe/silent(?) icons removed myself, if you could do a morph that'd be amazing.
go to systemui.apk or framework-res.apk and delete the desired icons
Will doing that leave a space where the icon should be?
Sorry for the post on an old, dead thread, but did anyone ever get this working? I'm curious. I would like the alarm icon removed as well, but I don't just want a space there.

It is probably possible to remove them all together by someone with the right skills, but it would be tons of work. The simplest and most used way of hiding the icon is to edit the systemui.apk and framework-res.apk, replacing the icon poctures with empty transparent images. This stops you from seeing the icon but its still there and will still take up a space, it will just be a blank space.
Hey Everyone,
I successfully used UOT Kitchen to change battery icon, status bar text color, change the default font on my phone, change pop-up colors, make my drop down notification black and semi-transparent.
However, the one thing that doesn't work is the text on the notification pull down bar is black which is of course unreadable on a black semi-transparent background.
I changed it in UOT Kitchen to Blue. Then I tried doing it over again and changed it to Orange. The end result is still black.
Any help would be appreciated.
Running Stock+ which is Gingerbread based Rom from here on XDA.

Next time please post this questions in the Q/A area:
But from what you are saying the test for "ongoing" notifications are staying black right? like music and things of that nature??? that is because the texts is stored in there own apk. so if you want to change the color of the text you will need to take apart the apk for each app that uses the "ongoing" notification area.
I think I got it
First off, sorry for posting in wrong forum. Thanks for answering and not kicking me out! It won't happen again.
So basically, since the HTC Inc is supposed to have a white pull down notification, most apps make their text black and it would have to be changed in each app (text messaging, google voice texts, etc).
I did run the app Cache Cleaner which posts its results in the notification and they surprisingly showed up in the color (blue) that I had chosen in UOT. But nothing else has, so I guess I just need to change my background color to white or something that works with black text.
Thanks,
hollywoodfrodo

No worries on the kick. i dont flame.
The notifications are broken down into 2 groups. "ongoing" and "notification". If its a notification that is controlled by the framework-res.apk it will be themed from the UOT most market apk and gapps use the ongoing section so they are held within there respected apk. the only way around it is to do what you said. have a white bg or if you go and change each apk. sorry. :/
guys i used the UOT kitchen, could i replace the mod'd framework-res.apk by jus using the root explorer?? i mean paste it in the system folder den set permissions n then move it to the system/framework/ folder??
Had this issue to. Tried everything to change the text color with no luck. I finally gave up and settled for a transparent white pulldown. It dosent look to bad but is a bit of a contrast from my mostly black transparent theme.
Hi there
As the title says " Is there a way to change the notification bar clock colour?"
I have already used the theme picker and UOT Kitchen but everything else changes colour except the clock, which stays white.
Thank you for your replies

hah i replied to your other thread in desire section, promise i'm not stalking you, my dad has htc wildfire so i browse these forums to.
i actually had trouble with UOT and wildfire, just wouldnt boot after zip flash. the kitchen system files were giving me trouble
i ended up extracting the rom on PC, and uploading the systemUI and framework.res files manually, then it worked ok. nice red clock font
i know it sounds silly, but double check in the status bar preview that your clock font colour has definitely changed colour before submitting. its weird that all the other changes apply but this
