Problem with Vista and WM 6.1 Syncing?

Is there a deep-seated problem with syncing WM 6.1 with Vista's WMDC?
I have tried just about every WM 6.1 ROM produced by the excellent chefs here. On every occasion, my Hermes syncs perfectly on the first setup. However, every time I reconnect, the sync fails, with a message that there is a problem with the desktop PC. Deleting the partnership solves it for one sync, then it fails on subsequent ones. So, every time, I re-flash back to my trusty WM6 ROM and, voila, syncing returns to normal.
This occurs with every 6.1 ROM I have tried. It happens with my desktop and my laptop, both running Vista. I have checked that I have the latest version of WMDC. I have ensured that I have unticked "Enable advanced network functionality' in the USB-to-PC option.
I need to sync my Hermes every day, so this problem stops me using any of the 6.1 ROMs. Am I the only one with this problem? Has anyone had the problem and solved it?

Yes, both desktop and laptop are using that version of WMDC.
I have that constantly as well with every 6.1 ROM i've used.
My "workaround" is to turn off the calendar sync, allow the other items to sync, then turn calendar sync back on and re-sync
Then that PC will sync properly until I try to sync to another PC and I have to turn off calendar, etc... again
I've using WM 6.1 ROMs with Vista for some time now and have never had that problem. The only difference is that I leave the enable advance network..blah..blah checked. Try it.

Thanks very much for your response. I am heartened to hear that someone else is experiencing the same problem, and it is not just me.
I will try the calendar sync work-around.
Blackout128. Thanks for your reponse as well, but I have tried it with that box ticked and unticked. From Radimus above, it could be a calendar issue. Do you sync with Outlook Calendar?
Yes, I sync the calendar. I guess it was kind of stupid to suggest something that simple. I hope the calendar issues works, who knows with vista, I may have that problem tomorrow.

My final question, and this is the killer question - Are you using Outlook 2003 or 2007?
I use Outlook 2007, and my suspicion is that there could be a problem syncing with that version. Those who use Outlook 2003 might not experience it.
If you say you use Outlook 2003, great, perhaps I have got to the root of the problem.
If you say you use Outlook 2007, I will pack my bags and go!

I have no problem slashing and syncing using Outlook 2002.
Having read Radimus' workaround, I re-installed a WM 6.1 ROM. Once again, I experienced sync problems. But, as soon as I removed Calendar from the sync items, everything worked well.
Is there anyone out there able to sync calendar items between a WM 6.1 Hermes and an Outlook 2007 PC?
I am running Outlook 2007. Here is my Outlook Info.

Hi
I have sync my mobile (toshiba tg01) with outlook(including mail, calendar etc.).
Everything works fine but I wish I could receive my email when I'm not connected to my laptop, via the Internet. Thank you for answers.

How about using IMAP?
With Imap your computer and your mobile wil download the new mails and don't remove them.
Sorry, I'm using a mobile with wm6.5 for a while so I need to get know what do you mean. By IMAP you mean the IMAP Pusher? I have actually found on forum a poll about different email clients.
So I understand that there are lots of different softwares like outlook and I should try to use another one and see what will happen?
and as you suggested, IMAP(pusher?) will give me the answer?
I'll have a look. Ty.

Syncing Outlook with Android?

I am currently using my Xperia X1 and I use the Outlook calendar and contacts and sync between computer and phone daily(book appointments and meetings etc) and I was wondering if I can sync Outlook with the HTC Desire Android phone as I am about to upgrade from the X1 to the HTC Desire(possibly X10 if I can get a confirmed date for release of Android 2.1 update)
Yes you can, HTCSync (supplied with the Desire) can sync Contacts/Calendar with Outlook though I haven't used it extensively (I sync Outlook with Google then sync Desire/other devices with Google).

Hey how do you sync Outlook contacts and calendar with Google? Email works fine but cant find a good solution for contact/cal. Thanks
Forum won't allow me to post links, sorry.
For contacts Go ContactSync from webgear.co.nz
For Calendar, Google Calendar Sync
Not sure why you are discussing 3rd party solutions, when I set up my exchange mail account it also synced calendar and contacts.

I believe the OP wants to sync to desktop Outlook as opposed to an exchange server.
Ah, my bad, sorry.
I posted a link to the software here in another thread:

Thanks for the info guys. I did try "Go ContactSync" as I heard great things about it. Unfortunately I got error after error. I think the culprit is Win 7 64bit - dont think it works on it
Anyway will go the HTC sync a go. Thanks for your help again!

There is an application that runs on the desktop called Companionlink that will use your Google account to sync with Outlook (inc. Tasks).

is sync possible to microsoft outlook? thinking of exchanging Htc for a HD2 instead?

Hello there, I recently purchased a Desire and I really like the phone however I want to know if I can sync the phone to my Microsoft outlook, Is there software that anyone canu recommend. I still have the opportunity to swap my desire for a HD2. Apologies if it may seem an obvious question but I,m a novice and a creature of habit. Awaiting your valuable advice. Thanks
Hi,
HTC Sync is supplied with the Desire. In syncs contacts and calendar with all versions of Outlook. It doesn't sync tasks however.
I use it daily to sync Outlook 2007 with my Desire without any problems.
Re: is sync possible to microsoft outlook?
You can use HTC software or you can use google sync which will automaticly sync google calendar and outlook.

[Q] E-Mail Sync from Outlook to Android?

hey there,
i'm pretty new to the dhd...and also android
my brother got an iphone 4 some days ago...
we both had a wm handset before and synced our email account from outlook with the device. it copied all the mails and so on.
but now we have the same problem: it seems that ios and android dont have that option. am i wrong?
i think the only option is imap, pop3 is not really working with htc sync..any advice?
thanks guys
DN41
The DHD comes with HTC Sync which supposely syncs with Outlook. This is what I wanted (for contacts and Calendar) but found there were problems with it (can't remember exactly what now). So I looked around and came to MyPhoneExplorer ... see ... http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ .... very useful forums there as well. Oh, and I see you're from Germany too so the website/forums will be even more useful to you!
I read/reply to email via the DHD but don't download my archived mails, my PC is used for that purpose, so haven't looked into a solution for that part of your query.
HTH
Dave
Ok thanks i take a look
but I think my only chance is IMAP...
