sorry for bad quality of pics but I can't leave a link here for imageshare

Can you get into the Android OS?

Once at the 2nd screen (black with the red !) press volume up & power and you'll get a small menu, you can then select 'Apply SD:update.zip' and run a custom recovery
EDIT: OK, should really look at pictures and not assume!! I've not seen the 2nd picture before, you normally get a red !

I've never seen that screen either. I'm just wondering if it was maybe a T-mobile splash screen or something as it looks pinkish?
The OP doesn't say if the handset is branded or if he tried to root it. Perhaps this is the normal screen seen on a stock T-mobile handset if there is a rom problem etc?
It's all guesswork I suppose till we get more info.

Have you tried using Unrevoked? It can flash a custom recovery directly to the phone so if you press recovery on your first screen, it will load directly the custom recovery instead of android recovery or whatever the second screen is about.
Maybe your network operator has done something similiar and thats why you dont see the red triangle with exclamation mark in the second screen.
I, for example, have flashed AmonRa recovery with unrevoked and now when I get to the first screen and select recovery, it loads AmonRa directly.

I think that screen means that you need to press 'volume up' and 'power' at the same time, in order to proceed. This was a step in the process when I de-branded my phone..

It's not the same screen, my first post in this thread assumed the same until I looked at the picture...it's not the red ! but a pinkish circle

Really sorry for long answering. Got a long day

Actually i've done unrerevoked. It told me "done"
The probleme is i had black screen and had to put out battery.
I'm ready to throw out all my media from phone, but i don't know what i have to do.

what os are on? 2.1 or 2.2? find and reflas your original ruu. and redo unrevoked all over again. prefer amonra's recovery. less problems.

it seems to me I can't pm.
I've already sent a message, but it didn't showed in my pm box.
could you just pm your gtalk or something else to me?

Aerobro, I received your PM so they are working. Unfortunately I didn't have time to respond, and won't be online too much until Monday now.
I see you have other offers of help via PM, so in the meantime I'll leave you with them. If you are still having bother I'll see what I can do for you when I'm next able to.
To be honest though, your best bet for help is here in the forum. More people will see your problem, what stage you are at in resolving it, and if fixed they can use it for reference.
Let me know how you get on.

Please help! I've been trying to find answers and trying to fix my G2 this whole week and, to even add how much im working/reading on how trying to fix it, i even stayed up a WHOLE night reading about things but still no-go
G2 is semi-bricked because my brother was going to permanently root the G2 and right when the process finished, is when the phone was semi-bricked because he "forgot" a step (great -_- human error)
Just a few things:
Yeah i can go into recovery (VOL down + Power Button) but, im a noob at recovery things, so i dont know how or what to use or do like i said, i've researched a lot and done the steps that i read online and still nothing, so i rather get answers/help from great people in here (i heard this forum is really smart/good at Android stuff)

explain your semi bricked status... how do you know its semi bricked? which step did he miss?
also you be better off asking in guide how to recover semi bricked phone rather than asking in Q & A....experienced mods usually follow that thread and reply to ppl who have queries
it wont go into the Android OS, it just stays stuck at HTC. No further. And he didnt tell me, but he watched a video on youtube.

go straight to the rooting section and try to find out which method was he using to root your phone... when you narrow that down try to find which step he missed.....when all thats done than either post here exactly which method was he using and which step he missed.....or post in the semi bricked page.....
right now the most current recommended method is using Gfree...
also try to see if you have access to your recovery and if clockworkmod recovery is installed or not....
for that take out your battery and put it back in.... hold volume down and power button....
it will boot into boot loader
give it few seconds to display that "waiting for SD card Pb10.img not found"
than use volume down button to navigate to recovery and use power button as click selection..... if it boots up into clockworkmod recovery than you have custom recovery installed
Yeah i dont have CWM installed, just checked. And what my brother told me is that he was "temporary rooted" then he tried to "perm root", but actually, he didnt go to youtube, he tried to perm root using the VISIONary method.

check wiki for htc vision ... for how to fix errors during rooting.....
also if you wanna root gfree is recommended software lately..... check wiki to confirm.....
also try factory reset.... by turning phone off... than holding power button and volume up and down button .... i think.....confirm via wiki
Well i also cant do any adb steps because adb doesnt detect my G2 (although it detects it when im in recovery (the menu with a phone and red exclamation point) but it says its offline) i can only use fastboot
and btw my G2 is S-ON
and i have done factory resets and nothing
I'm not as experianced as a lot of the but have you tryed the pc10img via fast boot? That might work scince everything is stock on your phone
/edit have you gone the the adb guides it took me a few times but I finally got it...adb looks the best way to go

yeah but when i use PC10IMG it just says main version is older (or something like that) and says update failed.

it might be because you tried the 1.12 verison pc10img.zip and your phone came with updated 1.19 version
PC10IMG_Vision_TMOUS_1.19.531.1_Radio_12.21.60.09b _26.02.01.15_M2_release_149459_signed.zip
try this one by putting in your sd card. your phone should flash it and it shouldnt say version is older...
download from here
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Vision
when you put it in sd card rename it to just PC10img.zip and reboot into bootloader and when it asks you to flash. let it flash
I'll try that right now, but I think I did use the 1.19 one but can't recall.
I'll edit this post to tell you if it works
EDIT:It still says Main Version is Older...you think i need to use the 1.12 one?

Flashed wrong HTC stock ROM...I have SLCD screen, need help.

I tried to go back to unroot and stock HTC rom, Flashed wrong ROM, downloaded BOTH, now, phone vibrates one time (like its supposed to), but the screen does not work. Charge light does not work as far as I can tell so far.
Is there any way to get this back working or is it pretty much gone?
Edit: Charge light comes on..
Can you get into recovery through Hboot? Power it on while holding down the volume down button and see if Hboot loads.

Nope, I downloaded two recovery images. One for SLCD sreen and one for the other screen. I looked, and apparently flashed the wrong one. I get just a black screen.
So, you can't get to recovery, not even Hboot? If Hboot is black, I don't know if there is much you can do...

If I cant get HBoot to open..or anything for that matter, will verizon be able too? I took it to the store, told the guy very simply "the screen wont show up and nothing happens besides the single vibrate (as usual) on start-up). They hooked it to something...had the phone for about 20 minutes. Then came back and told me they ordered another one...
Edit: Once the recovery image flashed, Hboot came back up initially. S-ON was displayed. S-ON was the one thing I am glad happened.! lol
LOL, I hear you, I had a similar issue with my PSP a few years back. was getting random memory errors, and crash to reboot. I had enough sense to flash it back to stock fw, before bringing it back in. it crashed around 78% thru the stock fw flash. So that was kinda a godsend, since the only data they will be able to get off of it if they try, is stock.
Well your issue was the image you flashed. You went to unroot and flash a stock 2.1 ROM. Although this sounds correct, there is a problem. The stock 2.1 ROM was made for the release DInc's, and those, my friend, come AMOLED. So by flashing that stock 2.1 ROM, it does not contain the correct hardware drivers to support the newer batch of DInc, the SLCD.
What you could have done was:
Download the correct ROM that supports the SLCD from here (which can be found on http://dougpiston.com
Place that file in the root of your sdcard.
Now since your phone's display doesnt work, like you said it vibrates once, like normal, your phone still functions properly.
Boot your phone into HBOOT and allow it a few minutes, like normal to find this PB31IMG.zip file. It then will prompt you to press UP to confirm the update or press DOWN to not update. (you will not see this, but if you have flashed a radio then you know this process)
when you press up, it will then start updating to the stock ROM. however, you wont see any of this. just a black screen.
allow that to run, usually for 10 minutes. to be safe wait 15-18 minutes and then press UP. When the update is complete you are asked to reboot. UP for yes DOWN for no. again you will not see this. Then when it reboots....you will be happy and see the HTC Incredible white screen
It got me too, same thing you did. Just dug around and figured it out.

Help Please...Stuck on white hTC EVO 4G SCreen

Tried to flash the MissMe Rom after using the Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo Rom for a couple of weeks. I did a Nandroid Back-up and Wiped the phone and got the message ERROR: couldn't open file... So I then tried to just restore from my Nandroid Back-up I had just done. I then got an error that said: Oops, problem. So I tried selected the reboot phone option and now I'm stuck at the white hTC EVO 4G screen. Can someone help?
Shutdown your device. Simultaneously press the DOWN volume button and the power button until your device starts. After a short pause, a few lines of text will scroll across the screen. At the top, you will see either "S-ON" or "S-OFF". Hopefully, it says "S-OFF". Anyway, afterwards, you will be given a set of options. Select recovery and then try to restore your backup. If you still get stuck at the white EVO screen, you may have to flash THIS file for amon-RA recovery. Just place the file on the root of your SD card ( not in any folder ) and then shutdown and restart your computer in the manner I onsricted above. The bootloader should autodetect the file and prompt you to install. Follow the simple prompts to install. After about 10 seconds, installation will be complete. Boot into your new recovery and try to flash a rom.

If you were updating your radios then you're right. You do not pull the battery, however, if you are just changing roms and then get stuck, it shouldn't be a problem. If it has been more than 30 minutes, you might want to take the chance, bur it's your phone and your decision. In any case, you should plug it into a power source before your phone's battery gets too low to even take a charge and if its power get below 35%, you're going to have to wait until it gets above that to even do anything somewhat safely. At your convenience, try my instructions above.

I'm terrified, but yes it has been over 30 minutes, but it has been on charge. When I said it didn't work, I was referring to trying to boot into recovery by holding Vol down and power simultaneously.
And yes I was just trying to flash a new ROM, not update radios.
I am going to try pulling out battery and booting into recovery. Will let u know the outcome.

Okay. Hopefully, all goes well for you. More than likely, you're going to have to go through the bootloader to get to recovery. If push comes to shove, you should try flashing one of the RUU stock roms from a Windows PC.

Just download LauncherPro from the Market and install it. When you hit your Home key, you will see 2 launchers of which LauncherPro will be one of them. Select the one you want to use. If you select LP, click Menu and then select Preferences in the bottom center and from there, you can customize LP to your liking.

[Q] HTC Desire briged by ROM Manager

Hello xda developers
I have sadly bricked my HTC Desire, this happend about 2 weeks ago where i tryed to update my HTC Desire to the newest Cryonmod.
It downloaded the update like normal and rebooted, but something went wrong i just showed the phone with an exclamation mark, and now when i turn the phone on will i just get the phone with an exclamation mark.
I am able to enter Fast Boot:

I am not sure about the carrier, but it was bought by TDC i Denmark 2010.
Is there a way i can recover my phone? to make it harder is the only device i have that can read/write on a SD card my phone, so i need to transfere the new rom over the usb in some way.
First an advice: Never use rom manager again, it's horrible and causes many (heavy) problems.
Now to your problem:
Use the search, here many threads of guys who also had this problem.
Well i suppose the screen with the exclamation mark also have a triangle. in that case just hold down volume-up and press power, when that screen is showing. Then it will enter a stock recovery menu, where you use volume buttons and power to flash update.zip, and you will be back into clockwork mod recovery.
From here you can mount the sd-card and transfer a working rom-file in order to flash it.
And no there is nothing wrong in using rommanager.
Also if you want further help in danish(guessing you are danish since you bought it from TDC denmark) pm me i'm quite experienced doing this.

Well as you stated yourself, similar problems have been resolved several times over, the only problem is for people to understand the solutions. This is what i have already tried to help OP do in my previous post(by actually explaining what to do). I only offered him additional help in his native language as well, and it'll not be relevant for most people(who aren't danish). So no it's not senseless.
Also both your posts have been quite irrelevant to the topic, so you are not the one to correct me...
edit: also that is why i like helping in pm's as there is noone filling the thread with empty useless comments like go search...

Your in the stock recovery pal. Hold down the power and volume keys and you will eventually get some options on the screen. Once they come up use the volume buttons to scroll and power to select. Btw, i suspect you have a htc wildfire S not the htc wildfire. So this would be the wrong forum for you if your phone does not have a trackpad at the bottom of the screen (looks like a circle with a dot in it) then you have the S model.
HTC Wildfire
Thanks for Replying back Its not letting me to run recovery and on the top of it if the phone boots up it take almost 20 minutes to get to the home screen and it hang sup their itself you can't even do anything on it and i am trying to unlock the boot loader to run recovery and install custom rom on it but nothing working out. I do have a trackpad on this mobile and i checked over the internet also and its Model number is A3333. So Please help me what all option that i can use on this mobile right now as i am totally new to Flashing Android Mobiles.

Okay, pull the battery out. Then put it back in after 5 seconds. Hold down volume down, then power and keep both pressed down until a wite screen with some writing comes up. There it should say hboot, a version number and s-on or s-off. What does yours say?
HTC Widlfire
Well I am sharing the screenshot

Ah ha! Fantastic whoever else had this phone before you has done most of the hard work and security unlocked the bootloader already. http://dl-1.va.us.xda-developers.c...zip?key=kzoSRLwAaSgJsyXiuKJS4A&ts=1431506306 download this and place it onto your sdcard. Reboot into hboot and your hboot should request you to update the recovery. Select yes with volume up. After this you should reboot back into hboot without the sdcard in. Then select recovery from hboot and boot into it.
Once your in recovery you could either:
1. Wipe the data, cache and dalvik cache and then reboot the phone. This will reset the phone and hopefully fix and voot related issues.
2. Wipe the phone entirely and install a new rom. Cyanogenmod 7 is a good lightweight rom. Please look at the development section for all the roms available.
Just one question though, that screen damage looks like bad. Do you know what happened?

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?398dklf1uzss5f6 Updated link.
As I have said I recommend Cyanogenmod 7. Read the thread here Its a custom version but its more recent.
Now your screen, I suspect that those marks are from heat damage. Most likely from whoever else had the phone overclocking it. This could be a telltale sign of hardware damage through excessive use and it may never boot properly. I thought I should mention that.
Well i thats case would like to ask one more thing we will be able to fix it or not or its not worth it.

Depends, this phone is an old model as far as mobile phones are concerned. the cost of a motherboard and new lcd + digitizer could be the same cost as the phone in a used condition.
I work it out as £23.13 as the cheapest you could get the parts but then you would need to do a full tear down of the device in order to replace most of it. I mean basically your only keeping the frame, trackball, camera and some rubber bits.
Cheapest I can find to buy it in the uk is £25 ( with you needing to sim unlock it).
But I would add that you might as well try get cm7 on the device. The only thing it will cost you is time and you never know, the phone might be usable with CM7 on it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
OK bro let me first give a try with the cm7 rom and see if its work and hoping for the best

Sorry, i forgot to mention, the controls for the recovery are different from hboot. Push trackball to select items, power is now the back button.
let me give a try and see if its work i installed the rom from Sd card ad restarted the mobile and hoping this will work now
I tried to install stock rom that i have downloaded from HTC Website and that is not getting installed lets hope CM7 will work i can see the ultrabeam revolutionary Logo on the screen right now its still thinking up
