[Q] SkyRaider backgrounds - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone able to pull the background files from SkyRaider's ROM and post them here? I'd like to run them on my stock 2.2 since I went back from OTA.

I guess it would've helped to check the ZIP file first...

[Q] Upgrading to 2.3.3 from 2.2 rooted?

I am using 2.2 and kernal version 2.6.32.17, build number 3.70, this phone is already rooted, but never had any ROMs installed.. how can I upgrade to 2.3.3 and then root that? I assume ill have to back up everything to my pc from my sd card? I hope someone can steer me the right way, and its not as complicated..
If you are rooted, choose a rom that you want that has 2.3.3 there are plenty out there, even the sprint lovers rom or even synergy if you want the new sense 3.0 features.
Download which you want put the zip on the root of your sd card.
Find caulkins wipe zip, which is in one of his threads, put that on the root of your sd card as well.
Load up recovery(can be done by vol down+power when powered off)
Make a nandroid backup.
Flash caulkins wipe zip.
Flash the rom you want.
Reboot.
When i tried to flash the caulkins wipe zip I got this error:
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by google in android 1.5
it was necessary to remove it when upgradeing to the clockworkMod 3.0 gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update- binary) to create working update zip package.
It rebooted. So then i wet in ROM Manager and tried to install the synergy room and i got an installation aborted error and my evo restarted and the stock rom came up as if brand new, all contacts/apps gone. Luckily i made a backup and was able to restore.. what could the problem be?

If you have S-off then you already rooted. Just flash a rooted stock ROM.
**CLICK HERE** and go to post #2. That has links to the latest rooted stock ROMs.
Don't forget the thanks button.
Op I think you should run decks aosp rom. The problem you are having with the amend script is because you're running clockwork mod recovery. Now you have 2 options. If you decide to go with the rom I would recommend, you should go in the link below and follow all of the instructions.
If you wanna flash what you were trying to flash before, go to the link below and somewhere in the first post you will find a link to amon ra recovery. Flash that recovery and then you can follow the instructions you were trying before

That may not be a 3.0 version, some roms were sense 2.1 build with 3.0 features, like lock screen, ect.
Ah gotcha, no complaints, still nice compared to the 2.2 stock that shipped out with Sprint..

There are full 3.5 roms in the dev section, if you still wanted one.

[Q] How To Update PRL in Cyanogenmod 7.1?

I have been running Cyanogenmod 7.1 for a while now and am wondering how to update the Sprint PRL without having to revert to a Sense ROM to do the update.
I have read that there are flashable files that will update the PRL (if you can find the latest one).
What I am wondering, is it possible to take from my Titanium Backup or AmonRa backup (using app extractor) a system app that will allow for easy update when I was running Stock? If so, what is the file/app I should be looking for?
I am also wondering where I can get the updated Voicemail that was recently pushed out. My wife got it on her unrooted EVO 4G.
Thanks for any help.
Doc
Its not possible in tb. Also, you'd need to flash the zip [I don't know who does them], or do it the old fashioned way of backing up, flash a sense rom, update, flash back.
Also, PM Hipkat , you can tell him I sent you. I think he has the latest VVM apk you want.
To save ya a step u could flash r2r going green cuz it has updates included in the rom

Flash this through bootloader... PC36IMG its updated PRL,wimax, radio and NV,im on TN's Xplod, its a cyanogemod based rom.
I think I by-passed all this this morning. It occurred to me that CM7 has a setting to open soft keyboard on long press menu. I dialed my activation number (I'm on Verizon btw), and when the dial-pad-less page was presented during the call, I held down menu and pressed my option (2) using the soft keyboard. It worked perfectly and didn't even need rebooting. I had been googling trying to find an answer to how to update prl and only saw answers on how you need to flash back to stock. I don't know if all carriers update prl the same way, but just suggesting another option.

Advice for how should update

Hello,
I was just wondering what might be the best way to be able to update the phone from hwere I am at.
Currently like another poster here. I am on jelly bean currently stock but rooted with stock recovery.
I have modded a few system files to get bluetooth tethering a while back and because of that the OTA update won't flash recognizes the change.
Can I just flash the root66 image with the new version and keep root but be upgraded.
Should I reset it, flash the new direct file from samsung then the root66 or what would be the best way of upgrading it at this point.
Flash Root66. Don't flash the stock image at all. You won't lose data but any changes you made to the system partition will be undone.
Cool
I didn't know it that would work and I would still get the new modem and kernel and what not.
New kernel yes, new modem no.
Awww shucks.
From what I read that made some nice changes to connectivity.
How do I apply the new modem from the update then?
I don't think I could use the stock recovery to get it.
Do you know if Triangle Away works on the new version with root?
Would there be anything else that might not get flashed too if I do i that way?
Anyone?
If it was me I'd flash a custom recovery like clockwork and then flash a stock rooted rom based on the new update.

Yeah I was trying to keep as stock as possible.
What I did was put back on a customer recovery and replaced the framework with the stock one.
Then put back stock recovery and applied the update making sure to use OTA Rootkeep to keep root on the phone
Then put on custom recovery again and pull moddified and replaced the framework again
Lastly put back the stock recovery and triangle away whichdoes work.
if you follow instructions on Post 1 (with baseband {Modem} changes), you will be on Newest everything, then if you wanted to mod files, it would be the same... (just on newest Base)... this is basically THE Same as root66 (but newer version) CIQ removed and all newer files.
You could apply your build.prop tweaks and mods on top of them or thru them (depending on what you know)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128306
Currently now , i'm applying all MOD's that i'm able to do with STOCK files as a base. (rather then just copyng over systemui.apk, seclauncher2.ap2, etc) so they have same UVDLJC base
i have successfully changed seclauncher2.apk so far, working in systemui.apk now. 2 others next to carry mods.
I followed these instructions to Mod Seclauncher2.apk on Post #71 (it worked fine) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691957&page=8
I have 5x6 on both HomePage + apps drawer and Wallpaper is scrolling. I changed values from the launcher, that I used in past (not values on page exactly)

[Q] Unroot and get AT&T S3 back to stock

I rooted my phone then used CWM RomManager to make a backup image of the rooted stock rom. Then put KitKat on the phone. Since then I have restored the Rooted stock Rom. Now every time the phone boots I get the Upgrading Android message and the phone is kind of buggy. I am having trouble finding instructions anywhere on how to get it back to complete stock. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
Thanks
What stock AT&T rom were you running when you created the backup?
Oh I guess I should have mentioned that huh.. it was 4.3
Have you tried flashing the 4.3 update.zip file you can find in the developers forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387423.
I feel like you ought to be able to copy the 4.3 zip file to your SD Card and flash via recovery and it should work, although I haven't tried it so I can't be sure.
