I just downloaded four or five apps from the market. They installed fine.
Then my wife comes home 2 hrs later and she says what are these new apps that downloaded on my phone. I just bought her an EVO a few days ago.
What happened? We do sync to the same two Gmail accounts. Does Goggle then d/l your apps to any phone that your registered on?
That could be bad news. Say I want to download FIND_me_a Girlfriend or something. Seriously not every app I want ghosted on every phone. Is this a known issue, is this a feature that can be turned off?
I believe that's the problem. It may be time to break those shackles and get your own email account.

We actually both sync to multiple gmail accounts. As we both need to know what is happening with each others work day.
Apps sync with the account that you download them from.

Hi all,
I'm having an issue where i can't download anything from the market. It just stuck when starting download. I even left apps trying to download overnight - and still nothing.
I already cleared data from all the possible places: download manager, market, google apps, etc. Everything else works fine. I have access to the internet, gmail, gtalk, Gmaps. I killed a task killer, powered off a few times and all the same
I'm running stock, version 003.
What are my options? Please help.
I had that problem with my G1 on TMO, but it hasn't been an issue with my EVO and Sprint. It could be poor service. Have you tried it over WiFi?

What account did you set up for your google account? I had this problem when I first got my phone because I did not use a gmail account. I figured a google account was good enough.
It isn't.
I'd start with troubleshooting your default mail account on phone. Your gmail must be your default. And...lucky...if it isn't...you get to do a factory reset.
That is what I had to do. Lesson learned.
thanks guys, i think i fixed it.
I killed startup auditor and started google talk. Now all works fine. I never had GTalk running and never had any issues with the market. I guess i let gtalk eat my battery life from now on..... Unchecking autosign in doesn't help. It always shows in the running apps.
Hi.
Gmail keeps updating and eating storage space without asking me first.
I don't want it, as I prefer the htc client...so how do I stop it happening, automatic updating is NOT ticked.
I'm concerned about how this happens, as it implies any application can update without my permission which would seem to be a privacy risk (although its the storage usage that concerns me most)?

Are you rooted? I have not seen gmail update but deleting it should stop it from updating.
Gmail is a push email system so when an email appears in your inbox it will be pushed to your phone. It's how Android works. Although, as you said, turning off Gmail sync should stop this...
Apologies, maybe I wasn't so clear. It's not that 'emails keep arriving' that I'm on about!
I mean the actual "Google Mail" application itself. I don't use it...I have tried it on occasion but I always come back to using the HTC Mail application because I prefer the UI and I don't need instant push email, I'm happier scheduling to recieve mail every few hours.
BUT...what I find is that every so often, the Google Mail application UPDATES itself with a new release from the Market. I don't want that to happen, and I have to "remove the updates".
Same happened with Flash for a while which kept insisting on installing a big update that I had no interest in recieving, although that seems to have disappeared from my Applications list now (and I can still use Flash fine).
I'm not rooted, the stock ROM is fine for me, I've toggled that setting that enables all apps to install directly to SD...but things like the updates to Google Mail seem to take up a load of on phone storage.
Ah right!!! Unless Google ignores things for system updates I can't comment. I have the opposite issue in that nothing updates automatically ever!!
In the market page, can you turn off "automatic updates"? I think for google mail it is on by default.
Hmm, am having this same problem. Gmail App keeps updating, dispite auto-updates (for gmail app) unchecked. Problem is I'm using email-notifier app, which only works w/ earlier version, hence I need the current gmail version to remain.
For what it's worth, this is a non-HTC phone / stock ROM. Found this thread via google search and am posting here (sorry to revive old thread) in case there is some other 'android wide' solution someone's come up with.

Hi all!!
Got a problem with Google Talk and would like to disable one account from using Google Talk.
Home Gmail account works fine and want to use it, but my work gmail account has it disabled server side and my Galaxy Nexus keeps popping up "error - cannot logon".
Its really annoying!!!! There is a sign off option, i do it and it still tries to auto logon. There is nothing under accounts/sync.
Any ideas?
I'm close to removing talk and using whatsapp/ping or something.
This has been a problem eversince talk was released, it picks te first account which has been setup on the phone as default! try search the forum there was a workaround.
Otherwise, remove you accounts, en setup the one you want to use first then the second, this should work.
Talk hasn't been updated since quite a long time, maybe they will update it sometime to make it able to switch accounts.
Think this was put in as a request to google already.
Also think google messenger from G+ app will replace google talk in the future as a chat application .
Thanks for that!! Will prob switch to G+ chat instead then.

I just went to the buddy list of the account that i dont want to use, hit the menu key, then sign out. It hasnt auto logged since. even after a reboot.
I had configured in my device 4 google accounts.
All worked normally since I bought an application and google charged to me 4 times that application!
In addition, I installed an application that I bought long time ago, and again google charged for it some times...
But the most surprising was that after this happents I was able to refund this app!
So maybe this bug can be usefull to ask for a applications refunds for long time ago purchases...

I had to pay for apps on the galaxy s3 that I previously bought on the same account but on a different phone, is this normal?
Nop, they must be free ... check if you have configured more than one google account in your device. If so, only keep you play store account and remove the others ...
That fixed the problem on my device ...
If you want to use more than one email account use the samsung mail app.
It seems its a bug of this version of ics ...
I decided that after years with the same gmail account, it had become too cluttered and too many people had my email and I just wanted a fresh start.
So, I created a fresh, new gmail account and I did a factory data reset on my phone.
But now, all the pre-installed apps won't show up in the Google Play store so I can not update them. If I type in the name of an app that is pre-installed, it shows "Update" but when I go to "my apps" there are no apps there, so I can't update them all. I also have "auto update" on, but nothing is updating.
What could cause this and is there a way I can fix it? Even though I don't use all of the pre-installed apps, I still want everything up to date.

can you install apps from the pc on the new gmail? if not, what happens when you try that from the old one?
Same Issue
I have this exact issue. Purchased a used phone. It was delivered in mint condition and had been factory reset. So I set it up as it was new. However, the pre-installed apps do not show up in "My Apps". So, I cannot "Update all" and auto update does not include those apps.
If I run a search for any pre-installed app it gives the option to update. Once updated, the app shows in "My Apps" like normal. All new downloaded apps show up in "My Apps" as normal.
It's like the pre-installed apps are synced to a different account... Please help
They will show up. It takes a few minutes or so. I just got the HTC one, traded my s4 for it (best decision ever!) and it took a while

I forgot I made this thread... Oops haha. Mine eventually just showed up, like mrbracht said, however it took a couple hours for me.
