Flashing my slide - myTouch 3G Slide Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need a complete guide to flashing my phone an a simple one if possible,my phone is rooted.

download whatever rom you want place on sdcard. Get into clockwork recovery just like when you rooted. Then use the apply zip from sd option. Make sure rom doesn't require you to flash eng rom first... Although you can get into clockwork much easier with it...

I can't get into clockwork recovery

Did you download rom manager from market and flash recovery? Otherwise you need to put udpate file on sd card, power on with volume held down, when you get red triangle, press volume up and power button, pause and wait for menu options. Then apply update.
When in clockwork, use trackball.
Recommend you take some time and review slide bible in development section.

I have rom manager installed, what update do I need?
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App

Open rom manager, flash clockwork recovery, then install rom from sd card. Click backup and wipe options. Ensure you flash eng release instructions if you have not already.

I have a rom on my sd card but when ever I go to install,I check mark the two options, but when it reboots it fails,it shows the phone on its back with a question mark above it.

How did you root then?... you must follow the same process as root... unless you flashed the ENG build

I rooted my phone from gadgetvault.com
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App

Yes that is the same method of rooting at taken from XDA... just follow it again... and after you do the apply update.zip it brings you to clockwork recovery... where you use the volume rocker to scroll up and down... then select install from sd... or apply from sd... whatever it says.... you have to do the whole root process over again to get there....

I did that an tried to install my rom,but it didn't work
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App

after applying the rom zip what happens
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App

you're in clockwork, flashed, and nothing? wipe? doubt that would be it though. idk what to tell you cuz if you can get into clockwork then all you need to do is flash and reboot

Nothing happens,I have to go through an root my phone to get into clockwork,I can't do a nandroid back up,no roms will install, nothing does

Your using the power button to select the options right?

ROM question

Is there a Rom that is stock but does not have the sprint add-ons
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Just use root explorer to remove the bloatware
Original ROM
I want to return my EVO 4G (Going with the EPIC) and wanted to return it to the original Sprint ROM how can I Do that?
Also tried running RUU_Supersonic_1.32.651.1_Radio_1.39.00.04.26_release_171253
but it failed any suggestions?
Even changing the splash screen back to default would do it.
THanks
Check the evo wiki, there is a rom section that includes stock and also rooted stock roms.

try reflashing your recovery through ROM manager you may wont to do it 2 or 3 times to make sure it sticks then goto reboot into revoery from ROM manager... good luck
I tried that and now it will go to the bootloader screen when I try to boot into recovery

No I haven't done anything the g2 isnt even 24 hrs old but I switched my sd card to a different one and it worked and switched back to my orginal 8 gig and now it works so idk what the deal is......

How did you try get into recovery that made you end up in fastboot?
If you did Vol down + Power, that will get you to fastboot from a powered down state.
However there is no shortcut like that to get to recovery.
You can select bootloader from the fastboot menu, and then select recovery from there.

No I tried to boot into recovery from rom manager and it went to fast boot I don't know my sd card is being wierd and automatically unmounting the sd card

Have you tried unloading your SD card onto your computer and reformatting it before replacing it into your phone?
Not yet I am going to do that tonight this 8 gig sd card has had a lot of use through my last g2 and I just thought it was weird that it went to fast boot when trying to reboot into recovery through rom manager

Do what "sasquatchotragavaca " says. In case u can't get into recovery(happened to me several times) download the recovery file and flash it again(ill recommend amon ra smelkus mod) and use an sdcard reader to transfer the file from pc to the sdcard. There is a few guides out there in case you are not familiar doing this.

Recovery mode?=

hi my friends my MT3GS doesn't have rom and when i want to install, i can't do it because the volume keys doesn't work how can i install the rom?
It's really difficult. My volume key broke once and the only way to apply a new ROM is to fix the key...
but if you have root already, and clockworkmod recovery, then you could use rom Manager from the market, there is an option that allows you to go to the flashing process as for what i remember.
