okay im confused on the state of my mytouch slid
I flashed CR's 2.1 sense ota rom.
thannn i flashed to CM6 rc 1, than the full release version.
Question is, do i still have the latest OTA goodies?
EDIT: and yes i did do a whole wipe of cache and data.
the only part of the OTA you have is the updated phone rom.
The rest does not apply to a CM6 rom.

When I do a NAND Backup, does it backup the radio???
Just wondering in case I have problems with the radio I flash... if I can go back to where I am today (including the radio)...
Thanks!
No it does not.
So what if I want to go back to my stock 1.36 radio (or would there be no reason for me to do this since 2.05 is that much better)?
Also, will the 2.05 radio work with any ROM (including my stock sprint rooted 1.32.651.6 firmware)?
Read. This has been discussed 100 times.
The new radio will only work with the newest stock OTA or a ROM that is based off the newest OTA which is clearly spelled out in the first post of any new ROM thread.
Ok... thx... I hate to follow up with more noob questions, but does that mean I need to flash a latest OTA rom before I can go to CM6 because I need to flash the lastest radio BEFORE installing cm6?
No, you can flash radios and kernels separately from ROMs. Just flash CM6, then flash a radio, and you should be good.

Follow the instructions on the thread for the ROM you want to install.
And since I can see this coming a mile away, if you flash CM6, you will lose 4G and HDMI. No there is no way around it. So don't do it then wonder why it doesn't work.
Thanks for the help... I was aware that Wimax and HDMI aren't working yet on CM6 RC1 .. but don't need either...
I know this question has probably already been answered but I didn't see it. I am on Damage 3.2.3. If I go to one of the latest rooted 2.2 builds and update radio and wimax, will I be able to go back to a nandroid back up of my 2.1 setup like I did when I went between CM6 and 2.1?
yes you can. I have done this many times with out problems. just back that nand up
That was with the latest OTA update, correct?

how do i update my rooted 4g. over the last 2-3 months i guess sprint has release so new updates for software i guess i i am jus wondering if i should update and if so how to i update. oh yeah i rooted using unrevoked 3 i beleive.
1. Update you PRL by flashing a sense rom, select update profile from update, profile only
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485 You can update your radios, ect, if you wish. You flash them in recovery, wipe cache and dalvik first though.
They are correct, but I don't think there have been any updates in the past 3 months other than PRLs which can be updated from any Sense ROM.
good find i was wondering the same thing

NEVER do an OTA update if you are rooted. The link he sent you is for one of the MANY gingerbread roms available. Visit the development section to choose and select a gb rom to flash.
If you take the OTA update you will lose root and no exploit has been found.

Do not downloads any OTA's, always only get updates from the forums & new roms. OTA's, especially the new ones either break root or blocked it after being updated. Just download any new gingerbread rom & flash one of those using RA Recovery, new the clockwork recovery doesnt wipe dalvik cache. Download the new radios,WIMAX, etc as well from the forums, Calkulin has them all posted in the forums. U will not miss that old MYN Rom, i ran that last year when i 1st got my phone...
My opinion, but Gingerbread sucks in comparison to Myn's 2.2.
I had a replacement come in with Gingerbread, and I could hang myself for it.
I wouldn't voluntarily put that garbage on my phone if someone paid me to do so.
Hi,
I currently run Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5 on my Evo 4G, but I was thinking of moving to Synergy RC2. I think I remember having to update my radio firmware, PRI, etc. before installing TwoPointTwo. I don't see the requirement to do this on the Synergy forum page. Do I need to do this for Synergy?
Flashing radios is completely independent of roms, i.e. you are not required to flash a specific radio just to flash a rom.
With that being said, its ALWAYS a good idea to update your radios if you haven't yet. There was a new radio version out a month or so ago, flash that before flashing the new rom.
Radios are purely based on your phones performance. I believe they said in the 1st thread in smaller writing to update but it's not required by any means.
Do you happen to have a link to the thread for the latest radios, PRI, etc? I did a quick search but couldn't find it.
Also, can I update the radios/PRI while still keeping my current rom? Or should I always reflash a rom after doing a radio/PRI update?
EDIT: just found it... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485&highlight=evo+radio+pir

yes you can, just wipe cache and dalvik first just to be safe.

No, again radios have nothing to do with the rom itself.
